"You don't have to come this side. We're in Jinshan. We shall be coming to Huangpu after she gets first aid," he said.
"But I can't wait to see how she is," she replied.
"Don't worry. I'm coming back after confirming that she's okay. I'm sure that they will also be there tomorrow morning," he said.
"Okay I will wait. But did you find that criminal Caihong?" she asked. "I will tell you when I get there." "Okay then. Let me talk to her when you reach to her, okay?" she asked and he accepted.
The moment Jin Liwei took Li Fei to the hospital, he instructed a female doctor to check her thoroughly to ensure that she was fine. A short while later, Jing Yue arrived after being directed by Wang Mel. "How's she?" he asked the moment he approached him.
"She's being worked on," he answered. "He's still alive. He's going to be treated," said Jing Yue.
"That's great."
A long while later, a doctor came to inform them that everything was perfectly fine and that she was just exhausted. He also told them that they could see the patient and Jin Liwei immediately walked to the room.
She was laying on the bed, her hair braided into one. She was attached to a water drip and he was glad that her complexion was better, than how they arrived. A bandage was wrapped around her head so as to cover the wound on her forehead. He walked to sit next to her on the bed as his fingers subconsciously stroked her hair. Just then, the door opened and Jing Yue came in. "I'm heading back to Huangpu. When should we expect you?" he asked glancing at the sleeping Li Fei. "When she gets better," he answered. "Okay then take care. Will be waiting for you," he said before leaving.
Jin Liwei called Wang Mel and ordered to get him a set of clothes before making his way to the bathroom to bathe.
On coming back, he stood next to her bed as he watched her sleeping peacefully. A while later, he went to sleep on the other bed that was in the same room. The moment his head hit the pillow, he immediately drifted off to sleep having spent a number of sleepless nights.
In the middle of the night, he was woken up by Li Fei who was screaming and he immediately approached her. She had sweat covering her forehead. Looking at her closed eyes, he could tell she was having a nightmare.
"Please Caihong don't! Don't do this to me! Help me Jin Liwei! Please help me!" she was mumbling and he became confused on what to do. Inching closer, he softly called her," I'm here and you're safe."
"Jin..Jin Liwei, please save me," she mumbled once again twisting in the bed and he decided to lay besides her. Embracing her, his lips inched close to her ear and he whispered," I'm here. Go back to sleep now."
She didn't say anything after that and he heard her breathing evenly.
In the morning, Li Fei opened her eyes and she found herself in a hospital bed. She sighed in relief on seeing that she was no longer in that place. At some point, she thought that she had been dreaming. She remembered being found and saved by Jin Liwei and she sat up then looked around the room but he wasn't there. She knew that he had been there because she could feel his scent lingering in the air. She slowly got down from the bed and began moving but her legs became numb which made her fall down.
Just then, the bathroom door opened and Jin Liwei saw her struggling to get up. He quickly approached her and carried her towards the bed. "Where were you going?" he asked after placing her on the bed. She couldn't tell him that she was looking for him and she said," I-I was going to the bathroom but then my legs became numb and I lost balance." The next moment, she felt him carry her towards the bathroom leaving her startled. When he placed her inside, he said," If you need help with anything, let me know." She blushed at his words and she wondered if he was caring because of what happened.
A while later, she came back walking slowly and he helped her sit on the bed. "What would you like to eat?" he asked. "I will eat anything. Uhm...Mr Jin Liwei, thank you for saving me. If you hadn't come on time... thank you so much," she said not wanting to remember the embarrassing position he had found her. Jin Liwei only nodded and excused himself out of the room for a moment. Li Fei wondered what might have happened to Caihong. The last she remembers was Jin Liwei strangling him. Although Caihong had done awful things to her, she didn't wish him to die. Somewhere, she still considered him a friend because he was the only person who stood up for her during the most difficult moment of her life.
A while later, a nurse brought in breakfast and she immediately started eating because she was famished. As she was still eating, Jin Liwei came back and for some reason, she started being cautious about how she ate. He told her to finish everything and when she did, he made sure that she took her medicine as prescribed. He then gave back her phone and she was surprised that he had it.
"How did you get it?!" she asked. "I somehow did. Do you need anything?" he asked. "No, I mean I only want to know something. Is Caihong..." "He's not dead. He's being treated," he answered and she was relieved. "So then, is he going to jail?" she asked. "Do you want that?" he asked and she immediately shook her head in denial.
"He's not. Prison is not what he needs but rather a mental institution," he replied. "Why?" she asked.
