"Oh god, I think the Fates is messing with me," I murmured, taking a couple of steps further away from Atlas who is grinning to his heart's content.
"The Fates could be that," Atlas nodded, watching my every move with that smiling face of his. I paced the rocky bank, to and fro, stumbling a little because of the uneven surface.
"Hey, careful," He was about to approach me when I held my right palm up, stopping his motion. I glanced at him and saw the worry shining in his eyes. The impudent grin was still there though.
"Stop grinning, this is serious," I said with my eyes round in annoyance. Whatever the Fates were planning matching me with Atlas again, I don't know. We've already established our stand on the broken bond, now we have to think about this second chance opportunity. We're back to square one, minus the third party.
"I couldn't help it, I'm too happy," Atlas grinned a little more brightly. My annoyance melted right there and then.
