Monica had always been a very cautious loving mother to her daughter Michelle and always put family first. Michelle had a Close relationship with her father though, Jackson. he never wanted to see her sad.
"Get up honey….you will be late for school", said Monica. Michelle did not really like school; although she had the love for poetry and did not see a point of waking up every morning to attend "boring" accounting classes. She got up anyway, prepared herself and went to school, as Jackson ran out to work and Monica stayed
home, since she was a business woman so she worked from home daily. Usually Michelle arrived from school before her father, but that very same day she found him home later in the day when she arrived from school. The atmosphere in the house was not right, her mother was in bed, which was unusual for her to be sleeping during the day. "Hi dad, why is
mom sleeping?", she asked. "Your mother must get out of my house!" replied Jackson.
Michelle stood there still stiff rigid, she knew that her father meant business. Monica did not feel a need to tell her daughter what was going on since she did not want to involve her in their marital problems. As days went by the family looked happily ever after once again. But it was all a pretence for the sake of Michelle, however that did not last for long. Few weeks down the line Jackson started going home late; Michelle watched as her mother dropped a tear every single night, she knew that their marriage was not in good
state, however her father started making up excuses all the time, as for Michelle doing her 11th grade at school her only dream was to complete school and follow her dreams even though she disliked school, on the other hand her parents were saving up for their dream home in the city. So they had a lot of plans, for Jackson to be acting the way he had been acting.
"Mom do you think dad has another woman?" asked Michelle." No honey it's not that and
don't worry we will be alright", replied Monica. Early in the morning after Jackson went to work Monica drove to the bank since she had been having trouble getting into their joint account. When she arrived at the bank she discovered the shock of her life! an amount of R80.000 had been withdrawn from their joint savings account thrice in one night. She was baffled and could not even breathe for a moment, but her gut told her that her husband was behind all that betrayal, she walked out of the bank without even saying a word, with rage deep in her skin. Jackson arrived home later that night, Michelle was already in bed at the time, and Monica was up all night waiting for Jackson, to confront him about the missing money." Is this the time you arrive home"? Asked Monica, "Oh hi sweetheart, I am sorry I am late I was with the boys", replied Jackson. He did not even show any expression of sorrow. "Boys wow you telling me about boys!" Shouts Monica as she cried Jackson knew that hell was about to break loose. Monica confronted him about the missing money, and he simply confessed that ,he was involved in a bet whereby fifteen of his friends had to bet with R80 000 each and whoever came with the hottest woman won all the money from all fifteen bets.
"You've got to be kidding
me for crying out loud you're married!" Shouts Monica, as she walked upstairs, very upset.
Michelle! ", "Mom what's wrong?" asked Michelle."Get up! Get up and pack your
stuff sweetie we are leaving! ". They both left the house; all Michelle was very surprised at what had happened but she knew her
father had really messed up that time.
They both moved to Monica's mother who was not happy at all seeing her daughter covered in a pool of tears .She begin to share the story of
the incident with her mother , she could not believed that Jackson could do such. "Take your time my child marriage is not easy", said her mother. "Mom I am not going back to that man", replied Monica. Michelle looked at her mother with pain in her eyes, she knew her mother meant every word she said, regardless of the state she was in."I need to lie down a bit perhaps time alone will ease my pain", said Monica. "Gran I think mom needs help, please I can't watch her leave dad we need each other as a family". Said Michelle "Your mother is an adult she can make her own decisions all she needs is our support", replied Grandma.
Michelle sat and took a deep sigh. The matter worried them as they knew how sensitive
Monica was. The only thing Monica thought of was to keep aloof. Her parents became more worried every day; no one knew what was going on in her mind. "Sweetie where are you going "? Asked Sophie. "I'm going to my house, I need to fetch the rest of my belongings mother", replied Monica. That was like the most
terrifying moment, because of the state she was in .Monica went to her house to fetch her belongings and found Jackson home, her eyes were filled with tears because they both still loved each other , they still wanted to be together but none of that was easy. She did take some of her remaining clothes and Jackson tried to stop her, she wanted to stay but her heart
did not allow her to be with the man she did not trust anymore. Everything was dried out, the situation had already started to be hard for Jackson; he could see through his own skin that he had already lost his wife and daughter.
Monica went back to her mother's house. "Your father is arriving back from china
this afternoon", said Sophie, "You didn't have to tell Dad about this mom please", said
Monica. Mr. Mari was a typical kind of a man who never saw eye to eye with Jackson, and
Monica knew her father was coming with trouble .When Monica and Jackson got married he was not happy at all till the time the couple started a family. Surprisingly when he arrived from china he did not
come with trouble or say anything bad, but he gave comfort to his daughter. Suddenly
Monica made a terrifying announcement to her family about divorcing Jackson and starting a new life, Michelle was stunt by the news although she saw that coming. The decision itself was not
an easy one for Monica because her life was going to change all together. Jackson on the
other hand still wanted to fix their marriage. Deep down he knew that he had wronged his
wife, and all he wanted was to make things right, sadly it was all too late. There is a saying that " true love never dies", was it dead already there? Well it was , Jackson lost hope and agreed to sign the divorce papers; he knew he had lost the love of his love for good. After the divorce Monica became worse she could not cope with the depression all she did was cry and hope
for things to get better.
"Mother I am not feeling well I think I need a long bath", said Monica.
"Try that it helps", replied Sophie. Upstairs Michelle heard screams and called her
grandmother, they both entered the bathroom and found Monica in a pool of blood, blood
flowing down between her legs, her scream was like a man taking his last breathe after a burn from hot oil. Sophie grabbed as many towels as she could to help her from losing too much blood, while
Michelle dialled 911. Paramedics arrived, but Monica had already passed out, she woke up in ICU the next morning. The family was shocked to discover that Monica had a miscarriage due to stress; Monica herself did not know that she was pregnant. This was more tragedy for the family. Monica struggled from post traumatic stress for some time. At that stage Jackson did not know about the loss of their baby the family kept that private. Two months after the incident Monica was up on her feet, a strong elegant woman she was. Her parents began to realize that after the entire trauma she had been through, she became strong for her daughter; her father decided that they hand over their house to them since she was starting a new life. "I will be going back to china with your mother, you and Michelle can have the house", said Mari. This meant so much to Monica but quiet sad
because she was going to miss her parents. Was this family cursed or something? On Saturday morning ,Just 3hours after her parents had left to the airport. Monica received a call that turned her smile into misery." Mom are you ok"?, "It's it's
the hospital mom and dad had an accident", replied Monica, with her body shaking tears
flowing down her cheeks, Michelle stood stiff and could not say a word. They drove to the
hospital but unfortunately it was too late Mr. and Mrs. Mori had passed on, Monica collapsed as the Dr announced their passing, She was quickly rushed to intensive care unit, since she was not breathing. Five hours later
she died too. We thought Monica was the strong one but it turned out that Michelle was the strongest in the family, she did not cry but stood there shocked, and to her it felt like it was all a dream. Having to loose her grandparents and her mother on the same day, that was very hard , hard to even sink in. she believed none of that had happened. When Jackson arrived at the hospital in hopes to support
Monica and her daughter but shockingly he found Michelle miserable. He had no idea that Monica had died too. Michelle blamed him for her mother's death and all the things that they had gone through, reality began to kick in and she told her father how much she hates him and that she wanted nothing to do with him. Jackson understood that her words came from pain and rage, he grabbed her and
hugged her. That was when she finally began to release the pain and cried her eyes out on that very same day she had no where to go so she had no choice but move back in with her father.
