"Don't cry Canny", he rubbed soothing circles on her back . "I hate her !" She gripped onto his shirt even more tightly . "Hush now . She's your mother . She will understand ." "She's not my mother ! Mothers are not like her ! They are supposed to love their children", she sobbed . Thomas didn't know what to do . He didn't know how to comfort her , he didn't know whose side to be on , he didn't know how to stand with Carina and he didn't know how to fight against Sophia . "Tommy", she mumbled . "Yes Canny ?" He whispered . "I don't want to stay here anymore . I want to leave ." His eyes widened ,"But Canny..." "With you", she cut him off . Her eyes were crystal clear . They spoke the truth . "Let's leave this place Tommy . You and me ."

Carina walked to her new chamber , a million thoughts rushing in her head . Thomas was right . She knew it deep down . Her mother-in-law was a calculative lady . If she wanted to stay here in peace , she would havd to please her . She thought of an idea . She would ask her to dinner and discuss things . She would wear a mask of innocence and deceive Lyanna . She was good at that . That was the one thing her mother had taught her properly . Her mother...Where was she ? Maybe planning and plotting on how to make her daughter's life miserable . Why was she even thinking about her ?
Carina got startled as she heard some noises of glass breaking . She grew suspicious . The noise seemed to come from Charles's chamber . She took a few steps towards it . Another noise came . And then another . Carina gulped as she debated whether or not to open the door . Her heart beat rapidly in her chest as she twisted the door knob . The door opened with a creak to reveal a room full of shards of broken glass . "A chandelier", she thought to herself . She entered the room and heard loud panting as if someone was trying to calm down . She noticed someone curled up in a ball in the far corner of the room . "H-hello ?" She asked , gradually scared . The person turned to look at her . Carina's eyes widened . "Ch-Charles ?"
