Li Jiang looked at her and asked," How can I help you?" "Uhm...that you accompany me and convince Mom for me, please," she said.
"I already told you that I won't get involved with your issues, Li Fei," he said seriously. "Please Li Jiang, I know that it will be easier if you talk to her. This is my chance to be happy. I beg of you," she pleaded. He took a while to say,"I don't want to be among those who hurt her. She hates that man," he reminded her.
"I understand but I want to come clean and perhaps, Dad told me to prioritize my happiness and it's what I'm going to do. Please help me," she pleaded again and he took deep breath before saying," I will think about it." "Thank you, thank you. I know you will help me," she said hopefully. "I don't want to give you false hope," he said to which she nodded.
During the past two months, Zhan had been summoning the courage to carry on the plan but she failed each time she wanted to do it. Remembering that she was going to kill someone, she would back out at the last minute. Liu Han on the other hand was pestering not giving her a moment of rest as she called her several times to threaten her.
A week passed but Li Jiang hadn't told Li Fei his decision about the request she had made to him. One day as the three were done with having dinner, Li Mei wished them a good night before leaving the two at the table. She had come to accept that her husband was no more and that she had to be strong for her children.
Before Li Fei could leave, Li Jiang said," I need to tell you something." Sitting back, she looked at him to say," Yes." "Before I can get to decide, I need to talk to that man first," he said and she thought for a while before saying," I will inform him."
The moment she went back to her room, she called and informed Jin Liwei who readily agreed.
Finally, it was the day Li Fei had scheduled for the both of them to meet and for some unknown reason, she was nervous.
It was around two in the afternoon when Jin Liwei called and informed her that he was in the parking lot of Li enterprises and her nervousness increased. She rushed to Li Jiang's office and found that he was just from having his lunch. "He's in the parking lot," she informed him. "I'm waiting," he said and she nodded before exiting the office.
Reaching the parking lot, she spotted Wang Mel who was standing besides a white car and she made her way towards it.
Jin Liwei on seeing her got out of the car and the moment she reached him, he sealed his lips with hers. When he pulled away, she looked around and said," Someone might see us." "I wish they do," he said earning a glare from her. "He's waiting for you," she said and he nodded.
The two walked hand in hand towards the elevator when she asked," How is Shanghai?" "Boring without you," he replied and they entered the elevator.
The moment it closed, he pulled her waist and kissed her lips. It was not until it stopped did he release them.
"You should behave. You're going to talk to my brother and he's strict," she warned him as she wiped the lip gloss that had gone on his lips.
"I find it hard to control myself with that lavender scent of yours," he said and she glared at him.
The elevator stopped right in front of the CEO'S office and she was glad that no one else had seen him apart from the receptionist and she was sure that they must assume it's business related. Walking to the CEO'S office, she pushed the door open and went in first with him following.
Hearing the door open, Li Jiang raised his head and saw that Jin Liwei was here. He was dressed in a navy blue tuxedo that well complimented his skin. Surprisingly, Jin Liwei was one of the businessmen he grew up looking up to in the business world. He took a seat opposite him and stared at him with confidence. In all due honesty, Li Jiang was finding it weird to question such an important figure.
"Good afternoon Mr Li Jiang," he greeted him. Jin Liwei too was finding it hard humbling himself towards someone who was a junior to him in every aspect. In age, business, experience, achievements, but he knew that he had to for the sake of Li Fei. "Good afternoon Mr Jin Liwei," he replied and he looked at Li Fei who had taken a seat ready to listen to what they were going to talk about. "Give us a moment Li Fei," Li Jiang said much to her surprise.
"But why? I also want to listen," she said and Jin Liwei gave her a look as if telling her to do as told. She pouted her lips and left the office just like a little girl who's been scolded by her parents.
Jin Liwei turned his eyes to look at Li Jiang who was studying him carefully too. He realized that he was going to turn into a good business man because he had seen that Li enterprises had turned better ever since he became CEO. Seeing the way he protected and guided his elder sister as if he was the older one showed him that he was also a great leader.
"Mr Jin Liwei, I want you to know that I don't like you and I don't think I ever will," stated Li Jiang as a matter of fact and Jin Liwei wasn't surprised. He continued to say," But for the love I have for my sister, I can put it into consideration. She went through a lot no, you put her through a lot and I find it surprising that she can harbor any feelings for you other than hate and disgust. You don't deserve her at all, I hope you know it," he stated. "I very well know it and although it's useless, I want you to know that I regret everything I did to her and your family. I love her with everything I have and I will never hurt her again. I'm willing to do anything within my capacity for you and your mother to accept me," he said.
"Now you're talking. I have only one condition," he said. "State it," said Jin Liwei. "You will have to sign an agreement that will guarantee a transfer of ten percent shares of Jin Corps in my name if you ever hurt her in any way," he stated.
He very well knew that as a business man, he wouldn't accept because just one percent share of Jin Corps was so valuable. Ten percent meant a lot and there's no way he could agree to lose that much. But to his surprise, he replied," Fine. Let me sign the document."
Li Jiang was so surprised and he hadn't even worked on the document because he was sure that he was going to refuse. Did he love her that much? Getting an excuse, he said," My legal team is still studying the document and I will send it to you as soon as they are done." "I will be waiting then," he said.
