Ting,
The bell on his ankle rang, he ignored it due to frustation. He keep tapping on his fingers trying to resolve this situation. He can move into the water, but his level of magis will eventually decreases to zero if he stay to much in it.
Besides, the water is dwell by another creature and possibility filled with their magis is higher. Besides, He never been into the lake before so jumping into someone's home and aim for murder, he is the one will die.
Ting,
"Why are you keep ringging!" He screamed.
"What?" His mood mood shifted to a good mood. He remembers, Lailita was wearing his bracelet when she dragged into the lake ,
"Yes!" A radiant amber light line flashed from the crystal inside the core of the bell. The bracelet was carried for a traditional value over centuries ago. At first it was a necklace with a scarket crystal as a pendant, the design was slightly changes decades,
The new design was carved differently, before the users of the necklace mamage to detect other wearer by sounds, however, the sound was complicated to listen too since thousands of them wearing the same design,
So, the new design crafted accorded to two people, with the same sound, a radiant light with the same colour as the crystal inside the bell(core) line up to where the other wearer located. The genius who uprgraded that traditional item, was none other than, himself.
Ting,
Quickly Jones took out the bracelet and wear it on his wrist, the metal reacted to the size of his wrist before it stay still and,
Ting!
Jones see, into the crystal, listening to the tinking sound, letting his mind out of anything, imagining where she could be, how is she,
Ready?
This is the fifth time he put his feet into the cold lake, and also the fifth time he pull his feet back. He was brave and determined 10 minutes ago, and now he is questioning his decision.
She is dead, I think she is dead, I should go and tell father I failed him hahahaha!
No, he will slash me with mortal sword, and that hurt as hell! Maybe I'll come back and tell him she's not born yet?
No? No! I must not tell anyone I found her, she is mine,
He forgot he excluded himself from the mission and dispatched himself from the pack and decided to live alone. If he goes home now, his people might not recognize him either since he chance a lot.
He's being reluctant because he sees nothing inside the crystal. The reason everything is dark leads to one answer, Lailita must be unconscious. Or the nymph lured her after she reacted to her call and control her since then.
Aakkk! Aakk!!
Jones reached his chest, honestly his wound from his past fight isn't completely heal yet. Yes, physically the draggers did not do anything that causes his body any harm. It was something else that causing him this pain. And that certain thinks well that make him unable to dump into the lake and save lailita.
His knees are trembling, sweating too much is good to get rid lf a heat.
"I am not in the sky....but it's too cold" his temperature was dropping every second. Jones knew his condition is worst compared to last night.
The sound of those crows is indeed annoying to hear as if they were preying on something that is about to die.
"Wait.. that's me," he sat down on the boulder closes to the lake. He pulled his feet from the water since the water will drew out his magis (mana) if his skin exposed to much within the area that isn't his.
Jones stop moving. Only his eyes glances around his surrounding especially into the sky. His vision focused on those beings on top of brances, he gulped. He looked down, gulping nonestop, blood rushing in and out of his veins, he's in the verge on crying.
He is petrified.
Jones closes his eyes, he can feel his heartbeat since his palm is still on his chest, petrying too much that his teeth were clattering.
"I need to go home" he walked away from the shore, but he was stopped by a splashing sounds. He is too afraid to look back, because he knew, a certain thing was coming at him,
Pat, pat, It was wet, had no intention of concealing its presence. Jones decided to walk faster, no matter what he do, the pain in his chest troubling him, something sharp kept pricking on his heart everything he moves,
Noises came out of his mouth as he moves while gasping for air. The flapping sounds of those crows made him walked faster. "Ergh" Jones groanes. He walk.
Pat,
then walk,
Pat,
keep on walking,
while a certain thing keep on approaching him, "darn it" Jones notices the ground he was walking was wet. The level of the water from the lake increases, " I knew something was off with this place" he made a wrong turn, this place was the place he never visited. To be precised, avoided.
How did I ended up here?
Pat...pat... pat...
"Argghh!" The trembled knees plooped within the mud, his sweats got into his eyes that he cannot see clearly. But that does not meant he did not know what is infront of him.
Arkk! They were not a pack of doves, although they are white. They are not crows either, since they are not black.
The black spot at the end of the birds' feathers, He instantly regret saving Lailita from the draggers. Then, he won't lost in thoughts and trapped himself inside of this place.
This place is not that dangerous, but that depends on what the owner of this place think of you.
Why did I go here? How did I ended up here?
He remembered. The night was darker the day before, they were afraid the demons taunting over Lailita will get to them.
Lailita shoved her finger toward a location which was brighter among all other places, leading them into the nymphs' camp.
"This creature weren't here, their existence isn't true, they were made-damn it!"
Centuries ago, approximately 400 years ago, at the end of the great war of five major kingdoms, plenty people from a lower status dies and their body were left unburied. The land was meant for people who deserves, those who contributed nothing during the war, according to people form a higher ground, agreed to tied a burden on to the legs of dead people, before sinking them into the sea.
Job is a job after all, noble would not bother to do a messy job that doesn't brings money, they likes to show wealth.
Unlimited posters could be seen among the streets, hiring people to toss out the dead into the sea. One gold gold per 100 dead body.
It wasn't the ocean where they civilized, it was into the deepest, unknown area where the only hired and the hiring agency knew about.
So on, the story never ends, until a man whose getting rich by sinking millions of dead body into someone's territory, found something out of ordinary.
He met a woman, he met a child, a man, yes they are in flesh, but not in clothes, they do look like a decent human, but they arose from the water, they do have a mouth, yet they talked inside the head.
He return. Alive. He was told to go back but he insisted not so, he said he made a promise, to a lady. She was everywhere, following him since,
She promised she is willing to hurt whoever tainting her home with blood. She won't be the one killing those people, it will be the people who died unjusticely, laid without a proper burial bounds,
"You will dragged and lay along with them," soon after, it was only her sillouthe observing, when they thought she was gone, they decided to forget what has been promised.
She is not there, but she still seeing everything either way. Through the eyes of a dead crows and doves that she mix together as a jinx for stubborn humans.
Crack.... crackkk..
Fingers, slimy fingers laid on his feet, It was cold. The grip was that hard, he brushes it off few times. But he afraid to look back.
He quickly got up and run, yet the hands grabbed his legs. Before he could even scream, the sea creature preached his legs, the nails stucked to his bones.
"Arghh!" Jones twisted his body and uses his falcon ability so the sea creature that is dangling on his legs would shatter to pieces. Shamely, she's still in a good shape,
"haaaaahahhaaa" she laughed in a weird way.
"She's dead, I won't be in pain if I kill her right?" Everytime she crawled to get into his body, he got a goosebump. And the sea creature will laugh.
Those birds were oddly quiet, making the laugh the noises sound striking his ears. At the end of the lake, heads were popping out of the water waiting the girl, waiting for him.
"Help me" his eyes shines if he's using his ability, as he did right now. The ringing bell from the bracelet on his wrist made him remember a telecomunnication device he crafted not too long ago.
He likes accessories, he wears them everyday, so he makes sure to design something that he can wear almost daily.
Jones releases one of his hand that he uses to pressed on the sea creature's head, he touches his earing. The burgundy crystal flickered,
"Ion..."
"Help me" he fainted.
