The song Thousand Years ascended throughout the resort's garden where Lyna walked down the aisle to reach the makeshift altar made by the people who planned to make this marriage memorable. She is walking at the center while holding the bouquet with those beautiful blooms. She looks like a goddess wearing a white dress and crown flower on her brown hair, which has natural curls.
Every eye is on her, looking so thrilled for what will be done today. It was contrary to what she feels inside. She feels like she was being locked in a room, and she cannot breathe properly. She felt like she was carrying a heavy block instead of soft flowers in her hands.
When her eyes turned to the man standing at the center of the altar waiting for her, she felt the pang of pain crashing her heart. She swallowed the lump on her throat, forcing the tears not to roll down her eyes.
Waves of memories flashed through her mind like a movie. The song continues to play in the background inflicting more pain in her heart.
Heartbeats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?|
But watching you stand alone,
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow.
She wanted to stop walking when she hears the song. A lot of memories, those she wanted to forget so much, keeps on running in her mind. Memories were she first met the man she had loved before. The man who taught her that love exists but ended up ruining her hopes and dreams as well. Samuel taught him how to love when she feared loving someone. He taught her how love is so sweet and magical that she dreamed of having a happily ever after just like those in fairytales. She hopes to have that happily ever after with him, but then, her bubbles of happiness burst when he lied to her. When he cheated on her, worlds crashed, and the only thing that was left is anger because of the pain.
And she was lost. "I risk but ended up sinking alone." She thought.
One step closer
I have died every day waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid.
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
Lyna bites her lower lip as the song continues to embrace the place. She was thinking, of all songs, why did he choose that song? It was their love song. And now hearing it, Lyna cannot stop asking herself why did he choose that for their wedding? It feels so nostalgic. Memories of her past that she wants to forget keeps coming back because that song triggered it.
Lyna thought that she had forgotten everything, but then, it only proves that she still hasn't got over it. The anger and the pain came back as she keeps walking down to him. What does he want to tell her? That he had loved her? Maybe, yes, but it wasn't a thousand years.
He had loved her but fooled her at the end. He didn't keep his promise of loving her for the rest of their lives because he cheated on her. He had slept with another woman. And that what hurts her more. She didn't expect him to cheat. It was out of his character, but then, maybe she didn't know him at all. The thing that she didn't expect him to do was the thing that pained her until now.
Maybe she had not been gotten over it. But she won't let this pain ruined her life again.
She wouldn't believe him now. She knows that he's lying when he told her that he's still hurting because they both know that there's nothing to go back to.
Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this
This is her wedding day! She's getting married now, but why is it so painful? Instead of feeling happy, she felt like she's marching to face her death. She dreamed of getting married like those in books and movies, that characters have their happy endings. She dreamed of having a life like her parents, a life full of happiness and love.
She dreamed, but nothing comes to life aside from getting married.
