It has been a day since they took the boat and they were inching closer to their destination ever so slightly.
"We are close". Mera said as she looked ahead solemnly.
"No shit Sherlock, I can see that". Alex said while rolling his eyes as he saw the huge amount of clouds and rising waves ahead of them.
"So, I've been meaning to ask but do you have some underwater breathing gadgets. I can sure use some". Alex asked as he looked at Mera.
Mera looked at him for a second and then started rummaging through the pouch on the side of her. After searching for a while. She took out a transparent mask that was reflecting some light on it.
"Oh, an intriguing little gadget". Alex said as he took the mask from her and put it on his face.
The mask seamlessly blended on his skin and felt like he didn't equip anything. After putting on the mask. He pulled the down the cover and covered his lower face again.
"Are you really not going to show us your face?" Mera asked as she looked at him with a hint of resentment on her face.
"Haaa, Okay". Alex sighed as he agreed.
'I have went through some time with them and they can be trusted enough. I already checked her brain'. Alex thought as he slowly removed the mask from his face.
Both of them were pleasantly surprised when they saw his face. He was a handsome guy with Blonde hair and green eyes. He was pretty handsome and with that buff physique. He looked quite masculine and good.
"Oh you are quite Handsome. Why do you hide your face?" Mera said as she smiled at him.
"Comes with the trade and I don't think it's an appropriate time to talk about this". Alex said as he pointed towards the incoming thunderstorm.
"Yeah, I agree". Arthur nodded as well as he gripped his hand on the railing tightly.
"Well, grab firm". Alex said as he took Mera's waist and stood on the deck with one hand in the pocket.
The boat entered the stormy sea as it got rocked back and forth violently. It was like the boat would capsize at any moment.
Alex was standing there firmly without moving. Even though the boat was about to fall apart from the violent beating by the weather.
Suddenly some grotesque bipedal fish like monsters started to appear on the helm of the ship.
'These guy are quite sneaky and the amount is astounding below us'. Alex thought as he saw the creatures converging them with his Haki.
"Are these the creatures of the Trench?" Alex asked as he looked at the creatures leisurely.
"Yeah". Mera nodded as she looked at the creatures warily.
"turn on the lights!" Alex shouted as Arthur quickly ran to captain's cabin to turn on the lights.
the lights turned as it literally became like daylights on the ship. The creatures quickly jumped away as the lights irritated their eyes and they couldn't stay on the dock.
"I knew it. These are irritated by light. Good thing I made my preparations beforehand". Alex smiled triumphantly as he saw the creatures bot daring ti get on the ship.
"Okay genius but we need to abandon ship". Mera rolled her eyes as she smirked and burst Alex's fantasies.
"Yeah yeah, I know". Alex waved his hand as he pecked her lips and smirked when he saw her glare at him for the sudden attack.
"Abandon ship!" He shouted.
"And don't forget the Flares!" With that, he took Mera and jumped down the ship.
'Not that they are needed. Gold Experience Requiem'. Alex said as he Gold Experience appeared next to him and all the creatures suddenly stopped moving.
They were just silently looking at them while snarling bu they didn't move to them attack them at all.
Mera and Arthur looked at it with astonishment but they didn't linger as they started to use their water swimming powers and swam as fast as they can.
"Oi, what's the hurry? They are not attacking anyway. Let's enjoy the scenery". Alex said as he leisurely swam along with them as Gold Experience was equipped on his body.
"No, we have to hurry. Orm could become the Ocean Master and wage war on the Surface world at any time". Mera didn't look back as she replied with certainty and anxiousness.
'Yeah, like that will be able to do shit. He will move as hard as these creatures staying dormant in front of me'. Alex rolled his eyes as he thought.
The creatures were silent the whole time without a squeak as if they had lost all their will to fight Alex and the others.
'Gold Experience is just OP'. Alex thought as he looked at himself. He was currently covered by Gold Experience and was using it to keep up with Mera and Arthur.
They soon reached the seabed as they looked to the right at the crack that was displaying a blue and bright light.
"Let's go". Mera said as both of them followed behind her and rushed to the end of the crevice.
At the end was a magnificent sight that took Alex's breath away. It was a vortex of water and lightning that looked terrifying and beautiful. The majesty and power in it was something else.
"Now what?" Arthur asked as he looked at the vortex.
"We can't, it will tear us apart". Mera said with a bleak and uncertain tone.
"That's easy. Grab my arm". Alex said with a smile.
The two hesitated for a moment but still decided to trust him as they grabbed onto his arm.
Alex smiled as he willed his Spirit Force to cover the two of them with it. He was already covered with Gold Experience and Spirit Force. So he won't be taking much damage.
He swam at the vortex and they plunged into it. As soon as they entered, the vortex tried to electrocute them and spin around like spinning tops but Alex's Spirit Force was enduring the Vortex easily as it had the hardness of Haki.
Alex carried them forward as they swam upwards and entered the wormhole without wasting time in the vortex.
