Chapter 5 - Fang’s POV; the hunt begins!

Fang exits the city gates, garnering everyone's attention as he does. Because, the weapon on his back. It exudes a faint red glow that caught many veteran's attention. An item could be distinguished by an aura they exude. Each aura is different to each other that indicates what rarity it is. Items would be dropped as sparkling lights of various colors

This was how the drop system work in Champion's Realm and most people who played on the first day who has a brain, figured this out by themselves. Others had to rely on information spread by those people. So, Fang also doesn't know about this detail. He doesn't know because he didn't care

He didn't care if others look at his weapon in glee or jealousy. All he ever cared about was having a damn good fight. Like in his last life, the battle against Luo Zing on top of Mt.Tai. He wanted a fight of similar or even bigger proportion. A bigger fight than the last. That's how his life has been since young

[Flashback]

Fang Khao was born in a dirt poor family with an abusive father and a helpless mother. One day, his father was killed by his mother through poison. She flee with Fang to the mountains to escape the crime she'd committeed. In the mountain, she lived a hard life while also raising Fang

She had to collect wood and hunt for them. Some days they don't even have food and just have to eat whatever there is. His mother didn't do a good job, let's admit that. But she did something, anything. And Fang didn't mind. He didn't mind being hungry if that means his mother is happy and smiles

One day, fate decide to shake things up. A demon had wander and stumble upon the house while Fang's mother wasn't home. He was playing with wooden stick figures in the house when the door opened. He had expected it to be his mother but the time was wrong. And the demon appeared

The demon lick it's lips and bear it's sharp fangs at him. Then, a smell faintly pass by his nose. This was the smell of blood and malice. This awakens his rare Bloodline. His strength grew ridiculously big and when the demon was about to have his snack. Fang retaliated with a punch to the chest, grabbing the demon's heart and impaling him through

The still beating heart was then squeezed and pop like mush as the demon drop dead. He retract his arm and look at his work. Suddenly, hunger assaulted him. He must feast, he thought. He must consume, he said in a whisper. And so, when the mother came home, she was also eaten by a beast that was once her child

Fang Khao, has fully awakened his Bloodline that only he manage to possess. No one in the whole cultivation world ever possessed his Bloodline, not even in the past. The Bloodline to "consume". A Bloodline that resembles a Demon's nature to feast on flesh

The Demonic Beast Bloodline. And this unique Bloodline, carried him to the pinnacle of the cultivation world, carried him to his one and only worthy opponent, Luo Zing, the Supreme Yellow Snow Emperor

[End of Flashback]

Fang snap out of his reminiscence and focus on attaining his first prey to test out if whether his Bloodline still works or even if he has one to begin with. His Bloodine doesn't take already killed prey. It takes only live and breathing prey. And if it work, even if this is only virtual. Then that's enough for him. But if not, the he doesn't care

'I'll just test it out.' He thought. His steps became more quieter, more precise on where he steps, and the movement improves immensely. This has been honed in on his instincts to walk. And this is the improved and more powerful version of that instinct in the form of a technique, Specter Walk

He skipped In a zigzag line and even climb trees in mere seconds and jump from branch to branch. His face had a smile of a predator waiting to devour. And devour he did. He hear some fighting in the distant. Sword clashes if he's not wrong. He smile and change course, aiming directly toward the sound

In the midst of the woods. A team of six were fighting against a hidden Boss. A gigantic bear with tight and massive muscles. Each swing of it's paw cause tremendous damage and they only have one healer and her skills couldn't fully heal someone who's almost on the brink of death quickly

The bear in question was black and had two curved horns on it's forehead. It's claws were a devilish red and it's height on all fours is 2m73. If it stood on it's hind legs, which it does a lot for most of it's combos, then it's height is a staggering 3m92. It was a monstrously huge Boss, but if it isn't, then could you really call it one?

The two tankers of the group is tanking the full brunt of the Boss' massive paws. The shields did little and was even receiving scrapes and holes from it's claws. The only mage and archer on their team could deal meager amounts of damage to it's thick fur and skin. Fire didn't really work as well as they've anticipated it too but it worked better than most so the mage sticks with that

The archer was the one in a tough spot. His arrows did little as two digits of damage and they were only able to go above 30 sometimes. And to make matters worse, he's running out of arrows. So, if he wanted to contribute. He would have to walk near and grab the arrows either from it's body or on the ground

The sixth member was sticking to the shadows and moving swiftly as she try to find a spot where she could do a critical hit but it's fur made it hard for even her small blade to penetrate. So, she was on the losing side as well

And they've been doing this repetitive action for hours. They spent through their health pots and mana pots just so that they could have a chance but it seems like this is the end. They ran out of potions and all they could rely on was the priest's heals and even she was running low on it. The tanker with the name Albrino Manches drank another health pot since the healer couldn't recover enough mana in time

"Hey! Are ya done?!" Albrino shouted

"Not yet! Give me 20 seconds!" Rowen Towers said

"Fuck!" Albrino cursed

They had to block for anotherr 20 seconds to receive another blessed heal from her. They could toss the whole thing away and just say "let's ran" but then the reward would go for someone else. They couldn't have that. What If the reward was good? They could use some outside help but that would mean they have to split the drops from the Boss and… let's just say no professional player would do such a thing

"Get down!" Sarah Storms shouted. She had successfully casted her strongest fire spell she has and would deplete her mana right here. She launch the massive ball of flame toward the bear and it exploded, causing the bear to roar in agony

"Yes! That's what I'm talking about!" Albrino cheered

"Keep your shield up you fool, the match's not over yet." The second tanker, Sermier Manches, said to his little brother

"Yeah yeah."

Then, something unexpected happened. The Boss' health was not down to 75% and it's launching it's trump card. It land on all fours and the horns on it's forehead spark purple lightning. A ball of purple electricity was being formed as they watch. Albrino immediately shouted to the group

"Get behind me and Semier!"

They were also going to use their trump card. They've progressed beautifully up the ranks of being a shield paladin for the church of Light and acquired the first A-rank skill among every player. And this particular skill could even evolve to the S-rank if It's fully leveled up

The team gather behind Albrino and Semier as they raise their shields. They begin casting the skill through words

"Protect us from the dark, give us comfort, give us a back we can rely. I pray to you, Goddess Rebecca, shine upon us with a miracle to overcome our situation. Shield of Light!"

The two brothers link their tower shields together side by side and it shines a bright ray like the sun. It grew upward in height and expand in width. But, in it's current state. It was bound to break. It's only an A-rank skill. And it wasn't in it's fully charged state yet. So right now, it's only a B-rank skill to be honest

But they didn't know this. They were blind to this fact. And they'll die not knowing it. But not today. Today's not the day. As the purple ball of destructive lightning was released toward them. Then, as it was about to make impact, an unknown figure charged forth from the trees, slicing the ball in half and making it explode prematurely

"Haha, never in my lifetime would I expect to be so drained having only use one of the sinful swords twice. But, this isn't my original body so I could only make with what I have."

An unfamiliar voice resounded, it sounded rough and tiresome but it has vigor. Everyone peek out from the shield of light and saw the back of their savior. Nothing but the Beginner Outfit and a sword in his right hand. He raise it and got into a stance. His voice once again resounded

"But I couldn't afford to be tired now. Because I'm just gettingg started!"

Two demons face off against each other. Only one survive

"Let the hunt begins!"
