Chapter 10 - Darkness camouflaging among lights

When the blue sky was alternately themed around the darkness of night, the moon's rays floated on the throne of twinkling stars. The often gloomy Amorist range looks bright. On the banks of the river, the figure of an old man with a slightly gray neckline was clearly visible in the moonlight

A steady stream of steam came out of his rather pale mouth. His chest heaved for breath. With his aging nature, he did his best to kick the stone bridge that his wife had built yesterday. "What did your wife do in the river yesterday" the old grandmother asked in a hoarse voice as her hand massaged Merliah's stomach.

When he told that Merliah had built a stone bridge at the end of the river while waiting for her and her younger brother to catch fish,

grandmother raised her voice to scold Jasom with an oath of allegiance. He urged Jasom to demolish the stone bridge again. Because the child in her grandson's womb is like holding on to the umbilical cord in her mother's womb and refusing to come out.

Angered by the non-collapse of the bridge, Jasom shouted in anger. He paused for a moment because he felt something was wrong, the man in his 30s closed his eyelids tightly for a few seconds then he opened his eyes again, Jasom's dark black eyeballs grew angry covering almost all of his white eyes. He was a little surprised to find that the stone bridge was covered with a kind of copper red wood veins that are intertwined with several strands of clear thread like wind.

The two elements seem to hold the stones tightly to prevent them from collapsing. His old heart whispered. whose magis is this? Hybrid? which is invisible to the naked eye.

Remembering his wife's condition, he read something as fast as lightning and touched the surface of the stone bridge -his palm was infusing lighting spark-

The veins break one by one. Eventually it permeates into the river rock and changes the color of the rock to copper red before disappearing.

DUPP .. the rocks began to fall rolling to the bottom of the river deeper. Just about to turn around to go home, Jasom was thrown backwards when a hot air greeted his body as if hit by a hurricane. His eyes widened slightly, he laughed to himself after knowing something. "My child is really strong" he said again.

"one is mine.. " a sudden glance causing Jasom to see a noir reflection outside of Marg barrier, with a rush he march up hill.

"Congratulation Jasom, you had twins" His grandmother handed over the youngest towards his arms where he named her Lailita, and the eldest called Laila. She was sleeping peacefully beside her mother's.

'how did he knew merliah was carrying a twin?" Jasom was bewildred recalling Angelo words, on a second thought, the 3 live he meant what their owns. After a while, he wonders Which was the choosen by the demons.

"your eldest daughter seems to fated a painful journey child" His grandmother suddenly talking while chewing something in her teeth, if it not for her grey hair people whom didn't know about this tribe would mistaken this grandma for a young lady even if she is in her 80s.

The more magis reside in naekais', the more they hard to age and to kill, the had the same level as niran and even better.

"really?" Jasom had a feeling he should not trust his grandma, actually not long before Angelo told him that their grandmother was a bit different from her usual self,

'maybe she died..and we didn't know..' according to Angelo, the eldest was hiding a secrets from young generation starting from the thinning of Amorist barrier, It was supposed to be streghtened each year, oddly they became weaker fifteen years after the prophercy had fore-told.

Angelo also believed, many of the eldest was noir resembling naekai people and killing them from inside, as a proof.. he saw many died with his own eyes, but came back home alived like nothing happened.

"what must we do grandma?"

"either one of them will be eaten by noir, mostly the strongest one.. just like your son,"

"we must sealed her power.." she was about to grabbed laila.

"Which one?" Jasom stood up quickly, laying both of her daughter on the same lane when Wilma wasn't looking he changed his twin's position.

"that one" his grandma was pointing at lailita Which was supposed to be laila, Jasom hid his face, felt betrayed, he knew his grandmother was assuming laila to be lailita, and she was about to sealed it by herself. but why? to forbid me unsealing the seal?

"why must we do that? i never told you my daugthers had magis.. nor did the noirs choses one of them.. how did you know Which?" The grandma numbed that she was scrathing her head refused to answer.

"I sealed her by myself.. " Jasom replied. He realized Wilma intentions in sealing Laila's power maybe to let lailita being eaten maybe that is why.

"I think brother..there's life outside, sometimes I heard various beautiful sounds from these walls, beautiful lady with wings in sky..i wish i could grabbed her and made her mine" Angelo stroke his back and sighed,

"nothing's out there.. maybe it's noir you're seeing brother," Angelo shooked.

"if I tell you long ago we had wings you wouldn't believed me either don't you Jasom?..for me, This walls had something behind it.. it led us to something, but on order to get inside and to erect this..." Angelo knocked the walls from wisteria branches using his entire nails,

"It needs a veryyyy..strong magis,"

"bullshit.. no one will survive if they went into the woods fully loaded with magis..noirs will sniff and eat those people" Jasom was laughing and coughing at the same time, thought Angelo was joking, Nevertheles, Angelo did not agreed that his own jokes, but was staring deeply towards Jasom,

"are mad?..It's a joke right?"

"how did you think i walked every night here unscathered? did you think elders sealed youngster magis for a protection? i don't think so... "

"what's gotten. into you? you're scaring me.. " Jasom suddenly got scared and beg Angelo to leave the forest as it already sunset,

"it's not to avoid them getting eaten by noirs..it's to avoid us to leave this place! -othello told us noir could only destroy with magis.. but the elders seal them away.. do you believe me now? " -

The memories from 3 months ago echoing in his ear for 5 minutes Jasom was quiet, All of sudden Angelo words were making sense.
