Part 4 –Roman law enforcement /Roman Republic / Rome again (prequel)
During the reign of Emperor Nero, immigrants from other Empires both strong and big came in and settled in, the once peaceful cities of Rome are now over flooded with both natives and outsiders with often Senators and Legionaries flagged and brutally murdered by each other to restore order the city guards, fascist and corrupt as well are now lurking on the streets and restoring order now, men of the law.
This follows the stories of the empire now stretching from Gaul to Persia, Germania to Egypt again and parts of Anatolia and Mongolia plus new territories everyday acquired, more demand and rise of corrupt senators, warlords, criminal empire, smuggles and illegal arms dealers plus disorganized crowds of mobs lurking and attacking.
Additions of new prisons, detention facilities and deporting ships are now ready follow the stories of law keepers and roman soldiers on their quest for roman prestige and glory and war of Rome itself.
Hi, my name is Felix and I am 17 years old, I am a roman and native to Rome, I belong to a well off family and in recent years, our society has changed and became chaotic confession time it was always like this on borders and our city has been sacked by Nordic Raiders, I don't blame them as we often leave our comrades behind, like an estimate of 5,000 legionnaire became slaves for Vikings, even the Norsewomen and Norsemen fight side by side there are units in them like Vikings, Berserkers, Elites and Archers or Light Cavalry plus amazing tactics and strategies to shift the favor to their side, the war with the Germanics, the Gaels, the Britons and the Celtic they won them all and Greeks plus Finns is legendary itself and conquered Persia and Mediterranean is great plus victories at the faraway western lands an throwing the Hyksos and others away from there is brave of them and peace with the Natives and kept them under is great deed but anyways after a briefing at age of 16 and year of harsh training I am finally ready to hit the roads of Rome and serve the empire and I was ushered in the road with a briefing of a mishap that took place, a family of innocents was killed and target is a merchant from Egypt and the assessment began.
Chapter 21- the day in Rome
I walked my way in to the street where the family, Hattie family laid dead, 3 kids about one of them oldest at age 12,other 2 are 9 and 7 respectively, man is age in maturity 51 and women is 47, the man next to me, a roman said " this killing is about the Egyptian merchants from Thebes, the man in charge is called dealer is behind it, he runs market underground and smuggled roman children to Germanic Tribes with arms and weeds, criminal activity vary from murder to skinning people alive, disobeying romans plus whatnot " and I asked " how can he get away with it " he said " well he paid a lot of law enforcers to do so and even gave coins and jewels, nobody says anything against him, he got them jailed themselves " I said " today is his last day here " and he guided me to a tavern where his agents were and I kicked a door and with my short sword in and got into the crowd and an Egyptian axe swung past me and I cut him through down and I threw my knives into 3 in sitting, and I kicked another Egyptian into a table and hit him with his axe and threw him and I took another axe and threw in another corner at the gate, killing another one and I said to the man outside to lock the gate and 6 men stood in front of me, armed with axes and the shields, one of the six or 1 of the 6, came running after me and I slipped down and kicked him down with his legs and hit him down and left him injured only and I threw a table and hit another one down and I swing my sword down and 1 dead and 5 more to go and I took my last knife and threw it at an Egyptian, that's 4 now and I looked in and I saw an axe down and I jumped towards the axe and picked it and smashed the nearest one and the remaining three/3 looked into fear and I said " stand down and you live, comply or die " and one of them broke a bottle but I threw my spear into him, through him into a poll and I took my shield and pushed one of the last two into a wall and the wall got a dent and I punched him one more and a piece of the wall broke and the last Egyptian standing ran towards me and I threw my shield and he fell off and I kicked his spear and shield behind me and quickly speared him down and he punched me hard and I spit blood on him and gave a head butt and pushed him he took a bottle and charged and I sidestepped and pushed him down and punched a dagger into his shoulder and tripped him down and said " who killed that Hittite Family ? " and he said " the boss did it man, he was going to make a move against them, us all and please I am just a common thief and I don't kill people, I didn't I just work here " and I said " let off come into custody now or else you know " and he gathered his family and into custody and I went after the merchant and I got a tip of an anonymous deal of the merchant and some Hun outside of the gates and some slaves will be there and I found out the best way is to hit his circle and I did and I with the man Aden, in custody told of the rendezvous and we headed to the taverns at the outer huts near the border of Gaul and I went in dressed in as a Gaelic, and I found the river back by the next day and there were about 45 Egyptians and 55 Assyrians, Gaelic children were captured and were being sold, I met with the nearest Gaelic Tribe and told them to help me and which some agreed and the majority refused and with about 50 men I showed up and we saw the odds, 2 is to 1 and we made a hotspot plan, I called the Gaels to attack them from the rare or the behind whereas I with a handful few will spot them here in the front and I had a scout spot the large city hall they were using had no survivors left and children were rounded up and beaten up every day and the Empire may have another rebellion on their hands but we charged in quietly and I threw a rock at one of the coordinators and one of them said " check mate go off " and one of them came my direction and a rain of arrows came out of nowhere and I took my knife and slowly attacked the Assyrian and put him to the blade killing him immediately and I ran and hid behind a tree and I took my spear out and ran through another man who came to check on him and impaled him to a tree and then I followed and picked another one down and made my way to the hall and I took another spear and threw it impaling an Egyptian down, and I took my sword and shield, ran through another Assyrian, and Egyptian and more of them came out whereas on the other hand, Gaelic People jumped through the walls and began taking out Egyptian and Assyrian captors and I entered in the hall after slaughtering 5 – 8 people and entered the hall and there were about 12 people in there and 1 more showed up and I said " 13 is to 1, I kind of like these odds, if you ask me "and one of the thugs or goons came in and charged but I sidestepped and swooped open his belly, and punched a knife into him and I looked up and I, shields up marched and an Egyptian shot arrows and I dodged, them but I broke one of them from the shield and stabbed nearest Assyrian, and pushed him towards the Egyptians, I took the nearest Egyptian axe and swung through Assyrians and Egyptians 10 down and 3 left and I took my axe and saw an Egyptian recovering and I ran with the spear and pushed him through the wall and into another room and another Assyrian charged and hit his axe but I was able to get his axe and dodge him I tripped him and hit his shoulder hard thrusting a knife into him and I ran after the nearest and the last one hurling him down and he pelted a stone at me and hit my head and I kicked him down hard and hit him hard taking him upwards, 13 + 8 + 3 = 24/100 man killed like 24% of the circle here is gone and I pushed him to the edge at a terrace, and he pushed me into down into a room and I took a pot next to me and hit him in the head and I speared him or slammed him down and the ground of the 3rd floor broke and we fell into the 2nd floor and I saw him get up and I slammed him again down thud ! and to the 1st and even below an underground pit and an arrow hit the Assyrian, who was already down and the Gaelic Tribes entered the hall and started attacking non Gaelic People and rescued the children and attacking the others practically and saving me also I had it figured it out anyways, the Gaelic got the place scouted and my armor broke I beat the already hit Assyrian to death and got up and wore The Gaelic shirt and with their spear and sword attacked, confession I wore nothing fancy and I threw the spear into an Egyptian and then charged another Egyptian and Roman Law Officers broke in attacking Gaels and Assyrian-Egyptian Circle and I broke out and slashed another Assyrian and pushed the romans separating them from the men and women of Gaul.
The circle had their all of their last members dropped and left at the mercy of Gaelic Tribes and the merchant will face execution by me and I took 3 days rest now and spent time healing myself and taking baths, I had a deal brokered with the father of a girl I admired and I would keep the promise and I left out after 3 days to the location of the merchants house and I found his guards and I slaughtered them all and took his wife captive, killing his sons or heirs to the empire he made and I took his wife and pushed her off the roof, for killing another roman after 5 warnings, usually 6 – 9 strikes but I called in and killed her.
Upon hearing, the Praetorian Guards came in and arrested me for murder of innocent women and I now know dirty law enforcers, mad conspiring senator, and praetorian guards plus crime syndicates are what our enemies are plus the invading armies of any empire, kingdom, clan, tribe etc. and the word has spread, another civil war may happen and I was held accountable for that well what they say dirty law enforcement and we got word the merchant from Egypt is here and his deal is about to happen real soon enough itself and we made a plan for it our informer told us of the tavern he was going to go and we got ready and decided and one of the 6 praetorian guards attacked me with a whip " won't let you do it Felix, sorry kid, well whatever go tale the day " and I punched him sown and shoved him down the stairs then I made a rush through the door and ran through a Praetorian Guard with a spear and dashed outside with my short sword intact.
And I killed a nearby Egyptian as he charged on me, I took his saber or curved sword and passed through the crowd and another Egyptian came closer and I dashed at him into a tavern smashing him right there and I took a bottle and smashed him right there and I cut him down dead and corrupt Praetorians came running at me and I took my sword and charged 3 of them against me, just one guy and I charged at them nut by throwing bricks hitting one of them with it down and I closed in at an abandoned tavern and he shot a bottle which I dodged and 2 against 1, let's make it 1 vs. 1 and I saw a knife laying there and I the moment a Praetorian Guard came in and I hit in his neck and he slumped and I asked him " how much ? What's the price of a law enforcer these days? " and the last standing officer said " a lot of gold coins and some jewelry, they gave us, split it into two " and I said " enough to betray the law, betray the city, betray the crown, betray the emperor, to betray Rome and what it stood for " and the last guy said " save for the children, Felix and not to me " and I got his position and I crawled hiding and I tripped his legs, and nailed him and more of law enforcement came 4 officers, 3/4th were Praetorian and I took the back door and ran out and I realized the corruption ran deep in Roman Empire and I killed another one Egyptian and sat in a wagon and told the driver and passengers to move and keep shut and I saw arrows hitting the streets and people dying and I was feeling fear of being killed, for the 1st time in my entire life and I closed my eyes and sought Minerva, goddess of wisdom and intelligence and no answer I am on my own and I have 0 help.
