A bolt of each element rushed towards Aether as the group of cloaked mages released their spells.
"Barrier," He hissed as his fingers clenched around the hilt of his dagger. The smooth, leatherbound hilt was warm as he had been holding it for a while now. Read to draw it from its sheath, he dashed forward, into the tunnel, letting his shield prevent their spells from harming him.
With each hit against his barrier, he could feel his mana slowly drain away. It wasn't an issue though, he had more than enough mana to take care of these people.
His steps carried him across the short distance between him and the group of cloaked mages. He drew his dagger from it's sheath just before he reached them and buried it into the first mage's chest.
A muffled grunt sounded as the man fell to the ground, lifeless. The remaining four mages all stepped back as they realised their spells hadn't had an effect on Aether.
