"Hurry up Beth!" Aria hissed quietly, she grabbed Beth's wrist. Beth frowned and moved more quickly. Suddenly Aria entered a room startling her. She thought that they would just go straight?. Beth looked at Aria and around vigilantly. Aria slumped to the floor and closed her eyes. Aria thought that no disturbance will happen with the plan. But it seems like she needs to improvise. But she just needs to take her rest.
Beth looked at her friend and through the window of the classroom. Quietly she took a peek at what made Aria take cover. She smiled at what she saw. It's her Friends!! Shane and Mark!. But then she frowned. The two are in the hallway and holding a weapon. They are slowly and quietly moving through the hallway. Then she saw them take cover in the girls' bathroom.
Aria sat up and dusted herself. She bought out an empty jar from her bag and looked at Beth. Beth took one look at it and pouted before shaking her head fiercely. Aria smirked and winked at Beth indicating that she will do it. Beth frowned more deeply and grabbed Aria's wrist and brought it down. Aria took her wrist back and ran out to the railings.
She and Beth are in a 7-floor School Building. They are stuck on the 5th floor with all staircases closed and locked. Their only way out is the elevator that operates by its battery. The building is surrounded by two buildings on its side. In front of the building is a barren garden with railings around it. And if they ran through the sides of the garden they will enter a long hallway to the covered court. The left side of the court is the gate. And that will be their escape plan.
And so Aria threw out the jar and ran back into the room. The jar made an ear-shattering sound through the silence. All of a sudden, cracking necks and roars broke out as the zombies went out. Many Zombies on the higher floors fell directly above. The zombies on their floor also emerged and went crazy. Beth's face looked ashen. She looked at Aria who is leaning against the door frame and ran to Aria's embrace. No matter how many times she saw those monsters she is still afraid of them.
Aria looked at her friend in her arms and smiled. After 6 hours everything became quiet once again as the zombies went to their desired place. No zombies wanted to be out in the sun while resting and for no reason, thus not one of them are in the hallways. Aria held Beth's hand as they started to head out to the elevator. When they went past the bathroom, Beth tugged her hand and Aria glanced back at her. She pointed to the bathroom with her lips and smiled. This time Aria frowned and shook her head.
Beth smiled then grabbed and pulled Aria into the bathroom. Aria groaned inside as she lets Beth pull her. The schools' bathroom is very big. It has two rooms. A waiting room and the stalls. The white pristine waiting room is now brown Ang grimy with blood. They peeked through the door to the room with the stalls. There is nothing in there. Aria squatted down and looked under the stalls looking for any zombies in them. Sure enough, there are 3 zombies in three stalls. Beth looked at her earnestly and Aria pointed at the first stall and motioned a taking down her pants motion.
Beth frowned clearly not getting what she wanted she took a pen on the side of her bag and wrote 'any humans????'. Aria looked at her with a stern look and shook her head. Beth's shoulder slumped and looked disappointed. She clasped her hand together and looked at Aria with puppy dog eyes. And yet earned a hard shake of Aria's head. Aria motioned for her to wait in here. Beth nodded immediately and thought of checking for herself. She doesn't need Aria to kill zombies!
Aria shook her head once more seeing Beth's eyes glint with mischievousness before going out. Once she went out she immediately located the elevator. When she is in front of the elevator on her left there is a zombie standing in the shade of the locked stairs that led to the 6th floor. She took out her knife and fiercely stabbed it in the head. She held its body and softly put it on the ground. Below the button is a big patch with screws. Aria smiled and started to unscrew all of the screws.
While they are stuck in a room, Beth discovered a bunch of elevator batteries on the cabinets and manual instructions on how to put them in. After unscrewing one of the screws, an unexpected thing happened. The patch fell and its sound echoed. Aria immediately grabbed her backpack and ran back to the bathroom. On her way, she came across zombies. They are stiff from staying still and could not grab her and so she went in safely.
Meanwhile, after she went out...
Beth looked underneath the stalls and counted on which stools the feet are in. She opened the first door and there is a zombie standing still. She took at her knife and stabbed it in the head. The zombie's body fell with a thud causing Shane and Mark to be immediately on guard. She softly whispered, " It's me... Beth". One door opened and there is Mark. He sighed in relief and smiled at Beth. He opened Shane's stall and motioned his hand to Beth. Beth smiled brightly and extended her arms. Shane looked at Mark whose eyes are supposedly filled with love for Beth. She balled her hands with a glint passing in her eyes.
Shane smiled and Beth didn't notice all of it as she only continued motioning for Shane to come and hug her. Shane ran and hugged Beth tightly with a frown. She smiled immediately when they pulled away. Mark had walked beside them and only saw Shane's back. Beth swiftly took out her blanket and spread it on the floor. She sat down on it and Shane followed suit. They conversed through pen and paper and a comfortable silence around them when they suddenly heard a metallic sound outside. Beth frowned and went to the waiting room.
There she peeked outside and saw her friend running back to the bathroom. She grabbed the handle and waited for Aria to open the door. When Air is in front of her she opened the door immediately and closed it. Aria is trapped between her arms as Aria panted. She looked carefully at Aria and placed her hands on her hips. "Be careful next time" she said sternly to Aria. Aria slid down to the floor and closed her eyes as she fell asleep. Beth puffed her cheeks and Shaked her head. She looked at the door to the stalls where Mark and Shane is peeking.
Both of them are frowning upon seeing Aria. The three of them don't get along well and hated each other. After 4 hours its night time again and none of them wanted to go out. Outside low growls and cracking necks can be heard. The zombies are very active at night. Aria woke up 3 hours before and did not go into the stalls room. Beth went in and out of the stall room and decided to rest in Aria's arms after a while. Aria only looked at her friend in her lap and read the manual instructions book to entertain herself.
At 3 in the morning, she woke up Beth and they started to eat. Both of them finished in an hour and Beth took some of their food for Shane and Mark. After that, they went out. Unexpectedly, Shane and Mark followed them so Aria stopped. She gave a fierce look to the two of them and pointed to the bathroom. The two of them didn't move. Mark had his hands crossed and Shane smirked. Aria looked at Beth who has a pleading expression and relented. She took a deep breath and grumpily went on. There the open patch is still there the same way she left it. No zombies are in the vicinity and Aria went to work. Beth waited around with a fidget in her hand. While the two just watched Aria work on the elevator while standing, after a while the power on sounded and it echoed through the silence. The two became restless and wary as their eyes widened out of anger. Beth however looked excited and clicked the lowest floor button repeatedly.
Aria swiftly put her stuff away in her bag and took out her knife. The three of them swiftly killed nearby zombies, while fighting, in the corner of Beth's eye. She saw Shane punch Aria sending Aria astray. She quickly grabbed Aria and entered the elevator. The two wanted to enter but Aria closed it immediately. The two started shouting hysterically while Beth stood there stupefied. "I'm sorry about your friends," Aria said. Beth nodded, tears falling off her face. Aria's face softened as she wiped her friend's tears away. Beth hugged her as they went down. When the elevator opened up, they saw the halls and garden filled with zombies. The zombies are woken up by the shouts of Shane and Mark. They didn't make it.
"Mngggg" Aria groaned. She slowly opened her eyes and tried to recall her dream. No matter how hard she tried to recall it all she knows is that it is about elevators. *sighs* Damn Mornings.
