They hid Arthur's father in a secret place away from the harbour as Arthur gave a relieved sigh when it finished.
"Now we need to hitch a ride to Sahara desert". Arthur said as he looked at the other two with a smile.
"Oh that's easy". Alex said and whipped out a phone.
He keeps two phones on him at all times. One he uses for his underground contacts and the other for his normal contacts.
Over the years, he has gotten to know a lot of middlemen in the underground society. His accumulation of contacts is vast.
These guys have quite a lot of ability. They can even get you a nuclear bomb at the right price. Albeit, it won't be a working one but the ability still stands.
He dialled a phone as it got connected after a couple rings.
"Yo Reaper, finally contacted your old friend?" A rough voice was heard on the other side and it sounded happy.
"Mark, you want to close business?" Alex's cheerful voice came like he was congratulating someone.
"Cough Cough, What is it that you want?" Mark coughed like he just choked on something and quickly changed the subject.
"I want you to hitch us a ride to Sahara Desert and Arrange some supplies with a vehicle for us". Alex said in his cheerful tone.
"That can be done. In about an hour, go to your nearest airport and you will be there. I will arrange everything beforehand. Don't forget to wire me the money". Mark laughed as he replied.
Alex quickly told him their location and cut the call after wiring the money.
"Done, we can hitch a ride at the airport. Let's go". Alex said as he boarded the trunk of the car.
Mera also sat down with him on the back as Arthur got on the seat and drove off towards the airport. It would take them time to get there as it wasn't that close to them.
They drove over to the Airport as some smugglers got them on the flights without any need to do immigration procedures.
After a long flight. They arrived in an airport at the Saharan Desert.
"Look our ride is already there". Alex said as they looked at the car standing in front of the Airport with a guy holding a sign board in hand.
Arthur and Mera didn't say anything at the moment and just boarded the vehicle after checking the necessities needed for the travel.
Food, Water and clothing suitable for the desert were all prepared in the trunk without a single thing being left unchecked. There was also some spare fuel in the trunk.
"Alright, your job is done. Give my regards to Mark". Alex cheerfully waved his hand as he sent the guy on his way.
"Where to now?" Alex said as he sat down in the back seat with Mera.
They were taking Arthur as their driver without even asking for his consent in this. They had a very good tacit agreement with each other.
"I know the way. I will guide you". Mera said as Arthur sat on the seat to drive.
It was scorching in the desert. They had to use the Air conditioner or it would literally cook them alive not that it really could tho.
They slowly arrived around the center of the Desert after a whole day of travel in the car.
They were all mentally tired except Alex as he could go on for months without sleep and still not worry about it.
So they took a break and slept in the car before entering the ruins to look for the Trident that they so needed.
They got out of the car after rest as Mera used some kind of device to locate their destination clearly.
After a bit of probing, they found a place where they enter the Fallen Kingdon of Deserters.
"Oooo Mystery". Alex said like a child as they walked through the way. He was looking around curiously.
'Not going to lie but I am enjoying this'. He thought as he followed behind them leisurely.
Very soon, they arrived at an empty armoury room with not much decorations inside except some statues and debris. There was only a raise pedestal there.
"Oh look look, a pedestal. Let me operate it". Alex thought of messing around as he quickly ran over and tried to operate the pedestal.
"This will only work with water". Mera said as she looked at Alex's actions with a smile.
She was getting more and more fond of him as they travelled and laughed together with each other over the course.
"Well then do your magic". Alex said as he shrugged his shoulders.
Mera nodded as she stepped forward with Arthur and used her water Bending to take some water out of Arthur's runway of a forehead.
As soon as the water came out. The black cylinder on the pedestal glowed a bit and Mera put the water drops inside the cylinder.
The cylinder glowed with Cryptic runes as the projection of an old man with a trident came out of the pedestal.
"Wow, this guys is showing off enough". Alex clapped his hands like he was watching a show.
Arthur and Mera gave him the side eye as they focused on the Hologram coming out of the pedestal.
The pedestal talked a load of shit and finally diffused after talking nonsense.
Mera quickly pulled out the cylinder as she played with it in her hand. "Can't let Orm get to it". She said and smashed it to pieces.
Arthur couldn't squeak before the cylinder was destroyed in front of his eyes. "At least write it down". He grimaced as he looked at the broken pieces.
"You don't remember it. I already memorised it". Mera questioned as she looked at him.
"Yeah, it was just a small skit dude. The guy didn't even show some tricks". Alex said like he was dissatisfied with it.
"Yeah he said something like Yada yada Trident and King". Arthur shook his head from side to side with a smile as he said.
"Yeah you didn't get anything". Alex rolled his eyes as he quipped back.
Suddenly the ground shook and Alex quickly took Mera away from the place. He was holding her by the waist and she looked towards the sudden disturbance.
"It's just a bottle". She said and got out of Alex's arms reluctantly.
"Better safe than sorry". Alex shrugged his shoulders in reply.
They checked inside the bottle and found a small map.
"Hoho, next adventure". Alex smiled as he looked at the location in the map.
"Yeah". Both Mera and Arthur nodded back.
