On a stormy morning in the Purple Flame Profound Kingdom, chaos and violence reigned. The sounds of beasts roaring, weapons clashing, screams, and even the occasional trembling of the entire planet from remnants of deities and cultivators clashing However, amidst the chaos, two brothers were quietly training.
"Bouli, Aunt Houyan said we have to go back to the sect for training!" said the older brother, Huo. "998, 999, 1000!" Bouli yelled, finishing his improvised training regimen. Huo was impressed by his little brother's endurance and stamina, which exceeded his own, considering that Bouli was in the Initial Body Refinement Realm and he was also. Huo questioned how he was able to push himself so hard without the help of spirit pills, which were provided monthly for cultivation. Bouli, however, has told him for months that he doesn't need it and has found his own cultivation treasure, passing it off to Huo, who greatly needs it instead. "If Elder Gu saw this, I'm sure he would see that you should be promoted to an inner court disciple," said Huo.
"Come on, Huo, we talked about this." "I'm not going anywhere without my big brother; besides, I've got a special method for us in the works," replied Bouli. He also revealed that he had been exploring the outer ruins of the Houyan Kingdom and had discovered a desolate landscape behind the rainbow waterfall.
Bouli continued to explain to Huo about the rainbow waterfall. He said that it was a magnificent sight to behold. "Elder Gu once shared a tale with me about a fierce battle between two masters that took place many years ago. The fight was said to be so intense that it destroyed the surrounding land, leaving it filled with fierce sword and qi energy. The aftermath of the battle was so dangerous that people were warned to stay away from the area, as the qi permeating was strong enough to kill anyone who got too close. It's an epic battle that highlights the importance of power and wisdom, even for the most skilled masters.
However, the Ruins of the Rainbow Waterfall were also very dangerous, and many cultivators lost their lives trying to explore it. Bouli had managed to find a hidden path behind the massive waterfall that led to the desolate landscape, where he discovered a small cave where he could cultivate in peace without being disturbed. Huo was impressed by his brother's bravery and resourcefulness and begged Bouli to take him to explore the waterfall. However, he also warned Bouli to be cautious and not take unnecessary risks, as they were still young and inexperienced cultivators. Bouli nodded in agreement and promised to be careful. With that, the two brothers set off on their journey to the rainbow waterfall, eager to discover what secrets lay behind it. Despite not being permitted to go there, he had found a way to use the land as a cultivation resource. Huo was envious of his brother's resourcefulness and asked If he was able to see qi while still being in the body refinement realm. Bouli explained that he was using a neat trick he had learned from the Great Elder, but Huo had missed the opportunity to learn it himself, and the Elder was now angry with him.
"That old man is always teaching you something out of my range; I'm not a monster like you, little brother, so I'll leave the heavy lifting to you," Huo replied with the biggest smile on his face. As the two brothers journeyed toward the rainbow waterfall, they encountered a couple of unforeseen troubles. They had to maneuver around a group of fierce beasts and also navigate through treacherous terrain. However, with Bouli's sharp senses, they managed to overcome each obstacle. Finally, after a couple of hours of travel, they reached the rainbow waterfall. The sight was even more magnificent than Bouli had described. The waterfall was a beautiful array of colors, with sparkling droplets of water falling from the top. The brothers were in awe of the beauty before them. They then swam through the shimmering waterfall, and through it lay a giant crevice at the upper left of the wall.
"There it is!" yelled Bouli, but Huo couldn't see the purple and gold aura seeping through the cracks, so Bouli led the way as they continued following the hidden path he'd discovered. They could feel the energy and power of the land around them. It was clear that this was a place of great power and danger. They finally reached the desolate landscape that Bouli had spoken about at the end of the crevice behind the waterfall. The land was filled with fierce sword and qi energy, and the two brothers could feel the energy emanating from the ground. After setting up camp, they started cultivating.
Bouli demonstrated the useful technique he had learned from the Great Elder, teaching Huo how to sense energy without relying on the mysterious energy known as qi. Bouli explained to Huo that there are various types of energy in the world, and qi is just one of them. "Pay attention, Huo." "Your munificent brother will try to repeat what Uncle Gu explained," Bouli said. He was trying to teach Huo how to tune into the subtle vibrations and frequencies that are present in all living things and even amongst inanimate objects and how to use his intuition to detect patterns and connections between them. By practicing these techniques, Huo was able to develop a deeper understanding of the natural world and his place in it, In doing so awakening a qi channel present in all cultivators which opened his meridians enough for the violent aura to envelope them, and they both began to cultivate using the energy of the land. As they trained, they could feel their bodies growing stronger.
Huo constantly grimaced as he heard the sound of his bones cracking and popping as they adjusted themselves to the constant flow of the invisible qi. Suddenly, the flow stopped. Wide-eyed, Huo realized that all of the energy was being gathered into Bouli. "Brother, are you okay?" I can barely withstand this stuff, but you're absorbing it all at the same time. "Isn't it dangerous?" Unaware of Huo's question, Boulis' eyes were glued shut, and his mind was completely focused on the purple and gold energy streaming through his meridians. He noticed small streams of red and orange embers mixed in with the newly found aura, but he dismissed it as ordinary energy, even though he'd never seen it in his previous trips to the desecrated land. He also became more aware of the dangers around them, as he could sense that other lifeforms of unknown origin were also feeding off the benefits of the land. They knew that they had to be careful. Nevertheless, they continued to train and cultivate, determined to become more powerful.
Meanwhile, in a dark room, an old man with jet-black hair sat enveloped in a strange golden and purple cloud of gas, similar to the aura of the ruins. He quickly snapped his head up and hissed, "These damned fools dare to encroach on my land as if I'm no longer here, even going as far as to take my very own fucking essence!" boomed the old man in a deep, haggard voice. Then he stood up and instantly vanished, as if he were never there.
The after-effects of the shout were so loud that it shook the entire ruin, even scaring the shit out of Huo in the process. "Ugh, H-hey Bo, did you hear that?" Huo whispered, trying his best to not break Bouli's tranquility, and then all of a sudden the old man appeared in front of Bouli and Huo. "W-Who the Fuck are you?" BOOM! All of a sudden, in a flash of red light, another entity appeared in a wild fashion, wrapping a dome of protective fire around the two boys as if it were trying to shield them from the old man.
"Well, if it isn't you, old friend, I thought you would never face me like this once again; you must be desperate and nearing the end of your current form, and if you think I'm going to let you use that brat over there, you're sorely mistaken!" Completely unaware of the outside conflict, Bouli was in a space of stars, as if it were the infinite void of the galaxy. It seemed as if he had a sudden moment of hyperfocus. All of a sudden, he heard a voice he'd never heard before: "This is called divine sense bouli."
Bouli's face: O_o
