"AAAAHHHHHHH!!!" A girly scream echoed from the house.
I woke up wearing an annoyed expression. This is the third time that blond haird girl Lisa screamed for a stupid reason, three days ago we all came running to the kitchen only to find out that she was pissed because someone ate her pudding, talk about being over dramatic.
It's been two weeks.
We have been checking our cellphones for any massages from the army but nothing, at least the Internet is still working, we only saw that the undead are only in our city and a few nearby, but the army is taking measures to completely wipe out every undead lurking in this town as it is the main source. Also they have been rumours lately, some say they have seen people with unnatural abilities, some claim to be magic others say it's superpowers, a lot of names are being mentioned.
All this sounds insane.
Alice and Layla seem to get along recently, only a little actually. I don't know if Alice was possessed the other day or something but she hasn't acted weird since that day, I even tried to get her to the roof top when the sun was setting but nothing happened.
These past weeks I have adjusted a little and started to get used to our strange world which is changing. Nothing major has happened. Yet.
They say it's always calm before the storm.
I got up and headed to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth. I opened the door to head outside and found Ace about to knock.
"Come with me." He turned and started walking with a sorrowful face.
I was startled by the reaction, many thoughts ran in my mind as I got anxious about what could have happened. He led me to Josh's room, when we got in everyone was already there.
Josh's bedsheets were soaked in blood. I looked closer. He seemed to have been stabbed in the chest as his body lied lifeless there infront of us. Seeing a dead body didn't send goosebumps anymore, my senses got numb after slaughtering the undead for hours. His classmates where crying while the rest of the group just stared with pity.
Recently they have been a few occasions were I played video games with Josh and I got to know him better, I stood there and grieved with others.
"One of us here is a killer. We should find the person responsible for this."
"You are right, but we should first give Josh a proper burial." Ace replied to Dexter
"I don't get it, who would kill Josh. (sobs) He was a very nice person." A girl who was in josh's classmate lamented while wiping her tears.
"Don't worry, he will get justice." Lisa replied
Ace and I wrapped josh with a blankets and carryed him outside. We spent an hour digging a grave for him.
When we picked Josh and placed him inside the rest of the group became very emotional.
We stood there giving each other chances to say a few words, after we sent him our last prayers we all returned to the house.
Everyone surrounded the dining hall without saying a word, we only gave each other glances.
"So here is the thing, I think we should all report where each of us last saw Josh, and what we where doing, Don't leave anything." Ace suggested.
"What? are you the leader of the group now." Lisa replied.
Everyone's gaze shifted to me for the obvious reason.
"I don't remember being the one responsible for making decisions. Anyway Ace is right."
"I will go first. I last saw Josh during dinner then I went with Emily and Amanda to their room, we slept together yesterday."
We did see them after all.
Layla, Isla and Alice also last saw him after dinner when they left us watching tv.
"After getting my ass kicked a few times I left him playing the shooting game with Kean." Ace told his side of the story.
"So that means Kean was the last person who saw josh. Seems suspicious."
"What is suspicious, we play video games every night. What about you, you slept suspiciously early yesterday." I replied to Dexter.
"I was tired that's why I went to bed early."
"Sitting around doing nothing is really tiring? huh."
Dexter's expression darkened as he got irritated.
"My head was aching. Oh Mybe someone here got pissed after loosing and decided to take some extreme measures."
"Do you think I'm some psycho who kills people because of a dumb game? Besides I have never lost to him." I spoke wearing a poker face
"I saw you walking out of your room at midnight what where you doing Kean?" Dexter accused again his eyes still locked on mine.
I shrugged off his pearcing glare.
"Nothing just grabbing a glass of water, what where you doing at midnight when you saw me?"
"Nothing just taking a piss."
"Are we rea–
Ace immediately cut us off
"Ok ok that's enough of you too, let's just stop pointing fingers at each other without evidence."
"He was the last one to see him, and was seen creeping at night, what else do we need." The blonde girl replied
The tension in the room was intense, and every accusation was now focused on me.
"Just because Kean was with him doesn't mean he killed Josh." For the first time Layla looked pissed.
"In order to find the killer let's search this entire place, mybe we might find clues." I opined
"That's a really great idea Kean, nice thinking." Dexter praised mockingly.
We started with josh's room were the murder took place, we inspected the entire room, we went all over the drawers, closet, we even searched under the bed, this room was clean.
We then decided to start with the boys rooms downstairs then after we can check the girl's rooms.
We got into Dexters room and started searching, I was extra careful because this guy can't be trusted.
"Wow, do you ever get rid of the garbage." Ace spoke while holding empty packets of snacks.
Dexter shrugged
"Like your room will be any better."
After finding nothing in Dexter's room it was the same as Ace, we also found nothing.
"Your room is quite bigger, as expected of our leader."
I ignored Dexter's provocations and let them search my room. They started with my closit, flipped over my bed, rampaged the entire place, when they were about to give up Lisa walked to the second empty closit, he crouched and pulled a bottom drawer, he took back his hand after reaching for something and turned to us.
She carried the black metal box which had a padlock.
"Guys check this out!"
"Ohh ho ho ho ho will you look at that, what do you have here." Dexter curiously spoke.
"Like hell I will know, I have never seen that box." I replied
"I don't believe you, so give us the key."
"Are you deaf, I said I don't even know that such thing existed in that drawer, how would I know were the key is!"
"Ohhh ok, guys start searching for a small key that may fit in this tiny little hole here." He pointed at the padlock.
Ace and the four girls started ravaging the place again. Layla and Alice stood besides me, Alice had the same unemotional calm expression, on my left side Layla looked like she would murder them when they searched my belongings.
"Are you done with your little search." Alice spoke with a cold voice.
"One way or another I will find what's inside this box."
"What if he is hiding the key somewhere in his pockets." Lisa spoke, I noticed a faint evil smirk that soon disappeared.
Something isn't right here.
Dexter's hands where, already on my pockets, I felt him pull something metallic in my back pocket.
"So you don't have the key?"
He spoke while showing them his hand holding a small key, The whole room gasped, some gave me suspicious gazes as if I lied to them.
