"Kal, I promise I'll be back in a couple of weeks, I left some money for you so make sure to spend it wisely. If I found out you skipped school, I won't let you touch your computer for a week." The man said as he embraced Kal and brought his bags to leave. As the man opened the door, a blinding light beamed through Kal's eyes.
The light soon faded and Kal saw himself standing in front of a picture frame surrounded by lilies and two burning candles placed on the side. Two men dressed in black suit approach him; one was wearing a splint on his left arm and the other one had a mechanical left leg. The men had looks of grief and sadness. One had tears flowing in his eyes and the other was suppressing his tears to fall.
"I'm so sorry Kal. We couldn't retrieve your father's body." The man in a splint said to Kal, biting his lip as tears fell on his right eye.
"Your father was a good friend. The reason we survived because of your father's sacrifice." The man with a mechanical leg pat Kal's right shoulder.
Kal listened to their words and tears had pour down his eyes. He cried but never made a whimper. He went to look at his father's portrait in the picture frame and spoke.
"But you promised me that you'll be back."
The room was dead silent. The two men left Kal to mourn. The room had seats but not a single person was there to condole Kal.
Kal mourned alone. Without his father's body, he could not even get a burial or bring back his father's ashes. All he had was his father's belongings and his portrait.
Without any living relatives, Kal had to survive on his own at the age of 14. The financial support from the government only lasted him for a month and he had to find some way to earn money.
He was born without a mother in his side but was still filled with love by his father. He was spoiled and lived comfortably but reality hit him after his father's death.
Kal had to find a job but without having no experience, he had to suffer. Living his early days in the streets and constantly being bullied by his ex-classmates.
He starved for a few days and constantly cried from hunger. He cried and cried but no one helped him. Gritting his teeth, as he poured his last tears.
"Dad, why...did you...have...to leave?"
The extreme hunger caused him to faint.

"Bleeeeeeergh!" Kal awoke and vomited on the mucky ground. He looked around his vicinity and saw that he was still on the cemetery. He wiped off the the puke in his face with his shirt and wiped his watery eyes with his hands.
"Dad..." He looked at his hands and saw tears that reminded him back to his father. He sniffed and puffed his runny nose and stood from the ground. The window panel then appeared in his view.

'I...don't wanna do it. Just the thought of dying again still gives me nightmares.' Kal recalled the painful death he had experienced. His face grew pale and he shivered in thought. He didn't have any reasonable goal to why he should do this, he doesn't even know how good of a reward he would obtain from this constant suffering.

'Pull yourself together Kal! It's your ego that let you do this so never regret it!' Kal slapped himself nonchalantly. Since he had done this to himself, might as well finish it. Either he would regret his actions or not, he had to put up an effort to finish the job.
'If I don't want to end up like that again, I have to prepare.' Kal opened his status window.

'My damage output is enough to kill the undead monsters and destroy the tombstones and artillery but I'm still lacking in speed.' Since it was a race of time, Kal had to be quick on his feet to dodge the arrows and also destroy the crossbows before they finish reloading. He had to also put up with the casting of the loch just in case he might have to repeat the same occurrence again.

"This should be enough. If only I could use my other equipments, this would've been a lot easier." Kal sighed in disappointment. There was a (ø) sign that overlapped to the items inside his storage which meant he was unable to pull them out of his inventory and the only items he could use were consumables.
"F*ck! Let's do this!" Kal cursed out loud and pressed the [YES] button on the window panel. The steel spear reappeared back in his hands and the creaking noise from the crossbow echoed.

'The undead monsters has yet to show up so let's use this time to destroy a crossbow.' Kal quickly sprinted towards an artillery.
Shiiing! Shiiing!
Giant arrows fired at Kal that moved like a speeding bullet yet he continued to run. The arrow moving in front of him was drawing nearer ready to drill a hole in Kal's body but with a quick side step, Kal dodged the arrow with ease.
'The arrow is slow, no, I'm just fast.'
Kal manage to outpace the arrows that were all lounging towards him. As he arrive at a giant crossbow, Kal went behind it causing all the arrows to hit the artillery.
Bang! Bang!
At impact, the giant arrows exploded to dozen smaller arrows that spread around. The giant artillery was now full of cracks and was soon to crumble.
'It works!' A smile etch on Kal's face seeing the poor sight of the crossbow's condition and didn't hesitate to deal the final blow.
"Haaap!" With a single slash from his spear, the giant crossbow fell down on the ground and turned into debris. A window panel then appeared in his vision and the crossbow disappeared into ashes.
Kal immediately closed the window panel and backed away by a couple of meters. He pointed spear at the ground ready to face what may appear. A few second passed, nothing appeared. Kal realized that there were no patched dirt on the ground but just the mucky gravel, confusing him.
'Why are there no tombstone coming out?' Kal ask in thought. Then something comes in mind when Kal recalled the objectives.
'Now that I think about it, the objective said to kill 5 liches and since there are 10 crossbows, 5 out of it should spawn a lich.' Kal thought to himself. Now that he had understand, the occurrence, Kal moved back to the center to meet the undead monsters who had already rose from the tombstones.
Kal didn't hesitate and dash right away to the army of undead. He performed fine and delicate movements with his spear that didn't take much fatigue to him yet would still deal lethal damage.
A single wave of his spear, he would behead 5 zombies at once. When he's dealing with bundles of monsters he'd activate his skill [Strike] to wipe them out into smithereens. Fortunately, the fire trinket's effect didn't disappear after restarting so the flame aspect made it easier for Kal to clear the monsters.
After 30 seconds had passed, the crossbows were ready to fire. Kal had wiped out 250 undead monsters and destroyed 120 tombstones from that short amount of time. The zombies had respawned again crowded Kal and as soon as the arrows were fired, Kal activated [Wind Barrier] that blasted away all monsters nearby and those who survived were scorched into a pile of charcoal. The arrows collided with the barrier causing the dome to shake. It exploded upon impact into smaller arrows that killed dozens of monsters in sight.
Just from that skill, Kal had tallied his undead kills by 480. Right after the skill ended, Kal blast himself to another artillery. While he sprinted, he killed all the monsters in the way and broke tombstones that blocked his path.
Kal arrived immediately at an artillery were he immediately use his skill [Strike] at it causing it to explode and with the damage it accumulated from the single skill, Kal broke it by a single punch of his spear. Kal didn't forget the back away and as he expected, the crossbow had left a patch of dirt behind. A tombstone rose from the dirt which was the same kind as what Kal had seen and this time, Kal didn't try to hit but wait for the mist to appear.
It didn't take long for the mist to appear from the ground which then swirled around the tombstone and expanded. As it covered the area into thick fog, the two crystal blue eyes of the lich appeared.
"Come out from where you're hiding."
"N!gG@$;-;" The lich started casting it's fireball at Kal which he dodge with eased and as Kal moved farther away from, the fog, the lich also followed in pursuit.
'Let's see how strong you are.' Kal leaped up in the air to confront the lich who was still casting another spell. He stabbed it right to the crystal in its forehead but to Kal's surprise, a purple forcefield appeared around the lich. The forcefield rebounded Kal's spear causing him to get pushed back to ground. Fortunately, Kal was steady on his feet and didn't crashed down.
'It's the same barrier that protected the tombstone! If it's gonna be protected by that field all the time, killing it would be impossible.' Kal thought to himself. He evaded another fireball that exploded on the ground and decided to observe first.
Kungkukukung...
'Sh*t!" As soon as Kal heard the echoes of the artillery, he retreated away from the lich incase he may repeat the same mistake he did that killed him.
Shiiing! Shiiing!
The arrows charge at him like bullets. Kal evaded every single one of it with ease. He greeted some undead monsters who were going after him with his spear. He destroyed tombstones in his sight tallying the numbers to 210.
'Something's off.' Kal averted his gaze from behind him and saw the lich swirling around the thick fog.
'I thought it was in pursuit, but it returned back? What is it doing? Is it trying to protect something.' He ask in deep thought. An idea quickly crossed his mind.
' A tombstone appeared first before the mist and the tombstone had the same protection as the lich. It then covered the entire area with thick fog and seeing that it didn't use it to hide it's presence, does that mean that the purple forcefield was switched back to the lich and now that the tombstone has no protection, it's using the fog to conceal it's position.' Now that Kal had an idea to he would deal with the lich, he immediately dash right away to the lich.
"FU €|<" The lich immediately fired another fireball right st Kal but Kal was quick enough to dodge it and move immediately into the thick fog. Even with the thick fog distorting Kal's senses, Kal had almost photographic memory to know the location of the tombstone.
"$#!+!" The lich realized that Kal was not going after it but to the tombstone, it immediately pursue him.
"My intuition was correct! This is your weakness!" After he found the tombstone, he saw that there were no purple barrier protecting it so he quickly drilled it with his spear.

"@@@@@####!!" Kal could here the screams of pain from the lich. It got nearer to him and he saw the damage indicators in its head and grinned as he continued to slash the tombstone.
"#¡+|£R!" The lich remove the protective barrier from its body and transferred it to the tombstone.

Kal was quickly blown away by the sudden appearance of the purple forcefield that covered the tombstone and as he look up to the floating lich, a fireball greeted his face.
"Aahkk!" Kal defended the fireball with his spear but the explosion had damaged him.

A damage indicator popped up above his head and saw that the explosion had burnt his eyebrow and some of his hair. He didn't care less about this and looked up to see the lich. It was still floating in the air but now the purple forceful that protected it had disappeared.
"So you placed your barrier to the tombstone to protect it. But now that you don't have one, killing you will be a piece of cake." Kal jumped up in the air and thrust his spear to skull of the lich.
"P £n¡$" Seeing the enemy leaping towards him in a flash, the lich removed the barrier from the tombstone and placed it back to itself.

Yet again, Kal was flung away from his own attack due to the reappearance of the force field. And as he landed safely in the ground, the skeleton casted another fireball towards him which he dodged by bending his body in an exerting manner.
'So it's not gonna let me deal an attack even if I change my target since it'll just switch the force field repeatedly. Hmmm...if that's what you'll do, then let's see if you can defend this.' Kal said in thought. He dashed forward to the unprotected tombstone ready to strike it with his spear. The lich instantly placed the barrier back to the tombstone to protect it but it was quickly put in a state of panic when suddenly, Kal twist his body to retract his direction right at the lich.
Chiiing!
The spear made whistling noise as Kal threw it with all his might right at the Lich. The lich knew it couldn't evade the jolting spear since it was too fast.
"$€€€×!!" It screeched in anger and decided to quickly put it's barrier back to itself. It felt relieved that it was protected from the spear, but as it move it's gaze at Kal, it saw the human showing a wry grin.
'I don't know if this will work but.'
"[Strike]!" Kal threw his fist towards the tombstones and as he activated his skill, he saw the fan shaped outline forming in the area from his fist delighting him with joy as he put on a smile.
Shaaaa! Boom!
His flaming fist blasted right at the tombstone forming a flaming wave. The wave exploded as it came in contact with the tombstone causing the entire slab of stone into debris.

"₩#¥¥¥!!!!" It squealed in pain as its whole body engulf in flames. The black jagged robe burnt up showing it's full skeletal body scorching in flames and vanished into dust.

"Phew! Ah crap!" Before Kal could relax, the crossbows had already finished reloading and fired another arrow at him.
Shiiing! Shiiing!
He quickly dashed away in danger and spirit through each one that missed on impact. Kal grabbed his spear falling down the ground and moved on to deal with the undead. He subjugated dozens in one go and broke seldom tombstone on the way as he arrive at another crossbow.
He activated his skill [Strike] that immediately broke the structure and with one strike from his spear, the crossbow was destroyed. He didn't care less about the window panel and moved back to see the patch of dirt but there were none so he returned to meet the undead monsters again and clear some.
He was now used to evading the arrows that it now meant no harm to him as he arrived at another crossbow. Upon destroying it, there was a patch dirt on the ground so he immediately backed away. Tombstone rose from the dirt and a mist followed. Now that Kal had a tactic, dealing with the lich was easy.
As the lich show up, it fired a fireball at Kal and Kal responded by evading the projectile and poking it with his spear. The purple barrier showed up from the lich and Kal immediately sprint through the fog and break the tombstone with [Strike] before the lich could switch it's barrier to it.
The tombstone was destroyed and another lich was killed and so Kal repeated the same procedures until he finished all his objectives. Only a single crossbow was left standing and Kal immediately broke, a patch of dirt was left on the ground and a tombstone rose from it. Mist covered the area and a lich greet Kal with a fireball. Kal avoided the spell and poke the lich, with it having surrounded by the purple barrier, Kal finished it off by moving in a lightning speed to destroy the tombstone.
