The narrow tunnel seemed endless. Both Freya and Fen had started panting, their steps had slowed down. The upwards slope of the tunnel was clearly taking a toll on them.
Aether sighed, he could feel their gazes on his back, and he was well aware of how they kept some distance between him and themselves. They were probably scared, taken aback by the violent deaths he caused just a short while ago.
"How did you convince Iris to play along with this?" His low voice echoed in the tunnel.
Freya flinched, then chuckled. "She was already happy that at least someone still remembered you, so we just asked her to help us find you. When I told her that you were going somewhere called the Depths of the Crystal Caverns, she was already on board with the idea."
