Aether ducked behind a large rock as the Fae once again opened her mouth and let out an ear piercing voice. He covered his ears and cast a spell of silence around himself just to try and protect his eardrums from rapturing again.
Despite the spell, the Fae's voice still reached his ears, albeit not quite as loud and harmful. He shook his head in disbelief as the voice died down, and he let go of the spell of silence. How could everything she did ignore his spells and magic? It made no sense.
He bit his lips as he peeked over the large rock he was hiding behind. Her attention was still on the Council's settlement. He could see troves of people escaping, running from their lives as they rushed through the gates, towards the distant parts of the caverns.
