Sami looked at the trio from Vajra Peak's expression of disbelief and swiftly moved too the spire. Before the others could react he choose his difficulty and disappeared.
"Well good luck everyone," Alice said, "Let's see who comes on top."
"Yes!" the other 3 shouted as they all choose their respective difficulties and disappeared into the spire as well.
"Ah I forgot to mention after you choose the realm of the aura holograms you can not change it, so choose wisely but the number of holograms double each time you defeat them." the member of staff's embarrassed voice rang in the now half empty square. "Also you can't use the equipment you have on you."
Samael observed his surroundings, he was in an all white room shaped like a cube. There was a weapon rack in a corner and a gate that said exit. He tried to call Gluttony but it did not respond he realised he couldn't use his weapon so he went to grab a weapon however before he could a completely red humanoid figure appeared and began blasting him with attacks. The Trials had started.
He dodged the poison bullet shot at him, it landed to the side and quickly corroded the floor, Sami retaliated by sprinting towards the hologram and struck with a gravity aura punch. It squashed the hologram into a pancake and the aura it was made of shattered.
After the hologram was destroyed the room restored itself back to it's original state white and spotless.
"Well that was easy, too easy?" Sami thought out loud.
He went towards the weapon rack and finally picked up an ordinary neutral aura great sword. As he was going turn around more attacks were aimed at him, he now had to face two holograms but once again he easily defeated them.
"Ah I guess they increase by one, that makes more sense."
Four more quickly spawned in Samael had to use Chef's dance to quickly and precisely deal with holograms the flame aura on the sword burning the figures to ash.
"Nope they double, fuck me!"
Eight red figures appeared all rushing towards Samael some of them had weapons in their hands, a huge hologram with armour and a great shield charged into him the earth aura rushed towards him like a boulder, he simply conjured a blast made of ice to freeze and shatter the Aura being.
The other holograms continued to attack, two of them fusing their wind and lightning auras to create a devastating attack Samael was forced to defend creating a barrier made of Dark aura. The attack collided with the barrier producing a colossal shockwave which destroyed the attack and the barrier.
Sami used the chaos to rush out and conjured a space element sphere which vaporised all the holograms.
Before he could even take a breather, 16 figures rushed towards him. Some of them had more than one element, fusion became commonplace on the battlefield. It started becoming more and more difficult so Sami had to slow down attacking the holograms one at a time. He used the time element to speed himself up and slow everything else down in a 2m radius so he uses less aura.
When the bombardment of aura entered his domain they all slowed down to a crawl making it easier to dodge, Samael was like a fish in water gracefully moving out the way of the attacks.
Chef's dance was slicing and dicing the holograms with each shatter of aura the pressure on Samael became smaller and after around 20 minutes he had finished this round.
Thirty two beings appeared and the pressure loomed over Samael, even if he is a genius, geniuses have their limits. What made this battle even harder was that some of the holograms had elements such as life, death and even space. The space user was teleporting its teammates making it harder to dodge.
"Oh for fuck sakes!" he said as he rushed in with his sword up high.
In another combat trial, a monk was holding a Tetsubō from the Weapon rack smashing the holograms into pieces, he was currently fighting 16 holograms and only nine were left. He was breathing heavily but his demonic eyes glinted with a chaotic flame.
The Tetsubō in his hands began to glow red hot and the air began to burn, he leaped into the air and brought his weapon down the hologram completely melting when it came into contact with the studded bat.
He fused his holy and devil aura, the golden white and eerie purple combined and blasted the remaining nine figures into slag.
"Amitabha"
A different room.
A tiny figure was moving in the cube shaped room her legs kicking the holograms shattering their limbs and a swift strike knocked off one of their heads. Floating on top of her head was a pair of jade rabbit ears made of aura and on her calves were a pair of metal vambraces.
Feng Yutu was also fighting 16 holograms but there were only Tier 8. Her feet blasted out attacks of wind and light obliterating the aura beings.
In another combat room, a girl with cheery blossom hair was piercing her opponents with spikes made of earth aura. She conjured aura weapons and flung them at her 32 Tier 8 opponents. Xiao Ying regretted choosing such an easy difficulty but at least she quickly increased the number of holograms getting her more points.
In a healing trial room, a beautiful and holy dark elf was sitting in the centre her body was radiating with a fusion of healing, wood and life aura. 32 holograms with broken bodies and limbs were quickly recovering. The holograms were surprisingly Transcendence realm Floor 1 and the girl in the middle was only Tier 8.
As she was healing them she looked up revealing her face, she had beautiful and glowing dark brown skin with divine golden eyes, she had long black dreads that had golden thread running through it and was wearing a white and gold dress that gorgeously contrasted her skin. She looked like a fairy in the mortal world, pure and kind.
Even though she was sitting down you could estimate her height to be around 1.60 metres to 1.65 metres tall.
In another combat room an expressionless and apathetic woman cut down the holograms before her, even when she got injured her face didn't change she just continued swinging her Tai Chi Sword.
Even though she looked indifferent it couldn't hide her beauty, she looked to be Chinese (if she was from earth) and she had tied up black hair and dark brown almost black eyes. She looked to be extremely slim with long and beautiful, toned legs she was also wearing Daoist robes similar to Feng Yutu's.
Sounds of charming laughter came from another trial, the sound of whipping resounded throughout the white cube. An extremely seductive girl was striking the holograms with a sadistic smile on her face, her red lips looked alluring. She had wine red eyes that radiated with charm.
She had wavy ginger hair and freckles on her pale white face, fangs appeared in her mouth when she smiled it was clear that she was a vampire. Her body was filled out in all the right places, she was an absolutely stunning woman.
A feeling of cold came from another combat room, the originally white cube was completely frozen over in an eerie purplish ice. A tall woman was standing in the centre with just 8 holograms facing her but they were all Floor 3 Transcendence and she was only Tier 8!
Her body was injured and bleeding but the smile on her face was as wide as ever. Her pale grey eyes shone manically, her fighting intent was increasing by the second she looked like a solider ready to go to war, the gladius in her hand glowed dangerously and swung at the nearest hologram bringing an avalanche on the figure.
In a scarily quiet combat room was a very handsome man he had curly chestnut hair and an angular face but his eyes looked like clocks. The holograms in this cube were moving at a crawl and all the attacks were seemingly floating to the man. The man waved his hands and the 16 holograms were vaporised, erased from time.
32 Holograms appeared and sweat appeared on the young man's brow he couldn't slow down time everywhere so he had to reduce the radius to only 3 metres around him.
In another room a very youthful boy was teleporting around the cube, he made it so that the holograms attacks hit each other, his playful laughter rang throughout the room, he treated this 'trial' as a simple game. He looked towards the ceiling and smiled he looked thoroughly happy.

Info of the day - The Roman Empire
It is based off of ancient Greece and Rome, it is the first human empire but not territory.
They are adjacent to the Britannia Empire and are very military orientated. They have some of the best armies in the world and are known for their innovations in the past and great battle tactics.
A lot of their territory is made out of marble and they invented flying ships.
Flying ships are probably one of the most important inventions in the world of Verus because ancient Teleportation circles can be pretty easily destroyed and used to be expensive to use. The Enchanted flying ships reduced the price as many people could travel at once and increased safety as runes were used to increase the defence of the ships.
