Chapter 15 - Suspicious underwear

.

She only smiled when she saw Shouta.

She didn't have many friends while she was in junior high. She couldn't even get along with her own family. She did the project in a day every time she was teamed up with someone other than Shouta, without telling her partner anything about it.

If she were ever challenged, she would very certainly decline. Since her father instructed her to go work by herself, she has developed a dislike for competition. Even if it was a minor tournament.

When she was reunited with Shouta, though her expressionless face remained, she began to exhibit more and more indications of emotion on her face.

The most recent occurred when she met Tohru, Shouta's mother, and was asked about Mia's unexpected tears.

—She recalled something she needed to bring to school as she was about to open the door to her apartment and showed it to Shouta.

She turned around and examined every nook and cranny of her room.

She was staring at a circular object that she had constructed with her own hands. The spherical object was painted white and blue with a green tint. It was also connected to some threads that she might use to bind it to her purse.

"Where is it?"

She groaned and plopped down on the floor of her room, exactly between her bed and the television, after wasting a solid minute looking for it.

"———"

Her room was completely black; the lights had been turned off since the morning. Every morning, the apartment there switches off the lights, urging the residents to get up early. However, the owner's strategy plainly did not pan out. If someone is still sleeping when the owner switches off the lights, that person will go even deeper asleep because the room is dark and the temperature is kept chilly.

A weekend is a great opportunity to unwind after a long week of school. That is, unless you're Shouta, who had to study in order to pass his remedials.

"Are you finding trouble?"

Shouta was approached by a young woman with short black hair.

He was seated in his chair, scratching his head furiously.

He neglected to lock his door completely, allowing the small black haired female to stroll in without him knowing.

Mia Kazehaya looked perplexed as she tilted her head.

"It's a subject that you don't know about, you won't be able to help me"

"Give me your book"

"It's pointless…"

He hopelessly said as he gave his book to Mia.

"Let me have a look"

"Fine"

When the two siblings are compared intellectually, Mia outperforms Shouta. Shouta, on the other hand, is more comfortable speaking in public than Mia. Even though Mia is an Idol, she will quiver and flee to the backstage if she is not in the mood to dance or if she is not in the zone of the dance and singing.

This has happened previously, most notably when she began to do lead vocals.

She almost puked during her first performance since she didn't like being stared at.

She didn't throw up during the second performance, but she did lose consciousness and pass out.

"—so? Do you know the answer?"

"Yeah, I do"

"Huh—?"

One of Mia's friends was a highschooler, older than Shouta, which Shouta is unaware of. And because this friend was a member of her idol group—Mirai no onnanoko—Mia saw her on a daily basis. And she—Hasegawa Yuki—always brings her schoolwork to every rehearsal, working on it in between breaks. And thanks to that, Mia could understand some of her brother's subjects.

And now, Shouta was perplexed. How can my sister know about this?!

It sure is weird for you buddy.

But the thing was, he doesn't know. For him to know, Mia had to explain and tell him the story. But as Mia finished helping her brother, she immediately left the room.

What is this?

Shouta found himself in a strange situation in front of the koshigoe station. There, Sara was standing in front of him, holding her hand up high and holding a pair of underwear.

"Who are those….?"

Shouta asked, his hand pointing to the underwear.

Sara seemed unscaved and spoke confidently.

"These are yours"

"…how?"

"I don't know, when I searched my room for my beloved pencil, I found your underwear inside"

"…Sara"

"Yeah?"

"Those—"
