CHAPTER EIGHT (b)

I'm sorry. Thank you for been patience". She replied in his embrace, her head on his chest, her eyes misty and a grateful smile on her lips as memories of her childhood came to mind

*PAST***

"Eun-Ah, what do you think of marriage". 14 year old Yu-Ri had suddenly asked. They were all relaxing in the living room after having lunch. While their mother was knitting (her favorite hobby) and their father was busy with work on his laptop, both of them were watching a show on the television

Her question caused a shock to everyone. They all turned their attention to her abruptly. Their mother had an amused face while their father's face was wide in horror. Though this is not the first time she has suddenly asked abrupt question, he can't just help but be shocked every time while their mum and Eun Ah though shocked at first have come to terms with her curiosity

Eun Ah shrugged then returned her attention back to the show before answering. "I don't know, why do you ask".

"Don't you want to get married someday". Yu Ri asked seriously

"That will be after you turn 40". Their father finally interrupted. His answer made everyone turn to him. While the both had evident shock on their faces, their mother still had her amused look as she raised a brow

"Do you not want grand kids". Yu Ri asked in alarm causing their mother to burst into a fit of laughter while their father stared in amused disbelief

"Well seems like you'll have to make a compromise now yeobo". Their mother teased between her laughter

Setting his laptop aside, he cleared his throat then focused all his attention on them.

"Look here young ladies. Getting married at 40 doesn't mean you can't or won't have kids". He began

"You want us to have children without marriage". Yu Ri cut him off, disbelief in her tone

"What! No. What I meant is that people still gets kids in their 40s above, so it doesn't stop you from also having kids t..". Their father tried to explain only to be cut off abruptly by Yu Ri again

"So you mean, you want our kids to call us granny or aunt because of the age difference". Her question kept him mute as he could only stare at her mouth agape while their mother tried to keep her laughter in

Noting his discomfort and inability to talk Eun Ah decided to come to his rescue. "Leave the old man alone Yu". She sighed at her sister

"He wants us to get married at 40, weren't you listening".

"Ofcourse I was. He said he wants, keyword 'wants', it doesn't mean he will stop us when we find someone we want to marry in our 20s". Eun Ah shrugged

"And what if he does". Yu Ri asked

Eun Ah known for her calm and collected composure simply look at her twin sister and gave a mischievous smile as she replied in a whisper loud enough for everyone to hear. "We'll elope". She shrugged. Her reply this put their parent into shock as they stared at eachother in horror

"Hmm, that's does sound like a plan. We might have to start saving up for it, just in case". Yu Ri nodded actually thinking about it

"You really won't elope, will you". Their father asked tentatively

Eun Ah lazily turned to look at him innocently blinking as she smiled cheekily before replying. "I really hope not"

"Oh dear". Their mother gasped before shaking her head. "They definitely are your kids". She smiled at her husband -who was still in shock as he stared at his two daughters (who were smiling back at him) in disbelief- before going back to her knitting

*PRESENT***

"The garden hasn't really changed". Ji Hoo said as they walked into the garden

"Here remember this". He grinned pointing to the flower bush -they had once hid behind- which has now grown taller and thicker

"When you were such a big brother". Jin Woo teased with a smirk at the memory

"And you were a mischievous brat". He retorted making them both smile

"I miss those moments, well except your plans, they always got us in trouble". He narrowed his eyes at Jin Woo

"Well someone had to be brave"

"You definition of brave seems to be quite different from mine".

"That's because you're a chicken". Jin Woo smirked earning him a glare

"Says the one who ran away when a toad jumped out of the pond because he thought it was a crocodile and refused to come close to any toad or frog". He retorted with his own smirk making Jin Woo groan

"That was ages ago. Besides I later learnt to hold them unlike someone who is scared of cockroaches because he believes they are descendant of flying dinosaurs". Jin Woo mocked

"They are. Haven't you notice the way they suddenly take one by surprise whenever they fly. One moment they are crawling and the next they are flying, not to forget that they eat almost everything". He gave a shudder

"And how does that relate to dinosaurs". Jin Woo raised a brow

"Only the wise can understand that logic. The ignorant shouldn't bother with such matters, it will only hurt his ego". He waved him

"Things the foolish does in hope of wisdom" Jin regrettably shook his head before he walked towards the chairs at the garden center leaving a stupefied Ji Hoo behind

"Jin Hoo oppa can you kindly come inside and make yourself useful". Ji Hee said as she stood by the garden's entrance arms crossed while giving him a glare, a clear sign she's still annoyed

"I'm making myself useful dear sister. I'm relaxing to clear my mind for tonight's dinner". He smirked. "Has Hye Ri called you though, she isn't picking up my calls". He added with a frown

"Well maybe she's finally reconsidering spending the rest of her life with you". She smiled smugly

"More like she's scared talking with me on the phone before the dinner will make her eager to get married faster than she wants". He grinned. His comment made both Ji Hee and Jin Woo who had been watching the exchange raise a brow at him

"She had all these years to have done that why would she do that tonight". Ji Hee asked in disbelief at his ego. "Anyway I don't care about that. All I care about is you coming to help". She said returning the conversation back to where it started

"And if I don't". He raised a brow

"You'll be locked out here throughout the dinner"

"Like you would"

"Try me. I'll be counting to 10"

"I won't fall for it"

"1". She began counting with a taunting smirk as she twirled the garden door keys in her fingers

"Arasso, I'm standing up". He sighed walked towards her. She smirked while he rolled his eyes as passed by her into the kitchen

"Why are you still seated Oppa". She raised an eyebrow an Jin Woo who's attention was on his phone

"Me?". He questioned not raising his head

"I don't see anyone else seated". She pointed out

"I'm busy, besides its not my dinner". He shrugged

"But you'll be eating or would you rather starve". She raised a brow

"You do know, the actual meeting will hold here right. After the little barbeque party". He asked with a blank face though one could hear the smugness in his tone

"That's true, why didn't I think about that". Ji Hoo who was in the kitchen listening to their conversation said aloud in realisation. He narrowed his eyes at Ji Hee (who gave him a blank stare) annoyed though he made no move to leave

"Are you coming in or not. Just because the barbeque would be set outside doesn't mean you'd get to have a taste". She said to Jin Woo a little harsh

He only raised a brow at that. "I'm coming". He sighed standing up. "But you know, acting this way to show your annoyance won't stop you from from getting married till you're 40". He smirked at her before walking into the kitchen leaving her dumbfounded as she stared at his back in disbelief

"Burn!!!". Ji Hoo chuckled as he stared at Ji Hee's face

"You're definitely Jin Woo. Only you can leave someone speechless". He grinned as he flung his hand over Jin Woo's shoulder, both of them walking out of the kitchen leaving a stunned Ji Hee
