Chapter 18 - campaign on Megiddo
My name is Amenhotep and I'm a soldier in the army of Thutmose the third and today we with our washer men, maidens and postal servants marched into enemy lines against the Hittites or the Hattie People and since beginning of time, had the Hattie been our enemies and ever they respected us they never did that and today we teach them a lesson.
And we boarded our ships and the generals were making a strategy against Hattie People and to make a move and then we were towering the Hattie Villages on the coast and then I had my weapons which consisted of an Egyptian axe, a spear, a curved saber, armor, a knife and some arrows with a quiver and we landed ashore and then we marched into the roads into Hittite Cities and assembled outside the gates and waited outside the war is just the beginning of something bad and the gates were closed and a chance was given to surrender and the Hattie shot arrows of fire and our commander yelled " SHIELDS " and we covered ourselves and stayed in cover and some of us covered the scouts, messengers, washers and maids getting them out of there and I heard of the Aryan strategy of laying siege and I yelled some of us to get out of the firing and surround the breached walls and commander yells them and we do so and corner the walls stretching so vastly and we scaled the walls and they were a lot higher also slippery and then we decided to make camp far away and then build ladders to enter, masons and blacksmiths came here as well.
Scouts saw a hunting party leading of a few hundreds men battalion and they were scouting and this felt like a brawl and a chance to kill theirs and we arrived on the rendezvous points and from the sides charged and the Hittites sacked us too and I threw my daggers and shot arrows after another and the Hittites charged and with their spears kept us at distance and I took out my curved sword and charged taking as many as possible and then meeting 2 commander from the Hittite squad and engaging them both and the Hittite commanders attacked and gave blows too and I gave one of them a head-butt into another commander I kicked him and out them both down and a kick to knock one of them unconscious and the other got up then he charged back but I countered it and tripped him and the Hittite commander got down and the greater Egyptian army surrounded and ambushed and the war lasted even longer and somebody saw the gates of Kadesh open up and another army came out and then we aimed at them and waited for a guerrilla ambush and the moment they hit the grid and we have them ambushed the Hittite Empire Soldiers and another batch of ours ran into the capital city and the city was plundered and more and more soldiers entered in to lay siege to it and the smoke rose from the capital and smell of burning came in and the city was sacked.
Hittite Soldiers started running in panic and were dropped one after another and the city was raided and some were taken back as slaves to ships boarding to Egypt and some slaughtered in the emperor's name or for the pharaoh Thutmose the third (3rd) and we marched and made camp and in the other day we scouted the Hittite settlements and laid siege every time we saw a city and finally the location of Megiddo was given and on a hill and we decided to raid it and we marched towards the slippery slope and some of us fell from the hills instead and died there.
The Hattie Soldiers ambushed us and had an edge and to turn it around a retreat was ordered and then we had to run back downslide and more of the Hattie Soldiers came and surrounded on both sides the enemy charged and then another fight ensured and then we lost the edge losing more of ours but I took a spear and ran through a few Hattie and the Egyptians fought back again and we charged at the both ends and pushed the frontlines down and attacked and the Hattie ran away once more and more again and we chased them back to the hillside and chased some more away and the war happened and we killed more and chased the Hattie away and stood at the gate of the Megiddo and stood there Thutmose the 3rd himself killed Hattie People violently and we waited outside and stood there and waited for a month and our scouts have seen another army moving forward and we speculated another ambush and we were ready this fall and we waited.
And then the Hattie came again and the ambush started and during the battle Thutmose the 3rd dismounted and fought the Hattie himself cutting with his axe and curved saber and the city remain closed the war waged on for days and nonstop we fought on the frontlines of the war killing and getting killed by the Hattie Soldiers and some believed the reign of Thutmose the 3rd may be over as of now but somewhere an axe flew and more Egyptians came and ambushed them and from both sides squeezed them in the battle hard killing many and pushing them off the hillside bad down and ending many of the wars and winning and then once that was done we stormed the city but they didn't came out and we waited and waited and waited.
Until after a period of 8 months, they all in the city surrendered and we took chariots, horses, cattle and slaves and headed back and during our way back we even decided to raid Jericho one of the first cities under Acadian rule and the territory was brought over as we broke the door of the gates and the resistance was swiftly over and more slaves and cattle were herded and taken over from there and then a few cities fall suit.
After an entire year alter the homecoming happened finally back home and were welcomed as heroes and thank Horus we came victories and brought slaves and cattle and we knew that they will rebel again and come after us and during the homecoming feasts and ceremonies were held in our honor and celebration continued the victory was done and in months another rebellion will be crushed and put down by us and for now, we went in and had fun in the festivities.
