I gritted my teeth as I collected my bearings from the fall. My body landed beside Atlas, but he tried his best to protect my head from the rocky surface. Atlas, on the other hand, wasn't lucky. From the smell of rusted copper in the air, he must be bleeding somewhere from his head. Amalia was still cackling like a mad woman a few feet away from us.
"You okay?" I winced when I slowly scrambled from the rocky ground. Atlas nodded with his eyes closed, our position gave way to a lot of body contact and caused an overload of tingles zipping all over my body. The tingles did its job of distracting me from the pain in my elbow.
"Don't ask me that. I should be asking you, why did you fucking do that? You could've been killed," he hissed in irritation, checking me for injuries with his eyes.
