Quite a while passed before Freya spoke again. Iris' harsh, almost angry voice had caught her by surprise. They passed by several other groups of dead black mages, and fought off a few other creatures, mostly thanks to Mara's uncanny ability to tell where they were.
Eventually, they neared the lit up cavern wall that once was far off in the distance. There was a lake in their path, and just before the lake, another handful of dead bodies.
"Something's off." Fen muttered as they approached the bodies. Freya didn't quite understand what her younger brother meant at first. There were five bodies on the rock surface by the lake.
"What do you mean?" Mara asked, quickly covering her nose with a handkerchief. Could she smell the scent of death already? How long had these bodies been dead?
