Chapter 6 - 6. Aftermath

Alfred quickly took the two boys and left the theatre. he got on the busy street quickly and waited for the police to arrive.

He was feeling tension while cold sweat covered his back and he tightly grasped both Alex and Bruce's hands in his make sure that they are safe.

He knew that Thomas and Martha were either dead or kidnapped and they would know the results in a couple of days.

But if there was no contact from the assailants then it was safe to assume that they would never meet up with them again.

"Mom, Dad". Bruce sobbed softly and clenched onto Alfred's hand tightly.

Alex was also crying. Even though, he knew that they weren't dead but they weren't any better. 'League of assassins and Court of Owls, mark my, Alexander Wayne's words. I will be the bane of your existence'. Alex thought with clenched teeth and fists.

In a while, the police arrived when everything was already settled. A black man with a bald head and a bit of a heavy build got off one of the more secured vehicles.

"Mr Alfred, we are ashamed of what happened here but not to worry. GCPD will do everything in its power to apprehend the criminals". The black man also known as Gillian Loeb said solemnly. He came and stood before Alfred.

They had gotten the report from the theatre security guards on what happened and they had found out that Thomas and Martha were attacked and missing.

That is also the reason, why the police commissioner himself came to the crime scene. He knew what kind of impact, this will have on their image.

"Please if you could cooperate with our investigation". The Police Commissioner bowed, he motioned for two police officers to take testimonies.

Alfred nodded but he didn't let go of Bruce's and Alex's hands. They followed the police officer towards an isolated area and began to give their testimonies.

All the while Alex was thinking. 'Yeah right, like you can find them. Even if you do, you won't do shit'. He sneered in his mind but followed along nonetheless.

He knew that Gillian Loeb was not a good commissioner but there was nothing he could do in this case.

This case was way out of his league from the moment it involved The League of Assassins. Alex knew that the Court of Owls also got involved.

After the testimony, both of them were taken under the guardianship of Alfred. He took them home amidst Alex's frustration and Bruce's sobbing.

——Scene Change——

In the same conference room as before, some people were reading a report delivered to them by some assassins.

"What is the report?" The leader asked while he played with the marble ball in his hands. There was a glint of excitement in his eyes. Thomas and Martha's deaths would make a lot of opportunities for their group.

"Sir, it says that the job is done and nothing else". One of the members said and looked towards the Leader.

"That's enough. The League of Assassins can at least have this much credibility". The leader nodded, he began the real purpose of the meeting after the report.

"Now that the Waynes are out of our way. We can start to get some of the problems sorted out". The Leader said and began to discuss takeover strategies and other things with the rest of the members.

The sky in Gotham was going to change from the next and this change will either be bad or good.

——Scene Change——

Ra's was currently in an observatory. He was watching Talia getting trained by some of the finest men he had.

He quickly sensed an assassin approaching and the Assassin kneeled behind him on one knee. Ra's just stood there without turning back and motioned the assassin with his hand.

"The task has been fulfilled. Thomas and Martha Wayne were bisected with the blades but then an intense light flashed that made us retreat immediately". The assassin reported dutifully and explained the circumstances.

Their was only one single problem in the statement. Thomas and Martha were never Bisected. Although, it was close but they were saved by Alex on instinct before they were bisected.

The wound though was very deep and only saving grace was that it didn't cut their spine in half or they would've been divided into two pieces.

They were currently in a Coma and their life was being sustained by Avalon. No one knew of this except Alex.

"Good but give my orders to investigate the cause of that light. I don't it to become a problem". Ra's nodded calmly and instructed before shooing the Assassin away.

The assassin bowed his head and vanished from the place without leaving a single sound. All that was left was Ra's Al Ghul watching Talia in the observatory.

——Scene Change——

Alex and Bruce were bought back home by Alfred and were currently sitting on the couch while Alex was consoling Bruce.

"Don't worry Brother, I am sure they are fine. They will come back". Alex tried to assure him but Bruce had seen his parents getting hacked with his own eyes.

Bruce had stopped crying already but his face gloomy and sad while he sat there while clutching his pants with his hands tightly.

"You don't understand! I-I saw them get attacked with my eyes! How can they be safe?!" Bruce yelled at Alex. He had finally snapped from his frustration.

"You think I don't know that! But they weren't there! So they can be alive!" Alex yelled back. He was also frustrated and Bruce's yelling just bought his emotions over the edge.

Bruce calmed down after Alex's words. He didn't knew but he needed those words. He just needed an assurance. 'I will make sure to find you Mom, Dad and I will make sure to make this place safer for my family'.

Bruce clenched his fists and looked over to Alex's young little body. He was 8 years old but his little brother was only 3. 'I have to be a pillar for my brother'. Bruce thought and tried to get out of his gloominess.

'Sorry Bruce but I can't tell you everything just yet. Mom and Dad are currently being sustained in Avalon but my powers need to be fully unlocked before I can heal them up'.

Alex hid this fact but he couldn't do anything about it because telling this to Bruce wouldn't change a thing. So he just opted to stay quiet.

Alfred heard them from the door but didn't interfere and just silently listened and was pleased that they were able to stabilise their emotions.
