"I just spoke to the personal assistant of the CEO of Jin Corps and he informed me that they will be sending a representative to discuss an endorsement deal with you," Ms Ghao informed Li Fei.
"Uh, Jin Corps?" she asked to be sure. "Yes. Is there any problem?" she asked. "Of course not. I will be waiting to receive them," she replied.
"Yes please. You can now take your leave,"she said and Li Fei left the office.
Why did Jin Corps decide to work with them? Did he want to make her life hell again?
She decided to wait for the time when the representative would come so that they could discuss the contract.
It was after lunch time when Li Fei was informed that the representative of Jin Corps was here to see her. "Please lead him in," she said to her secretary. A while later, the door was opened and on seeing who had come, she stood up immediately. What was this man doing here again?!! Like hell would she discuss with someone like him!
"Li Fei," he called as he walked in. Li Fei? Wasn't he supposed to address her formerly?
"Mr Jin Liwei," she called. His eyes narrowed and he said," Jin Liwei. I think we know each other too well to address ourselves formally don't you think?" "I think that we made things clear between us in the past, isn't it?" He took a seat and looked at her to say," Ain't you going to sit? Or are you going to run away just like last time?"
"Run away? Of course not. Why would I do that?" she asked as she took her seat.
"You ran away like a coward," he said. She cleared her throat and said," We should go straight to business Mr Jin Liwei."
When he didn't reply, she got the documents so they could start. She started explaining to him how they operated but he didn't reply a thing while she felt his intense gaze on her.
"Are you a thief, Li Fei?" he asked much to her surprise. "Huh? Why do you say so Jin-Mr Jin Liwei?" "It's only thieves that don't look people in the eye. How should I trust to do business with you if you don't look at me?"
"That's how I operate in business," she stated not raising her eyes to look in his.
"It's not the proper way," he said.
She raised her eyes to meet his for a second but she realized that she could drown in them and she immediately averted her gaze. "With all the respect that you deserve in this world Mr Jin Liwei, you can try else where if you don't find my way of handling business appealing."
"How rude," he murmured and she could tell that he was not offended. 'Why didn't you just send someone else?!!' she internally screamed. "Shall we go on, or have you gotten a change of mind?" she asked.
"Let's continue. Even though I'm being treated unjustly," he said crossing his legs together.
Li Fei went on with explaining but got no response from the other side. "Are following Mr Jin Liwei?" she asked but he didn't reply. Raising her eyes to see what he was up to, she caught him staring at her lips and he didn't look away even when he found out that she had caught him.
"Jin- Mr Jin Liwei," she called to gain his attention. "Yes, although I would prefer the former," he said. "Are you even listening to me?" she asked.
"I can't," he said. Her eyebrows furrowed and she asked," Why's that?" "Your lips..I want to have a taste of them," he mumbled shamelessly.
Her face turned red and she tried to get hold of her emotions.
"Can you act professionally? I'm going to be forced to cancel the deal," she said and she watched him get up. When she saw him walking towards her, she stood up and started taking steps back.
"What do you want?" she asked as she kept stepping back but he didn't reply and he kept coming. When she reached the wall, she gulped and said," Don't come. Stay back."
Coming to stand in front of her, he had hardly done or said anything when the door was opened and Suyin caught sight of them in an awkward position.
"I'm so sorry for the interruption. I will leave now- " "No, no. It was nothing. Mr Jin Liwei was just leaving," said Li Fei and she used this opportunity to escape from him. Grabbing her handbag, she briefly looked at him and said," My assistant will finish this. I'm sorry I can't go on from here. Please excuse me."
She dashed out of the office and Jin Liwei's jaws clenched before he chased after her.
'I'm so stupid! Why am I so weak when it comes to him? Urrghh!! I hate myself!' she cursed as she walked towards the elevator and on reaching, she entered and pressed the ground floor. Before it could close, he squeezed himself in and entered the elevator.
She decided not to pay attention to him, and act as though she hadn't seen him.
"Li Fei," he called. "Ms Li Fei," she corrected him. "We need to talk," he said and she looked at him.
