Chapter 219 - Chapter 219 So that we can talk

"I assumed you had woken up and I was right," he said as he walked in and placed the food on the bed. "Good morning, uh, how did I end up here?" she asked. The last thing she recalls was being in that man's embrace. "You got stuck in the elevator. Do you remember?" he asked and she nodded.

"How did you find me?" she asked. "I came to pick you up but you were not there then I called your phone multiple times and it couldn't go through. It was then I heard the security personnels saying that the elevator had jammed for sometime. I waited until they worked on it and I found you," he explained. "Okay. Thank you." "It's my duty to take care of you." he said. When she started eating, he asked," Uh, do you remember getting stuck with someone in the elevator?"

She took a while to say," I don't remember that. Why?"

He shook his head and told her to continue with her food. He wondered if she was lying or if she truly didn't remember.

...

"What?!!" Li Jiang couldn't believe the things his mother told him. "It is hard to believe but it's the truth," she said. "Why does that woman hate Li Fei so much? What has she ever done to her?" "Nothing at all. She's just jealous," she replied. "Where's she right now? he asked. "God knows where. They told me that she escaped from them." "That woman is really dangerous. What are we going to do now?" he asked.

"I don't know. But I don't think she is aware that Li Fei is in Shenzhen. Don't you think she's safe there?"

"I don't want to take risks. I would have gone for her but I don't want to leave Xinyi especially now that she's heavily pregnant," he said. "I understand. Uh, about Li Fei and that man..." "He should stay away from her! He hurt her enough," he deadpanned.

"I thought the same. Do you think I should tell her about this?" she asked. "I would have said no because she might consider going back to that man but I don't want to keep things from her." She nodded her head in understanding.

...

"Li Jiang, you finally remember that you have a sister," said Li Fei when she picked up.

"Of course I remember it every single moment of my life. It's just that, I've been so busy. How are you?" "I'm alright. How is Xinyi?" she asked. "She's good. We just can't wait to meet our son," he said. "I know. I can't wait to meet him too. So, how's everything going on over there?" she asked. "Not bad. How is everything that side? I heard you and Jianyu are dating." "You did?! Who told you that?!" she couldn't believe it.

"Mother told me. Uh, Li Fei, I want to tell you that you did the right thing. You have to forget about him." "I know." "Anyway, I wanted to know when you hope to have some free time," he said. "Why? Is everything okay?" she asked. "Yes. Mother just wants to talk to you about some things in person," he said.

"I will see about next week then," she said.

"Alright. Have a good night."

When she hang up, she left the kitchen and walked to the living room where Jianyu was.

"Jianyu, what did we talk about?" she asked the moment she reached.

"What do you mean?" he asked back. "I remember telling you that we shouldn't involve our parents in this issue. Why did you tell my mother about us?"

For a moment, he didn't know what to say.

"Li Fei, it's just that, your mother has been waiting for this for so long. She even told me so at the airport when we were coming. I just wanted to make her happy," he explained. "You should have consulted with me first." "I know and I'm sorry. Please forgive me," he said and she looked at him.

The next day in the evening, she received a call from Jianyu informing her that he might not be able to pick her up from work.

When she left Zeroin Records, she stood on the roadside and waited for a cab. Still on the road, a white sedan came and parked just in front of her. When the mirrors rolled down, she saw him sitting at the driver's seat. "Let me drop you home," offered Jin Liwei. "No thank you," she replied and walked away.

"Please. We have something important to talk about," he said when he reached her.

"There's nothing to talk about with you," she replied.

The next second, he pulled over and she increased her steps to get away from him. As she was still going, she felt him tug at her wrist and she turned to glare at him. "What do you want from me?!" she demanded. "To talk. Just give me a few minutes so that we can talk," he said. "I don't want to talk to you! Haven't you done enough?! You achieved what you wanted. You made my life a living hell! So what now?! Do you want me to just die?!" she asked, clearly irritated. "No Li Fei. Just a few minutes of your time is all I ask for," he pleaded. "It is Ms Li Fei. I don't want anything to do with you. Stay away from me!" she shouted. "Li Fei, I want you to know that- " "Miss, is this man harassing you?" came a voice and she looked to see that it was an officer. "Yes sir. Please keep him away from me," she said before walking away. As she was still running away, she found a bus at the station and got in then took a seat at the extreme end.

When she peeked outside, she saw him looking everywhere for her and she hid herself until the bus started and left the place.

When she reached home, she went straight to bed. She couldn't help but wonder what he wanted to talk about. Weren't things cleared between the two of them?

Still in thoughts, her phone rang and she checked to see that it was the unknown number. Picking up, she said," Hello?"

"I only need us to talk," he said and her eyes widened in shock. "You?! It's been you all along?!" she exclaimed.

"Please Li Fei, let's meet and talk," he said instead. "It's been you sending the flowers?! Why?!! When will you leave me alone?!" she screamed before hanging up.
