(A/N: before you say anything. Just remember that Alex is not at Zeus' level.)
"So you are a weak man that can't even do something this small for his love". Zeus decided to play with Alex's pride and emotions.
"Don't try to rile me up. I am not someone probe to provocation". Alex waved his hand without minding Zeus' words at all.
Zeus squinted his eyes when he saw that his attempt to rile up Alex's emotions failed. He wasn't happy about it but he couldn't do anything.
"If you are not willing then forget taking Diana's hand". Zeus waved his hand as he got stubborn as well.
"And who needs your permission?" Hippolyta said as she squinted her eyes at Zeus.
"If this happens without my permission then there will br a war in our hands". Zeus said as he looked at Hippolyta seriously.
Hippolyta got a bit troubled expression as she couldn't forsake her whole population for her daughter's engagement. She was in a true dilemma now as the threat wasn't small.
"Alright, stop making it difficult on her. I will take your challenge after knowing what it is". Alex said as he looked at Zeus.
'If the challenge is doable then I'll just go with it but if not then just have to wait for Requiem'. Alex thought as he looked at Zeus passively.
"Wonderful, follow me". Zeus said as he opened a portal and led the way.
Diana also followed after Alex as she wasn't willing to let him go alone on this case. She didn't like the feeling of it.
They passed through the portal and appeared in a big and lush forest. The forest was quite good as there was dense vegetation and all kinds of flora and fauna.
"Your challenge is to survive in this forest for a month. Don't worry, the time flow here is not the same. One month here will be just a day in the outside world". Zeus said as he looked at the forest with a smile.
"No, you are misleading him". Hippolyta said as she also arrived beside them.
"This is an ancient forest that hosts all the monsters of the pantheon. It has strong monsters like Nemean Lion and the Hydra in abundance". Hippolyta gave him the side eye as she said.
"So what, he has to be this powerful to take my daughter". Zeus crossed his arms as he said.
"Survival is okay, I can take it". Alex nodded his head and didn't mind it.
"You are already engaged to Diana even if you don't take this challenge". Hippolyta affirmed Alex's stance and went quiet.
"Thank you Mother-in-law". Alex said in a cheeky and sing song voice.
"Be careful". Diana said as she held his a part of his toga.
"Don't worry, I'll be safe". Alex winked at Diana as he said. She understood his action and didn't say anything further.
"I am willing to take your challenge but you have to give me some clothes at least. This isn't the best piece of survival gear". Alex said as he moved his arms around a bit.
Zeus nodded his head as he waved his hand in a generous way and conjured a leather armour with his magic.
"You can use this". He said as the clothing went flying towards Alex.
Alex looked at the clothes as he assessed them. 'They are just normal leather gear with no defensive ability. At least it will keep my movements fluid and without hindrance'. He nodded as he took the clothes.
"Remember, you have to survive for a month here in the deepest parts and I will get you out on time". Zeus said with amusement as he waved his hand and Alex disappeared from his place.
Next second, he found himself surrounded by a marsh and purplish trees that were clearly showing signs of being poisoned.
Alex immediately grew vigilant as he sensed a powerful beast closing on him fast. 'That fucker probably dropped me in a Hydra's territory. Need to converge my aura and blend with the surroundings'. Alex thought as he cursed and quickly acted.
'If I can't breath then Hamon can't do shit. This will limit my strength and healing ability'. He quickly disappeared from the place and climbed up a tree as he looked below.
Suddenly, a thick tail came out of the marsh followed by a couple of heads and disappeared just as quickly.
Alex swiped the sweat on his brows when he looked at that scene but there was a huge and bloodthirsty grin on his face.
'This month might no be so bad'. He thought and just waited on top of the tree as he could perceive that the hydra was still in the surrounding area.
After waiting for a while, the beast went away and Alex started to jump from tree to tree like a ninja and made his way out of the marsh.
He was travelling at a high speed as he avoided a couple of Hydras along the way to the exit. 'This place is basically covered with them'.
He thought and quickly appeared outside the march in an hour as he made his way to look for some food to eat.
'It's not like I have to stay here. I can keep travelling and look for some food as well'. Alex thought as he quickly arrived at a relatively solid piece of forest that wasn't infected by poison.
Alex quickly disappeared like a blur as he moved at a high speed and looked for some animal tracks on the ground.
'Small feet, probably a rabbit'. Alex thought as he quickly expanded his senses and found a rabbit nearby.
He silently appeared behind and it wrung its neck to kill it. 'Now to look for some firewood'. He thought and quickly cut off some branches and drained their moisture with Hamon.
'Hamon is just too versatile'. He thought as he prepared a fire and set up the rabbit after dismantling for cooking.
'The smell could attract predators but I have my senses to alert me'. Alex quickly prepared the rabbit on an intense fire to quickly cook it and went away with the cooked meat as he put off the fire.
After eating, he relaxed a bit and thought of his next steps. 'Now to make a temporary camp for myself in a relatively safe area'.
