Synopsis
Cricket is celebrated and practiced as a sports in many countries . It is played within a 22 yard oval field with two teams competing against each other. Each team includes 11 player who can be betters ,all rounder as well as bowler . The game starts with a toss and is played on the basis of over where each over has six bowl to be bowled . Runs can be scored by hitting the bowl out of the boundary in the form of fours and sixes or by running between the wickets to take singles . The total number of overs depends on the format of the game. India plays cricket both as a sport and a recreation . youngsters can be seen with their bats and balls in every Nook and corner of the country . The Indian cricket team of both men and women represent the nation in different tournaments .the dedication and popularity of this games make it larger than life everywhere!

Chapter 1 - Indian history of cricket

The British brought cricket to India in the early 1700s, with the first cricket match played in 1721. In 1848, the parsi community in Bombay formed the oriental cricket club, the first cricket club to be established by Indians. After slow beginnings, the Europeans eventually invite d the parsis to play a match in 1877.

Cricket is religion in India. How many times have we heard that in the news, read that in newspaper, quoted in conversation? Though the National game of India is Hockey but it is cricket that has the Indian public's heart . People in India might not be aware of India n Hockey team's captain but they are aware of cricketers playing for the first time in national colours.
