Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: The Quittin’ kind?

While the sun began settling down, making way for the moon, an outfit of vanquishers from Onoria searched one of Italy's forests for some place to follow the sun's lead. The eldest Vanquisher, the headmaster, stretched his arms and legs before turning his gaze upwards towards the trees. The leaf-eyed Vanquisher sat down on a dirty log to fix his boots while keeping his eyes on the headmaster. "Sir? They're surrounding us— aren't they?!" He asked uncomfortably and with uncertainty. The other few men put their guard up knowing the answer from their headmaster's silence. Onoria's acting headmaster kept silent as he focused on sensing the presence of a redoubtable lemon chiffon inheritor. "Yes. This is going to be a decent bout and reward for us, men. He's this way, men!" Said the acting headmaster of one of the nation's vanquishing organizations before he gestured to the south. The leaf-eyed Vanquisher's heart began to beat with intensity as he eyes widened. "This is his power, this distance is pretty damn incredible, sir!" The leaf-eyed Vanquisher shouted with a gaping stare. The headmaster tossed his hand behind him, igniting the many weapons carried in a glorious lemon chiffon flame as he and the monster hunters enrolled into his academy who were also under his command marched towards the presence. "Don't let your anxieties overwhelm you, Junior." The headmaster advised as he kept his eyes shut tight, "Anyone suffering headaches and severe nosebleeds right now?" Asked the headmaster of the academy marching onwards. Each academy student answered him in their own ways. The leaf-eyed Vanquisher confirmed the nosebleeds. "I'm not suffering from either, headmaster, count on me to be at your side!" He shouted while gripping onto the handle of his sword. A strange monstrous bird swiftly flew down on the leaf-eyed Vanquisher releasing a sound powerful enough to almost blow out the ear drums of each Vanquisher including the headmaster before it flew away with its prey at an astounding speed. The headmaster and the academy's students recovered but remained lost. Recognizing the many expressions on his men's faces, dispirited, vengeful, confused, by what they had witnessed in this Italian forest of threats, the headmaster ignited their bodies with a glorious lemon chiffon bright flame. The academy hunting the monsters silently yet vigilantly continued their pursuit in the darkness of night and a few hundred more steps, they were met with the sudden realization of a few hundred scarlet eyes peering through the trees above them which left them puzzled. The headmaster clenched his fist close to his ear which set the lemon chiffon flames which engulfed his men to be fed and perfectly illuminated the area and trees leaving the wendigos hissing and frustrated yet the men able to sense the demonic force in them and allowed them to be aware of each monster's location. The swordsmen unsheathed their blades which ignited into a glorious lemon chiffon blaze while the gunmen and medics had drawn their firearms. Headmaster Louis Wiley silently gestured for his hunting force to have the swordsmen to guard the gunmen and unload their firearms. As he left the academy's top students allowing his eagerness to slay and Vanquish the lord of the wendigos who terrorized his city to overwhelm him. Louis eventually arrived in the area that he felt the Lemon chiffon essence the strongest yet instead of finding the wendigo-lord, the undisciplined Vanquisher stumbled upon a strange cabin. The closer he got, he had made his resistance towards the overwhelming presence of the mysterious Lemon chiffon more efficient. He found himself bewildered but confident that the Wendigo lord wasn't likely the threat he had been tracking. The headmaster bursted open the door armed with his bastard sword gripped tightly and readied. The headmaster gripped his wrist with the opposite hand as he stared out at the courtyard recollecting the ending to finish for his nephew with a grim expression. "I found the Wendigo-lord laying dead on the child's right, which had been clearly caused by the overwhelming vanquishing efficiency of his lemon chiffon. They're demons, so— to say lifeless is up for debate but he was no longer problematic. It was the most terrifying moment that I witnessed in my career, Amell, an eight year old capable of that power?! Something about the kid though in that moment eventually brought me comfort. The power he possessed and our side? Beautiful." Louis Wiley finished as his nephew detected a surprisingly more hopeful tone. Amell sat down in the office's guest chair rubbing his fingers through his lengthy dark locks.

As Derek and Alec attended the apprentice headmaster's tour, the youthful Wiley asked himself why they were ambling past doors interestingly labeled through each of the academy's corridors they passed through. Alec held the same thoughts and glanced over towards his best friend and noticed. "Yo, Lui, can we see inside of the containment room—?" Alec asked the apprentice headmaster, hoping to ease the cloudy atmosphere. Luigi abruptly stopped, halting the other two in their tracks as well. Derek kept his head down fitted with a blank expression while Alec stared vigilantly in the apprentice headmaster's direction. Luigi's brows made the Williams child uncomfortable. "Cease rubbernecking— you two are the sons of JinJunyë's Mist-Affliction and the Arch-Gumshoe of southern Carolina?" Luigi replied with a curious tone before switching his eyes between the two, "I'd like to hear more about them from their sons if you don't mind." He finished. Alec goggled in Derek's direction who had a solemn demeanor on him. "As the apprentice headmaster, he's a step below acting headmaster. He'd know." The youthful Wiley reminded his best friend. Derek gently nodded towards his best friend. Alec returned the gesture after being slightly hesitant. "He's a busy body. Home for a week to train with my brothers and I before he's vanished off to investigate the next bloody crime scene for the rest of the month." Alec answered the apprentice headmaster's request. Luigi switched his gaze to the youthful Wiley as he returned the glare. Alec clicked his tongue and shook his head catching the apprentice headmaster's attention. "Tell us where we're heading if this isn't a tour of the academy as we were led to believe, apprentice?" The Youthful Williams son shouted with a demanding tone. Luigi opened the door they had stood outside of the past few minutes to a humongous yard and grand garden with an arena in the center. "This academy inculcates and up-skills students in the investigation and defense of humanity against the supernatural we find lurking beyond every corner of the earth, fellas." Luigi informed the duo before a slew of students gathered and ambled past the apprentice headmaster and duo until they surrounded the arena outside. Alec couldn't help the dumbfounded expression the situation gave him while switching his gaze from Derek over towards the many students awaiting their introduction meanwhile. "What do you want to do, Dare?" He asked the youthful Wiley. Luigi calmed the essence being tugged by various factors within everyone present before he grabbed Derek's shoulder and leg swiftly ending with tossing him into the arena, then dodged an elbow thrown by Alec who stood beside him before repeating the toss with the son of South Carolina's pinnacle detective. "That was unsurprisingly much easier— who cares if you don't have the uniforms nor enrollment just yet, it's time for coming to blows." Said Luigi as he placed his hands behind him, clasping his right arm's wrist with the other hand. Derek removed and tossed away his beloved gray jacket. "Alright." The youthful Wiley replied with a whispery tone as he stretched and rolled his shoulders. Luigi smirked and chuckled from a distance which caught Derek's attention. "From coward— to bravery?!" The apprentice headmaster replied with a tone full of mockery. Alec sprinted to the youthful Wiley's hip and the duo squared up in synchronous fashion. Luigi found himself moving away from boredom into amusement as he kept his slight grin on him. "The walking garbage has a true pal. The future Caitiff Vanquisher and his sidekick against the top six of the class. Let's give them an unorthodox Onoria welcome!" The apprentice headmaster shouted with excitement the students surrounding Derek and Alec and the arena found unfamiliar in him. Derek realized as he squared up against six formidably trained opponents that he had a beaming smile. "I'm feeling as welcomed as ever." He replied before he rushed who he had suspected to be the weak link after observing the crowd in the arena. He launched a powerhouse of a jab which was dodged with relative ease from the suspected weak link before he was forced to block the weak link's counter which broke his defense before he felt a knee to his gut that crashed him down to his own. "Tch, wasn't expecting!" Before Derek groaned. Luigi made one of the students uncomfortable with how wide his smile was while spectating the scuffle. "Don't overestimate yourself— Headmaster Wiley trained these men himself to succeed in a much grander purpose than succumbing to cowardice, Dare bear!" The apprentice headmaster shouted aloud. Derek noticed that he was crawling back on his butt as the suspected weak link he charged first was taunting him as he inched closer. "Calm down and cool the eagerness. Quench my thirst." He reminded himself as he shut his eyes yet heard the weak link Vanquisher approaching with eagerness, he opened his eyes adopting a humorless expression on his mien as he rolled away while his opponent smashed into the white concrete material creating a spot where his fist were before it curiously repaired itself. Derek refused to be distracted. "Face any challenges that bring anxiety forth knowing they've got faith in me!" He thought to himself as he squared up for another round. Luigi's clap was heard through the arena and its many academy enrolled spectators. "C'mon, you're doing your family and the duty you were fortunate enough to be born with such a disservice with this hesitation to save this defenseless dork, Dare bear!" He shouted from a distance. Derek tried to maintain calming thoughts while witnessing Alec being stomped and kicked by their numerous Academy adversaries, he stood still and slammed his eyes shut as he began emitting smoke from his limbs. "When I'm furthest from myself—!!" Derek whispered to himself. A Vanquisher in the arena with down turned eyes grew impatient, the youthful Wiley heard his steps inching swiftly in his direction. A lengthy haired Vanquisher crossed his arms as he spectated the two coming face to face observing both carefully, squared up. "Is the eastern dude enrolling?!" He asked another spectator who shrugged away his question. The down-turned eyed Vanquisher began with a front kick which Derek speedily stepped before the youthful Wiley swept the vanquisher's leg. The late vigilante's son realized that he was surrounded one to five. He crashed into the ground then curled up into a ball as he felt a blunt force knock him on the back of his head. "One caught too much of my attention— could this be my future?!" Derek thought to himself while guarding his head as the top of the academy had been stomping on him. Smoke descended onto the yard filling the arena swift enough to rival the average cheetah, Derek and Alec only heard bodies thudding before it cleared away from the duo. The youthful Wiley arose to his feet after momentarily struggling from the immense soreness in his thighs, his immediate concern was Alec.
