Ash woke up early in the morning and after freshening up, he made his way downstairs with his bag packed, ready to leave once he had breakfast. He quickly had his breakfast and left the Pokémon center after feeding his Pokémon. It was quite early in the morning and a few people were out jogging with their Pokémon. He could hear the call of Pidgey as they flew through the city, from and towards the north of the city, in the direction of Viridian Forest.

Lost in thought, he arrived in front of a signboard and followed the indicated direction towards Viridian Forest, only to come across a bizarre sight of a popped air balloon shaped like a Meowth's head lying across the road. Seeing that no one on the street was paying it any attention, he too ignored it and continued walking towards the Forest.

Soon, he reached the ranger outpost right outside Viridian Forest and handed over his Pokédex to the ranger at the front desk, who had bags under his eyes. He quickly scanned the code on the screen of the Pokédex and warned him, "Be careful in there. Keep to the marked route and follow the signboards. The Beedrill are very agitated for some reason, so if you stray too far from the path, you're either going to get stung or lost in the forest. If we have to come after you in the forest your license will be revoked for a month"

"Ok Sir" Ash replied nervously as he accepted his Pokédex back.

"Look kid, I didn't mean to snap at you but we finally found two idiots who got lost in the forest after two weeks of non-stop searching and Giovanni was not pleased as he had to enter the Beedrill hive to get them out without being killed and if that wasn't enough two Team Rocket members were found flying over the city in a weird air balloon at the middle of the night." He said seeing the nervous look on Ash's face.

"What happened to them?" Ash asked curiously.

"Well, old Giovanni was pissed off and had his Rhyperior blast them out of the sky with her Hyper Beam" he replied with a shrug of his shoulders and continued, "Apparently that was the final straw for him and he contacted the League Chairman and convinced him to enforce the new rule. If a trainer hasn't exited the forest in three weeks, we have to go after them and bring them to the Indigo Plateau"

"Thanks for telling me Sir" Ash thanked the ranger.

"Sure thing, just get the hell out of the forest before three weeks are up and we'll be fine" he replied, to which Ash nodded and quickly entered through the main gate, which was opened by the ranger after scanning his Pokédex.

He exited the ranger outpost and found himself in the Viridian Forest, it had a wild beauty that was accented by the lush green grass and huge trees that were so tall that they blocked out the sunlight in many parts of the forest.

Ash was determined to make the most out of the two weeks inside the forest and had designed a training plan for his Pokémon. He then proceeded to release both Tiamat and Ramiel and said to them, "We're in Viridian Forest and we're starting your training right now, try to keep up with me and you have to let me know if you're tired, Okay?"

They both nodded and continued their journey to Pewter City through the long and convoluted path that led through the Viridian Forest to Pewter City. The forest was filled with a cacophony of loud buzzing, occasional chirps, and wing flaps.

After a few hours of walking, Ash decided that it was time to begin training for the day.

"Tiamat, I want you to show Ramiel how to use Double Team and after that you should practice your Dragon Breath," Ash said to Tiamat, he then turned to Ramiel and said, "Once you've picked up Double Team, we are going to work on Low Kick and Magnet Rise"

'Let the training begin' Ash thought to himself as Tiamat started to demonstrate Double Team and explain it to Ramiel.

=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=

Time Skip-Two Weeks Later,

Viridian Forest

=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=

Ash was extremely happy with the results of his journey through Viridian Forest, Ramiel had mastered all the three moves that he had planned to teach him before facing the Pewter City gym leader and Tiamat had refined her Dragon Breath attack and it was clear that she was ready to evolve as her eyes were almost pitch black in color.

They also encountered a lot of trainers in the forest that they managed to beat quite easily, which gave them a lot of battle experience and helped him to sync with Ramiel. Soon, he could see the Ranger Outpost that served as the exit from Viridian Forest and quickened his steps, eager to reach the city and sleep on a mattress after 2-weeks inside the forest.

He completed the formalities at the outpost and made his way to the stone-gray city of Kanto, which was situated between rugged mountains, the Silver ranges to its east, and Moon ranges to its west.

Ash followed the stone-paved path to the heart of the city and soon found the Pokémon center, which he quickly entered and made a beeline for the nurse's desk, which was on the left corner of the main hall, while the PokéMart was to the right side. He handed over his Pokémon to the nurse for healing and proceeded to call to his mother, just as he promised he would.

He was completely drained by the time he had finished his call and proceeded to go to sleep after a bath and light dinner.

Next Day Morning,

Ash was awoken by the alarm set on his Pokédex at Six O'clock in the morning and he made his way to the main hall of the Pokémon center after a shower to collect his Pokémon from the nurse. He then made his way to the cafeteria and had breakfast and headed off to his room to book a gym match with the leader of Pewter Gym- Brock Harrison.

Unfortunately, Brock's slot for the day was entire day was booked, so Ash quickly reserved he first open spot on the listing, which was for tomorrow at 03:00 PM, which meant that Ash had some more time to train before his gym match and he knew exactly where he could find some trainers for battling, The Pokémon Battle Club-owned by Don George, a Millionaire from the Unova region. He had started opening Battle Clubs throughout the Indigo League over the past few years as a part of his business expansion and it has been a success so far. They only place that he was not able to open a Battle Club was in Viridian City, because of opposition from Giovanni.

Ash exited the Pokémon center and quickly found the Battle Club, which was to his left as he exited the building. He made his way to building and entered and made a beeline to the receptionist and greeted him, "Hello". He continued, "My name is Ash and I would like to register for a battle"

The receptionist replied, "You certainly came to the right place if you're looking for a battle. My name is Jon, is this your first time in a Battle Club?"

"Yes" Ash replied.

"I can register you in the Battle Club network for a small fee of 500 PokéDollar, we also take 2 percentage of your earnings from the battles inside the Battle Club, this registration is valid for your entire career and you can use the battle club facility at any region without registering again, what do you say? Do you want to register in the Battle Club network?"

"I do" Ash replied.

"Please hand over your Pokédex" Jon requested.

Ash handed over his Pokédex to the attendant. After scanning the Pokédex and registering Ash in the Battle Club network, Jon handed the Pokédex back to Ash.

"What sort of battle do you want to participate in?"

"Two-on-Two single matches would be good" Ash replied.

"Searching…..Found" the computer chimed suddenly.

"There is only one trainer currently in the battle club ready for 2-on-2 single matches, his name is Jimmy Smith, he's from Pewter city, should I contact him for the match?" Jon asked.

"Sure" Ash replied.

After a few minutes,

"Trainer Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town report for battle in Battle Club Arena 1 outside the facility"

Outside in the Battle Club Arena 1,

The referee announced "This is a 2-on-2 singles match between Trainer Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town and Jimmy Smith from Pewter city, both trainers will release their first Pokémon on3. 1...2…..3...Begin"

"Ramiel, I choose you" Ash said as he released his starter Pokémon.

"Go Sandshrew" Jimmy exclaimed as he released his Pokémon and commanded, "Sandshrew, Use Poison Sting"

The Sandshrew released multiple violet colored poison needles at the Elekid, which was quickly met with a command from Ash, "Ramiel, get behind it and finish with Low Kick"

Ramiel quickly Teleported behind the Sandshrew and made contact with the Low Kick attack that finished the match.

"Sandshrew is unable to battle, the victory goes to Elekid." The referee announced, he continued, "Trainer Jimmy, please release your next Pokémon"

"Go Poliwag" he exclaimed as he released his next Pokémon.

"Ramiel, use Thunder Shock" Ash commanded.

Ramiel let loose a small bolt of electricity at his opponent which was met with the command from his opponent, "Poliwag, use Mud Shot"

Poliwag released a jet of Mud at the attack that dissipated the Thunder Shock attack and pushed through, hitting the Elekid.

"Ramiel, get close and finish it with a full power Thunder Shock" Ash commanded.

"Poli-" before his opponent could react, Ramiel had Teleported behind the Poliwag and knocked it out with a powerful Thunder Shock attack.

"Poliwag is unable to battle, the victory goes to Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town." The referee announced.

"Thank you for the match" Ash said to opponent once he returned Ramiel to his Pokéball.

He replied, "It was a fun match, I hope we get to fight again" and left the battlefield.

Ash left the Battle Club after the battle and decided to explore the city, he chose to begin with the Pewter City Museum, the oldest museum in the world. He explored various exhibits, but the one that caught his eye was the Aerodactyl skeleton in the prehistoric and ancient Pokémon exhibits. It was from this skeleton that Aerodactyl on champion Lance's team was cloned and like the rest of its teammates, it was an absolute nightmare in battles.

Once he had completely explored the museum, Ash went out to have lunch and proceeded to explore the rest of the city. Most of the buildings were boarded up and looked ancient and were vandalized and had posters and graffiti all over them calling out for the resignation of the mayor for accepting bribes from Cerulean City for letting a major project slide from Pewter, which was later gobbled up by Cerulean city.

Ash decided to return to the Pokémon center, seeing as the sun was about to set.

Next Day- 03:00 PM

Pewter City Gym

=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=x=

Ash entered the gym after verifying his slot with the receptionist and made his way to the arena which was surrounded by empty stands. This was not a huge surprise as the league season had just started and people generally waited till six months were up to watch gym battles as that would be the time where the gym leaders would have Five Badges or above gym battles, which were way more exciting than watching beginners trying to overcome basic strategies employed by the gym leader.

Ash watched as the referee, a boy who seemed to be a bit younger than him announce, "This is a Single Badge gym battle between Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town and the gym leader Brock Harrison of Pewter City. Each battler can use two Pokémon but, Only the challenger is allowed to substitute Pokémon. Let the battle begin"

The gym leader said, "I'll go first, Go Geodude"

"Ramiel, I choose you" Ash exclaimed as he released his starter Pokémon.

"Bold choice, using an Electric type Pokémon in my gym" Brock commented and said, "Geodude, use Rock Polish"

"Ramiel, Teleport behind Geodude and hit it with Double Ice Punch" Ash commanded and Ramiel quickly teleported behind his opponent, with both his fists covered in an Icy aura and connected with the punches before Brock or Geodude could react and knocked it out.

"Geodude is unable to battle, the victory goes to the challenger." The referee announced.

"Well done, Ash, let's see how you fare against Onix" Brock congratulated his opponent as he released his next Pokémon.

"Onix, use Rock Tomb to box it in and finish it with Dragon Breath" Brock commanded.

Before Ash could react, the Elekid was boxed in by three boulders that rose from the field, trapping him and Ramiel was then hit with a purple-colored gust of air exhaled by Onix and was knocked out.

"Elekid is unable to battle, the victory goes to the gym leader" The referee announced.

"You were awesome Ramiel" Ash whispered as he withdrew his Pokémon and the ball shook once, showing that his Pokémon heard what he said.

"Go Tiamat" Ash said as he released his next Pokémon, his ace for this gym match.

"Tiamat, use Yawn and boost it with Twister" Ash commanded. The Horsea followed the command and let loose a white cloud of gas at Onix, to put it to sleep. Tiamat followed it up with a Twister attack to increase the speed of the cloud as ordered by her trainer.

"Onix, use Dig" Brock commanded as soon as he heard the command issued by Ash, allowing the Onix to escape being put to sleep.

On seeing that Onix had escaped by using Dig, Ash commanded, "Tiamat, use Water Bomb on the hole and get ready to finish it with Bubble Beam when it emerges"

Tiamat heard the command and started forming a humongous Water Pulse on her snout and launched it at the hole.

The ball of water hit the hole and exploded, releasing huge amount of water down the hole, while simultaneously flooding the field, effectively trapping the Onix between two difficult choices.

Onix emerged from the ground in panic as it could sense water flowing down the hole it made, right into a shallow pool of water which made it screech in shock. It was then met with a jet of bubbles to the face, that knocked out the behemoth for good.

"Onix is unable to battle, the victory goes to the challenger, Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town" The referee announced as Brock quickly withdrew Onix to prevent further damage to his Pokémon.

Tiamat suddenly started glowing white and started growing. When the light finally faded, a ferocious looking Seadra stood in place of the Horsea. Tiamat retained her light blue color, but her smooth cream-colored belly was now covered in rough scales. She now had a long, tubular mouth, narrow, black eyes, a fin-like ridge above each eye, and spiny pectoral fins. She also had a large, coiled tail. Additionally, she now had a pair of dorsal fins with sharp, cream-colored tips.

Ash was happy on seeing Tiamat evolving and said, "Congrats Tiamat, I'm proud of you. Now, take some rest" and returned Tiamat to her Pokéball.

"Congrats on your victory, Ash. Here's the Boulder Badge" Brock said as he handed over the badge to Ash after he returned Tiamat, which was quickly put away into the badge case inside his bag.

"Take this too" Brock said as he handed over a disk to Ash. He then explained, "It's the TM for Rock Tomb, it's a very useful move if used to its full potential. It is a reusable TM, a gift for reminding me not to look down on rookie trainers with electric Pokémon"

He continued as they walked towards the reception of the gym "Your winnings will be transferred to your account within an hour and If you need any help in training a Rock type Pokémon, please don't hesitate to contact the gym."

"Thank you, I will" Ash replied as he accepted the business card from Brock and exited the gym.

Next Day,

Ash had bought supplies for about two weeks in preparation for his journey to Cerulean City through Mt Moon. He set out towards Mt Moon after an early breakfast. It was early in the morning and the route connecting Pewter City to his destination was practically deserted and once he left the city boundaries into the wilderness, the ghost-like silence was broken by chirps of bird Pokémon. As he walked, he could see Rattata, Nidoran [F], and Nidoran [M] scurrying through the tall grass on the right side of the road. While walking, his thoughts drifted towards yesterday's battle with Brock. He was pleased with performance of both his Pokémon in the battle but, the fact the Ramiel was taken out so fast was eating at his insides.

'I should teach them to react to maneuvers like that without my order, it is was the only weak point we had during that match. It is a very basic tactic and I can't believe that I wasn't prepared for that' Ash thought to himself, slightly annoyed at his lack of preparation to combat such a common strategy.

Ash continued walking for a while and decided to take a small break and made his way to the edge of the deep forest bordering the path that led to Mt Moon and released both his Pokémon.

He then took out his Pokédex and pointed it at Tiamat, who had evolved after the bout with Brock.

'Scanning…....'

'Seadra, the Dragon Pokémon. Seadra is the pre-evolved form of Kingdra. Seadra sleeps after wriggling itself between the branches of coral. Those trying to harvest coral are occasionally stung by this Pokémon's poison barbs if they fail to notice it. Seadra is a Water-type Pokémon. This Seadra is a Female with the Ability Poison Point and Hidden Ability Damp.

This Seadra is 1.2m tall and weighs 25kg.

This Pokémon learned Toxic and Whirlpool on evolution.'

"Well done, Tiamat, you even learned two new moves after evolving" Ash congratulated his friend and then turned to his other Pokémon and said, "Ramiel, you were awesome during the match yesterday. The only reason you were defeated was because I was too slow to react and we will fix that soon"

To which Ramiel nodded and spun his arms around at high speeds.

He then continued, "The next gym is a water type gym, so I'm going to teach you another move that will definitely make the gym battle easier."

On seeing the curiosity on Ramiel's face, he elaborated, "It's called Charge Beam, it's stronger than Thunder Shock and the best part is that it also improves your ability to condense electricity"

He continued, "We can start by trying to condense your Thunder Shock attack"

Turning to Tiamat, he said, "You should practice Whirlpool attack, it can be a game changer in battles in water arena like the one in Cerulean City"

Ash trained with his Pokémon for a few hours and seeing that they had a solid grasp on the attacks, he decided to continue his journey to Mt Moon, after having lunch.

After a few battles with trainers that he encountered along the way, Ash finally made it to his destination-the Pokémon center near Mt Moon, where he planned to spend the night before the next leg of his journey.
