I tucked my hand in my back pocket, a little anxious about the day ahead, or what's going to happen in the next moment. I never thought the sight of Atlas with his overnight bag slung on his shoulder, ready to leave anytime, would make an impact on me. It feels sad, sorrowful.
I wasn't able to see him leave years ago. It didn't exactly prepare me for this one. He was smiling amicably at Alpha Cedric about something. They are talking for a long time with pats and sidehugs in between. Luna Eva was doing the same with sadness in her eyes. I didn't know they were chummy like that.
When the trio looked in my direction, I visibly flinched. Why do they look at me like I'm about to send a significant other away to war?
