The moment she opened the door and left, he called one of the guards. "Follow the miss everywhere she goes and make sure that she's alright. Nothing should happen to her," he instructed. "Yes sir."
Yin Chen who was setting up the table for dinner caught sight of Li Fei moving lifelessly towards the door.
She placed the dishes on the table and hurriedly approached her, "Li Fei, what's wrong?" However, she didn't seem to hear her at all. "Li Fei, are you alright?" she asked tugging on her wrist. Looking into her eyes, they seemed distant as though her soul wasn't in her body. She definitely didn't miss on seeing the tears that had stained her entire face and how red she looked right now. Failing to get a response, she let go of her wrist and Li Fei continued walking away, getting out of the house.
Yin Chen didn't understand what was happening. It seems like the fight between the two had intensified. She then decided to go to the young Master's bedroom and inquire about what the problem was. Reaching the door, she knocked on it several times but got no reply.
When she opened it, she peeked inside the room searching for him until she caught of him sitting at the edge of the bed.
Slowly walking in, she realized that he was not in a good mood although his back was facing her.
She cleared her throat and said," Young Master, did something happen? I saw- " "I want to be alone," he interrupted before she could complete her sentence and her eyes widened in shock. What was with the voice?! Was he crying?!! She decided to insist," If there's something wrong you can- " "I said I want to be alone!!" he yelled at once and she quickly dashed out of the room. He had never spoke to her that way and she understood that whatever had happened, was very serious.
She left the house and went back to the backyard in search of Li Fei. Perhaps she could tell her what actually happened.
Unable to suppress the tears that were lingering in his eyes, he let them flow after all, he was in his own company. He couldn't remember the last time he cried. Was it the time he lost Shan? But he remembered that he did cry when he found out that she was innocent. He couldn't forget the pain he saw in her eyes and he would never forgive himself for putting her through it.
Searching around the whole place, Yin Chen didn't see Li Fei. She wondered if perhaps she came back to the house by the time she had gone to their bedroom.
Getting back inside, she searched in every room but she was nowhere to be seen.
She then went to the gate and asked the guards," Did you see the young miss leave by any chance?" "Yes, Ma'am. She left a couple of minutes ago," one replied.
"What?" she was surprised. "Yes but Bingwen followed her," one assured her and she slowly nodded. Nonetheless, she was worried about her. It was coming to nine and she wondered if she would be safe wherever she went to.
Li Fei couldn't tell where she was going. But she walked, walked and walked. She didn't seem to recognize the fact that she was barefoot. Along the way, she knocked a number of people she passed by and many insulted her while some made way for her and only a few pitied her.
She was sure of one thing though. That she was crying and her tears will never cease.
After moving for so long, she felt her legs hurt and she leaned against a wall for support.
Suddenly, she heard a sound of water flowing and looking for the source, she leaned and peeked through a railing, and it was then she realized that she was on a bridge.
Below it was a lot of water running at a very high speed.
Looking at it, an idea crossed her mind. Why doesn't she end this useless and miserable life of hers? If she threw herself off the bridge, she would surely die and join her father.
She realized that this was the best decision she has ever made.
Determination flashed in her eyes and she clutched the metal railing with both her hands before stepping on the lower one and pulled her body up so that she could jump off and before she could succeed, someone grabbed her from behind and dropped her on the ground.
She stood up with so much rage and shouted,"Don't you touch me! This is none of your business!" She attempted to run back to the railing when he tugged her wrist to pull her back and held her securely in his arms.
He pulled out his phone and called his boss.
"Sir, the young miss was trying to commit sucide," he reported. "What?!!" he exclaimed. "Yes. She was about to jump off the bridge but I came on time."
Jin Liwei cursed before saying," Make sure that nothing happens to her and, keep her there. Someone is going to come and pick her up."
Hanging up, he called Liling that instant.
"Mr Jin Liwei, is everything okay?" Liling asked the moment she answered. It wasn't usual for him to call her. "Your friend needs you," he said. "What is wrong with FeiFei?!" she exclaimed. "She's at Zhuang bridge and her life might be in danger," he told her. "Danger?! What happened?! What is she doing there?!" she asked and Jin Liwei said," Go and find her."
Liling remained confused after the call ended.
What was Jin Liwei meaning by she's in danger? Nonetheless, she left the restaurant and asked her driver to take her to Zhuang bridge.
"Don't touch me! Let me go!" Li Fei screamed as the man was holding her and she later got hold of his hand and bit him so hard. When he let go of her while yelping in pain, she ran back to the railing. She was intent on ending her life no matter what! As she was still climbing, the man came back and pulled her once again. "Stay away from me! Don't touch me!!" she screamed as she wriggled in his arms trying to free herself.
