So far the first day back in school went about as well as Xanthippeia thought it would.
The amount of work she had missed not only because of her disappearance but also for what happened before the actual first day of school was very overwhelming for her. Her mind was buzzing knowing that she couldn't have any kind of social life for the next few weeks until she caught up. The only good thing about worrying about her schoolwork so much was that it alleviated the stress of how she was being treated by everyone. There was a lot of awkwardness and she did notice people staring at her and talking about her in a hushed tone every turn she made. The rumour mill had already been running but she tried very hard to let it roll off her shoulders.
