Chapter 11 - Good Queen vs Wicked Queen

"It was the rule if Queen Celeste, the true Queen," Trix voices echoed into the silence as everyone held their breathe.

"Queen Celeste was kind and warmhearted but she was also lonely. Yes, there were many suitors at court but the all wanted on thing....power. They didn't care for her or her kingdom, they just wanted the title 'king' added to their names." Trix said her voice loud and clear but her eyes were far away.

"There was on suitor in particular, who was determined. More so that he started a war in hopes if forcing the Queen's hand into marriage, seeing that he was politically fit to be king and he was fit to lead an army seeing that he was a general," she said her eyes glazed over.

"General Ivor," a faint voice whispered. Trix nodded.

"The Queen searched love. The general seeing that decided that the best course of action was to kill her," as the harsh words left her lips, gasps went through the air.

A true royal was a person capable of ruling all 4 realms. To kill one, to think of killing one was treasonous. The punishment was eternity in the fold.

"The Queen had many friends at court who warned her. The council decided that it would be best if they handled the general. They sent the Queen away to human village, where she blend in. It was strange how comfortable she felt there, more comfortable than in her own castle. The people were friendly despite their weird traditions. In fact it was at one she met him," she paused and a smile formed on her face.

"The scrawny young man with a heart of gold. They were drawn to each other. It was as if they shared the same mind. As time went by and the Queen waited, she found her heart speeding up whenever he was around. When he touched her, her body would go still and her stomach would flutter. When he kissed her its like the world would stop and clouds would form around them. In his eyes were everything she wanted, it was everything she needed. So she gave herself to him," Trix hugged herself tightly, swaying slightly.

"Unfortunately the council sent for her the next morning. She tried to explain to him as much as she could but there wasn't much time. So she made a promise, a promise that still burns, a live," Trix said vaguely. Her head raised to the ceiling, where a portrait lay. It was of clouds, butterflies fluttering around to form a heart.

"She loved him," the current Queen said with slight disgust.

Trux chuckled. "Time moves differently here, slower but the journey to this place can change the traveler. It can age them or in the Queen's case, the child that grew in her womb. When she found out, she thought it best to keep it a secret. She still had many enemies at court. So when the child was born, she gave her to a maid," Trix paused and tilted her head. Her eyes wondering.

"My grandmother," she said unsurely for the first time since she started.

"She took the baby to the baby's father. They raised her together, whilst my grandmother formed a family of her own. The baby grew up unaware of her magic, she fell in love and had a child of her own, Ella," Trix blinked and shook her head.

"You have no proof of this," the Queen said in denial.

"There is," Master Kys spoke up.

The Queen eyes widened, not in shook but anger. She was the true Queen. She sat on the throne. She wore the crown. There was no way possible, she would let that be threatened by some halfbreed.

"That night, I helped the servant escaped," he stated boldly. For the true Queen, he would give his life and the same went for anyone who had her blood.

All attention went to the Queen, who seemed at a lost for words. She opened and closed her mouth. Then abruptly spun with a huff. She struggled to think of a way to prevent Trix and Tristan from finding Ella before her.

"I want it back," she suddenly said her eyes ablaze with mischief.

"Want what back," Trix said glancing at Tristan. Tristan looked as if wanted to glare at her but refrained himself at her innocent look of confusion.

"The thing you stole," the Queen said turning to her, her chin raised.

It was then Trix's heart skipped a beat. The pendant burned into her thighs.

She shook her head. She couldn't bring herself to part with it. There was something about it that she felt could answer all her questions. I quench all her doubt. Fill the void in her mind, life, even heart.

"You call me a liar," the Queen said with a gasp. The sound of blade cutting through air met Trix's ear, followed by a cold metal on her neck.

"Stop, thats not what she met," Tristan said coming to the rescue. He winced in pain as the guard squeezed his arm.

"Don't raise your voice at her highness," the guard whispered in his ears. He suddenly hit Tristan's shoulder causing the bone to slip into place. Tristan clenched his jaw as his arm went limp.

"She only touched it," he greeted out, his eyes glued to the floor.

Trix could feel the rage which he poorly tried to hide coming off him.

The Queen raised a brow.

"Oh really then what are you doing here," she asked cockily.

"For the trap can only be activated if you take something," she said venomously.

Someone cleared their throat.

"Actually my Queen," Lord Kys stated stepping forward.

"It is activated by touch. I foresaw the testing myself as per your request," he stated.

Trix knew that she was not in the position to antagonize the queen but she couldn't help herself when she raised a brow bemused.

Damn, what a burn, she thought to herself.

"Well, she touched something...that wasn't hers. So therefore they will be punished by..." the Queen trailed of slowly glancing around flustered.

'Queen of the year''.

"The tournament," she announced loudly. The sinister glint back in her eyes.

"For the dragons egg. Capture the dragons egg and your free to go," she said smirking evilly.

The blade was suddenly removed from Trix's neck and the soldier took a step back. A tension fell in the room. As Trix met the eyes of Lord Kys she suddenly knew why.

'Who ever complains over a boring a life, I will find and kill them.'
