Chapter 1 - Preface

In the year 2230, all creatures of the night finally made themselves known. Reports of beast sightings and flesh-eating people, broke the news almost every week; driving the world into panic. Countries around the world got ready for what everyone knew were to come; the war against beast.

For the first time in history, all humans, regardless of where they came from, religious beliefs or race, banned together as one in hopes to take down these monsters and take back our earth.

It's funny how something horrible had to happen in order to finally have world peace.

When the first attack happened, the people of Swaziland weren't prepared at all. They never even saw it coming. The vampires ripped through their country within hours leaving no one. Children, women, men; none were spared. That was the first warning from the beast. A warning for all of mankind to "surrender or else". The warning should have been heeded. Maybe if it was, the human population wouldn't have dwindled as much as it had.

In the passing couple of months, the werewolf's had over taken all of South America, the entire continent of Africa and half of Asia. The vampires claimed Canada, North America and all of Europe. Within the year, every continent has fallen to the werewolves and vampires. The military's from across the world finally surrendered in order to stop the slaughter. It was too late by then though. Half of the human population had been wiped out. We were now the underdogs of the world.

In the contract signed by the human generals with the vampire high ups, it stated that all humans must supply blood monthly for the vampires:

"Each house must provide a gallon per person that reside in the home, every two weeks. For example, if a house had three people, then six gallons must be collected at the end of the month. Children under twelve and elderly over sixty however, are only required to provide one gallon a month; not every two weeks." If the rules were not met by someone, they were to be taken from there home and drained until dead.

The contract also stated that all humans must be in doors by sundown everyday and only allowed out at sunrise. Anyone caught out past or before those times were free game to be taken by any beast.

The contract signed with the werewolves stated:

"All crimes committed by a human be punished by being feed to the wolves."; for these beast feasted on humans as well. Meaning that everyone in jail or prison at the time of the war and forward where set to be eaten alive. This left prisons very empty. Also in their contract. If a pack wanted to expand on your land, you were to give it up no questioned asked.

But there was one rule that the humans dreaded the most: "If any vampire and/or werewolf feels that a human 'belongs' to them, they are allowed to take you and do as they pleased; you know do in fact belong to them."

It had now been 40 years since the war ended and these rules and many more were in place. Everything was now normalized. Most jobs people worked, they were under management by a beast of some kind. They owned everything now and humans just had to except it or be faced with death.

There was one man above it all; if you can even call him a man. A man who played judge, jury, and executioner. He was the man parents told their children scary stories about when they misbehaved. Dark, evil, and unforgiving. He was the link between all three species. The beast of all beast. A wicked thing; vampire and werewolf mix. Everyone feared him, hardly anyone had ever seen him and no one dare spoke his name.
