"AGHHHHH"
Corey riles out in pain before even seeing the color hue of his ball, the pain began souring through his head then to his arms, to his upper and ends with his lower body. Everyone stopped what they were doing and stood up to run to Corey to help him but Akalea stops them. "Don't! Everyone step back and let me handle this." Akalea says and everyone steps back as told as Akalea walks to Corey carefully while she observes him.
Akalea knelt down next to Corey who was writhing in pain on the ground with his eyes closed. Akalea puts her hand on Corey's chest and closes her eyes. Her mind entering Corey's own. What she saw was a mess. Corey's ball was wreaking havoc inside him as it's dark red hue was unstable and swirling like a hurricane around the ball instead of a steady swirl.
Akalea was confused as to why it was like that but she figured that it might be because this was his first time actually doing this, knowing that no one had ever helped him with his powers before this. Akalea begins to flow her presence/aura into Corey's mind which led to the ball becoming calmer and the hurricane of a swirl begins to calm down. Once the ball's hue that a hurricane of a swirl stopped and became steady, Corey stopped writhing in pain and his breathing stable.
Akalea pulls her hand away slowly and puts her hand under Corey's neck to put his head on her lap. "Corey." Akalea says his name multiple times while shaking him gently for Corey to wake up. It took like a minute until Corey opens his eyes slowly and heaved out a deep breath. "What happened? Why am I laying down and why is my body sore?" Corey says as he struggles to sit up and notices that everyone was staring at him and Akalea. "Well...." Akalea explains to Corey what had happened as everyone else were listening intently as to what happened.
"Dark red?" Corey says after Akalea told him the color hue of his ball. "I was so close to seeing the hue but I was met with pain instead." Corey says with his hand resting on his head. "It's okay, you'll eventually reach to that point. You just need to train more." Akalea says and Corey nods his head, agreeing. "Next time it happens, don't help me, okay? I want to experience and endure it myself." Corey says and Akalea understood, nodding her head.
After all that, everyone continues on training, trying to reach their own balls and seeing its' hues. "After 10 minutes, we'll take a break and after the break, we'll be having duels to see what's lacking and what needs to improve. After that we can train with weapons that we're comfortable with." Akalea says, seeing the time on the clock was 3:50pm and everyone who were still trying to reach the ball nods their head and continues on with their training.
"Times up. Everyone take a break." Akalea says after the 10 minute mark was done. Everyone stops and rest on the spot, trying to steady their breathing. "While we rest, lets slowly choose a partner for the duels. We'll be doing 10 duels with a 5 minute timer. First come, first serve." Akalea says and everyone begins to stand slowly and walk to the partners they want to duel. Akalea was busy remembering some of the fighting techniques her father taught her as well as the techniques she made herself while the others were finding their partners.
Akalea felt a tap on her shoulder so she turns around to see who tapped her shoulder. "Oh, Dawn. It's you. Where's your partner?" Akalea sees Dawn and begins to look for his partner as she says this. "I don't have one. I want you as my partner." Dawn says and he begins to blush from his words. "I-I mean, p-partners for the duel." Akalea could see Dawn stuttering and his cheeks blushing, smiles at him. "Sure. Let's go to the center." Akalea says as they both walk to the center, side by side as the others look at them walking.
"Me and Dawn will be dueling first so everyone can see what they should be doing. Once again, go to me if you want to duel with your partner after this duel, okay? First come, first serve." Akalea says again and the others nod their heads. Everyone begins to take cover as Akalea and Dawn are preparing for their duel. Then, the arena forms a forcefield around the two to prevent whatever that's in the forcefield from coming out.
"I want you to go all out, Dawn. No hesitation, okay?" Akalea demands and Dawn contemplates whether he'll follow her demand or not even though he knows what she has shown previously wasn't her full strength. Akalea could see Dawn's hesitation through his eyes as well as the worry gazes upon her from everyone watching.
Akalea and Dawn were clashing with their swords, fighting with their powers. Shooting them left and right to make one another yell defeat. Akalea and Dawn were fighting for the whole 4 minutes. Dawn was beginning to become tired as it was his first time having such difficulty trying to defeat an opponent who happens to be Akalea. Dawn and Akalea clashes their swords again and pushed each other away. Dawn could see Akalea looking calm as usual as the two were looking at each other to see who'll move first.
Akalea nods her head, signaling Dawn to make his move. Fuck it. Dawn mentally curses to himself before letting out what is left of his powers, a huge mixture of earth and wind mixed together into a swirl that's beginning to form around his sword. Akalea was shocked by it but nonetheless, to her it looked cool.
Dawn didn't say anything else as he swung his sword with all his might, the destructive power hurling towards Akalea as she stood still, waiting for the impact. Everyone could see that Akalea wasn't moving nor trying to avoid the attack coming towards her.
Akalea held out her hand, her palm facing the incoming attack and once the destructive power of an attack was almost near her, as if it was reflected back, the attack bounced off of Akalea's palm, hurling back to Dawn. Dawn and everyone else were flabbergasted by what just happened. "Dawn! Dodge!" Luke yells out, getting the feeling that the attack being reflected was 2 times more powerful than its original power.
Dawn couldn't move away fast enough and Akalea could see that so she teleported in front of the attack and held her palm facing the attack again and negates it, leaving the attack becoming a speck of dust.
As everyone saw that Akalea used not only one but two other powers different from what she usually show before. Dawn looks at Akalea's back since she was in front of him and just kept thinking, Who really are you?
"My defeat." Dawn says after much thinking and laughs while holding his head as it leans back. "You amaze me more and more, Akalea." Dawn says and looks at Akalea, who turns to look at him, with admiration in his eyes. Akalea looks away, blushing. "What the heck was that, Akalea?" Questions were being yelled as the forcefield was down as everyone was jogging towards the two.
"You used two other powers different from your usual wind plus the replenish power you showed earlier." Dean says, repeating what happened earlier and just now. Akalea rubs the back of her neck, totally forgetting that she had to keep low profile but she already blew it. "Uhm-" Akalea was cut off when Liliana steps in.
"Oh shush, you guys should prioritize your own duels right now. We don't have all day to ask Akalea 'bout her powers so go on. Next pair!" Liliana says and shoos everyone away, which they did and the next pair gets ready, from Akalea after giving her a look then a wink. Akalea gave her a 'thank you' look and Liliana nods her head, walking back to Luke, who was looking at Akalea in wonder yet also shock.
The 10 duels are as follows; Shawn and Bach, Troy and Amy, Alice and Eve, Marcus and Dean, Klint and Josh, Newt and Dawn, Troy and Marcus, Corey and Zeke, Clara and Zoey and lastly, Zachary and Colton. The 10 duels flew by as Akalea gave her comments and guides to each of the pairs on what they lack and need practice on. "Everybody take a 10 minute break." Akalea says as she sees everyone plopping on the ground, tired and sore.
Akalea looks at the clock and see's it just turned 4pm. Akalea was thinking a lot about her teachings about the ball of light in their centers and thought the word ball didn't sound cool so she decided to call the ball, a core instead. "Okay, everyone. I just decided that we should call the ball that you saw earlier will be called a core or your core per se." Akalea announces and they nod their heads but Marcus raised his hand. "Why though?" Akalea shrugs her shoulders. "Calling it a ball didn't sound cool enough that's why I call it a core now."
Akalea bluntly says and made everyone chuckle at Akalea. Once the 10 minute was up, Akalea made them make a circle around her again. "I want everyone to tell me who they want to be or what they want to be." Akalea says as she motions them to sit down on the ground while they were confused as to why she said and asked of that. Alice raises her hand as she blushes. "Yes, Alice?" Akalea points at her and motions her to speak.
"I want to be a great healer and also a great warrior." Alice shyly says and Amy raises her hand after Amy says her bit. "Same here." Akalea smiles at them both as she nods her head. Bach raises his hand up and Akalea motions for him to speak. "I want to be a great warrior and a knight known for my skills and hard work." Bach says with a smile and Akalea smiles at him, nodding. "Me, too." Eve and Troy raises their hands, thinking the same with Bach. Akalea smiles at the three and gave them each a nod. Akalea then looks at the three instructors while the three were hesitating to say theirs.
"I want to get marrie-" With that, Josh was cut off with a smack to his head by Newt as Josh glares at Newt as everyone else laughed. "Be serious, will you? Who would even marry you?" Newt jokingly says and Josh squinted his eyes at Newt even though he knows Newt was just joking. Josh then looks at Akalea with a look while Akalea was confused.
"You would marry someone like me, right?" Josh asks Akalea as everyone's laughter died down as they looked at Josh for his courageous question and then to Akalea, waiting for her answer. "I mean yeah, sure." Akalea nods her head as she says this and Josh looks at Newt with a victory smirk. "But I don't plan on getting married, so no, sorry." Akalea adds as a joke and Josh's victory smirk broke down and look at Akalea with horror.
Everyone broke down in laughter seeing Josh's face. "I'm just kidding, I would love to get married in the future but I really don't plan on marrying someone, yet." Akalea truthfully says as Josh nods his head, understanding and playing along. "Okay, okay. What I was trying to say earlier.." Josh gave Newt a look, which Newt snorts at him, then continues. "I just want to protect those I'm close with and dear to me."
Josh says with a serious look which looked funny to everyone as they weren't used to see Josh so serious as he is now. "Get used to it." Josh joking yells at everyone. "I'm with Josh on that one." Both Klint and Newt say at the same time while patting Josh's back, always having each others' backs. Akalea smiles at that and nods at their comradeship.
"I want to be a skilled assassin so I can cut down my enemies in a single slash." Dean says while his hands did a slashing move as if he was holding a dagger which made him look a little bit childish but nonetheless good. Akalea smiles and nods her head. "How about our Marcus over here?" Akalea asks and looks at Marcus with an anticipating look as everyone looks at Marcus as well.
Marcus begins to become flustered but also calmed down once he thought about it. "I want to be alive after every fight. I don't want to die while fighting alongside you guys." Marcus says this looking at the ground and for once, Marcus wasn't his usual goofy self. Everyone was stunned by his words, not expecting that at all. "Then, you better train your ass so hard so that you won't!" Shawn says to elevate the mood which worked.
Marcus chuckled and looks at everyone after that and went back to himself. Corey raised his hand and said, "I want to repay the people who were so kind to me and work hard for myself and for them." Corey says and Clara raises her hand up as well. "Same here!" Clara says a little too loud which shocked herself and blushed while Corey looks at her and found her cute. Akalea chuckles at the two then look at the last two. "We're with what Corey said." Zeke raises is hand to represent himself, Zoey and Colton which Akalea smiles and nods at them.
"Sooooo what about you two?" Akalea looks at the remaining two who are the one and only Blackwood brothers. "Oh, uhm. I want to be one of the best warrior and knight who protects everyone." Shawn says with a smile and Akalea gives him a smile back then looks at Dawn who was staring at her, too. "I.... I want to protect everyone and save them if ever they are in trouble." Dawn says as he lowers his head, embarrassed.
Everyone was shocked yet again by Dawn's unusual self at this moment as they were used to his cold self but knew he was a good guy, too. Shawn squeezes Dawn's shoulder as if to congratulate him because he said something not cold like he usually does. Akalea smiles and nods at the two brothers. "What's the purpose of this, Akalea?" Luke asks as he was curious as to why they were doing this.
"Oh, I just wanted to know so I can figure out what to say after that." Akalea says truthfully and Luke nods his head. "Alright, now that everyone has answered, why do you think you guys want to be like this or like that? What's the sole reason or the sole purpose?" Akalea asks and everyone were thinking and looking at each other to find the sole reason. "Let me tell you." Akalea starts and it catches everyone's attention.
"It is to help and protect those around you. Everyone wants to be this and to be that because they want to be strong enough to help and protect people. Everyone wants to be a great warrior, knight, healer, assassin for that sole reason. So, if you want a reason to keep trying harder every time, think about that sole reason and try even harder. That's what made me who I am today with the help of my f- master." Akalea says and almost messed up at the end but she saved herself.
Everyone spaced out after hearing what Akalea said since it hit them like a bullet. "For I, I want to help and protect everyone with all my might. That's why I try so hard to be better than I was before. So, in this journey of mine, even though we just met like two days ago, will you join me?" Akalea says and asks the question in the end which everyone chuckled at that and later on, they were nodding their heads.
"Of course." Each of them say, accepting. Luke and Liliana look at Akalea with pride, proud and happy of what she said and are doing for everyone there. "Should I just make her an instructor?" Luke blurts it out in a soft whisper and Liliana slaps his arm. "Ow." Luke winces from the sudden attack from his cute but dangerous wife. "She shouldn't stand out too much.... Even though she is already." Liliana says and realizes what already happened and shrugs her shoulders.
"Alright! We will start training again but training with swords and close combat for the whole duration of 2 hours but since it's already 4:15, we'll end in less than 2 hours till it hits 6pm." Akalea instructs after looking at the clock then at everyone who were nodding their heads, their eyes brimming with determination and excitement.
The whole time they were training, Akalea kept commenting and guiding each and every one of them on what they need to improve on while giving them tips here and there. By the time the training was done, everyone but Luke and Liliana were sweating form head to toe due to the intense training as Akalea was very strict when training them.
"Training's done! Everyone can rest now." Akalea says with a smile while wiping her sweat off of her face. "Finally! I was getting a little scared for a bit there. I thought Akalea would extend the training time due to Clara tripping on herself from time to time." Amy jokingly says as she wipes her sweat. This made everyone laugh and Clara blushing but wasn't hurt by Amy's words since she knew Amy was just joking.
"Everyone should go eat dinner and rest up. We'll have our training at 7 am on the dot tomorrow. Latecomers will be punished. See you all tomorrow!" Akalea says as she slowly walks towards Liliana and Luke as everyone else were leaving the arena. "What time will we train later, Liliana? I'm quite excited for later." Akalea says, her eyes twinkling in delight by a new training with another person other than her father.
"We'll do it at 7:30 tonight. Let's meet at Luke's office so I'll show you my training place." Liliana says and Akalea's ears perk up when Liliana mentioned her training place, getting excited. "See you, then!" Akalea squeals out and ran out of the arena leaving the couple behind as they took their time heading out as well.
Akalea basically jogged her way back to her room while trying to avoid the gazes of the public. Akalea made it to her room and enters. She walks to the closet to get a set of clothes and underwear then a towel, heading towards the bathroom to wash up. Once she was done with her business, she got out of the bathroom to see Lisa, Zoey and Corey waiting outside the bathroom.
"My turn!" Zoey says as she zooms past Akalea and into the bathroom before Corey could say a word and stood frozen at Zoey's speed. "Where were you guys? I didn't see you while coming up to the room." Akalea asks as she dries her hair while wearing the long sleeved, fit and stretchy black shirt with black cargo pants. "There was a commotion that we couldn't avoid." Corey says and looked angry which Akalea caught.
"What was the commotion about?" Akalea asks, curious and Corey looks at Akalea as if the said commotion irritated him. "There were these students who started to pick on Clara on our way to our rooms. They called her names I can't say cause it makes my blood boi-" Corey cuts himself and asked himself why did it make his blood boil when the students were picking on Clara but he shook it off. Akalea could see right through Corey but didn't say anything as she wanted Corey to find out on his own.
"As I was saying, they called her names and tried to make her feel like she's nothing but what surprised me was that Clara fought back. I can see little changes from her shy and timid self to a courageous little thing. You changed her, I tell you." Corey says and laughs at that. Akalea smiles at the courage Clara showed even though it was small. "By the way, were you with your boyfie all day, Lisa?" Akalea asks and wriggles her eyes and Lisa blushed.
"Awiee, Lisa is blushingggg~" Akalea coos and Lisa blushed even more and tries to smack Akalea but her hand only went through Akalea which frustrated Lisa more. "Don't worry. You'll have all the time in the world to smack me once you're back." Akalea says and Lisa looks at her with a happy smile then nods her head. "You bet I will!" Lisa says with a determined look and smile.
After everyone in the room washed up, except for Lisa, they head out of the room to go to the cafeteria together and at the same moment, the guys from Dawn's and Shawn's rooms got out so they all met. They went down together and as they were walking to the cafeteria, all eyes were on them. Eyes filled with curiosity seeing new faces, some in awe, some with envy and some with jealousy.
By now Akalea didn't bother try to pretend to be a weak person but just need to hide her identity at all cost till the right time comes. Akalea and everyone were busy talking to each other and was cut short when they heard something crash into a wall. "You think you're some kind of a big shot now because you know the seniors who happen to be the best Rankers of this school, huh? You disgusting little shit. Just because you're with them doesn't make you superior than me. You're weak and helpless." A female voice was heard as a crowd begins to gather around them. Akalea and the others quickly made their way towards the scene, hoping it isn't who they think it is.
Once Akalea and the others arrived by pushing other people away gently to get in front to see, they see the scene in front of them clear as day. Clara on the floor, her back on the wall, wincing in pain from the impact she had with the wall as the female Akalea made the bet with had a evil grin on her face, liking to see Clara on the ground in pain. Akalea and the others could see the female's friends behind her to back her up and Akalea couldn't contain her emotions.
"Why are you so quiet? Cat go-" The female didn't get to finish when Akalea storms her way before the others could stop her and kicks the female on her side, making her fly to the opposite direction, landing on the floor while sliding away. The students who gathered made way when that happened to not get hurt. Akalea stood in front of Clara and glares at the female's friends, who cowered in fear, then at the female who was coughing on the floor in front of her.
"What the fuc-" The female wanted to curse out on the person who kicked her so hard she flew but once she saw who it was, her mouth zipped and begin to tremble. "Didn't I tell you she'll be fighting you in a month's time? Why do you have to do this?" Akalea's eyes held the glint as her eyes darken as they look over at the female trembling in fear at the frightening sight in front of her. "Take her and scram before I beat all of you up." Akalea threatens and with that, they grab the female and they fled as Akalea's eyes followed them till they were gone.
"There's nothing to see here, people. Go back to what you were doing." Akalea says as she looks at the crowd who immediately went back to their business, avoiding her gaze. Corey quickly runs to Clara to help her up and checks if there are any wounds. Akalea turns to look at Clara to see her wincing from time to time. "What happened?" Akalea asks while the others walk towards them to know as well. "I was waiting for you guys by the cafeteria doors and they suddenly appeared out of nowhere and dragged me here, hence what you just saw." Lisa explains clearly before wincing again.
"Alice, can you please heal her?" Akalea asks and Alice quickly goes to Clara and held her hand, healing her body, ridding of the wounds and pain. "Thank you, Alice." Clara thanks Alice shyly and Alice shakes her head. "Not a problem, Clara." Alice says shyly as well and went back beside Amy. "Let's go to the cafeteria." Akalea bluntly says, not being herself as she walks away first which left everyone shocked to see this side of Akalea. "I'll definitely win against her! I'll train harder so you won't have to worry about me anymore." Clara yells to Akalea which shocked the others as well and this made Akalea stop in her tracks.
"I know you will. Now, let's go eat. I'm starving." Akalea says bluntly again and this time, the others catch up to Akalea and didn't say a word knowing the intense vibe Akalea was giving. They arrive at the cafeteria, got their food and sat on a table together as everyone begins to eat while Akalea was eating slowly, unlike her usual self. "Are you okay?" Dawn asks before taking a bite of his food and this led to the others snapping their head to hear for the answer. "Yeah, I'm fine. I was just thinking of different ways on how to torture bullies." Akalea looks ahead with an intense look as everyone got chills down their spines as they shivered.
Seeing their reactions, Akalea laughs out loud and wipes a tear from her eye due to laughing. "I'm just kidding. I'm sorry if I was not myself earlier. I was just disappointed in myself for not protecting Clara better." Akalea says as she gently plays with her food. "Don't be. it would've happened with or without you anyway. Besides, I'm used to it. But with that experience, I could use that as inspiration for me to keep trying harder so I could beat them. So, don't be disappointed in yourself because you gave me another reason to keep fighting so please be yourself again." Clara says softly as she looks at her food then at Akalea who was also looking at her.
With that, Akalea was back to normal as they do their usual talking while eating dinner. Once they were done, everyone but Akalea went back to their rooms to go rest their sore bodies from training. Akalea was walking towards the headmaster's office, knocks on the door and enters. She was met with Liliana who was beside Luke in front of bookshelves that are glued to the wall. When Luke and Akalea heard the door open, they turn to see Akalea and smiles broke out. "Come, my dear. You'll be excited to see what comes next." Liliana says with an excited smile as she urges Akalea to come to where they were at.
As Akalea arrives to where they were at, Akalea sees Luke touching a book and pulls on it as if it was a lever. Once Luke pulled on the book, Akalea sees the bookshelves in front of them beginning to move backwards into the wall, making a way inside a dark place behind the bookshelves. Liliana then heads inside which triggered the torches inside to light up as this fascinated Akalea who instantly follows Liliana inside with no questions asked. Luke pulls another book that made the bookshelves go back to their place, blocking anyone from entering or disturbing the two while taking a seat and doing his work.
Liliana was taking Akalea to a place where she had always trained before she disappeared in the Crystal Ball of Light. As they went closer and closer to the supposed place, Akalea could see a glimmer of shiny light through what looks like a doorway to who knows where. The two arrives in front of the door and with this, Liliana took the initiative to open the door. As the door opened, the glimmer of light shines through as Akalea blocks her eyes since the light was so blinding. Once the light glimmers down, Akalea used this chance to take her hands away and look at the beautiful scenery in front of her.
Akalea sees that the door leads to a huge cave where crystals were scattered on the ceilings and walls as a big crystal was in the middle of a small pond or a small lake that surrounds it in front of the,. Beautiful flowers scattered but weren't a lot, a paved floor where it looks like its where Liliana have trained as a gaping hole on the ceiling where the moon shines brightly on the big crystal. "This place is beautiful." Akalea couldn't help but be in awe by the scenery and this made Liliana chuckle. "Now, this will be the place where you and I will be training from now on." Liliana says as she enters and Akalea follows. The door shutting itself behind them.
"Now, why don't we start learning of the word Protector and why there needs to be one." Liliana says as she gently sits down next to the pond-like-lake and touches the big crystal gently since it was easy to reach. The big crystal lights up from the touch and Liliana could feel warmth from the crystal. "The word Protector is exactly what it means, to protect. But who should we protect and why do we protect?" Liliana starts and asked Akalea a question. "The people and those dear to us. We protect because that's what we should do for those who are dear to us and the people to not get hurt and prevent any danger to them."
Akalea answers and Liliana nods her head, happy with Akalea's simple but true answer. "Yes, we protect the people around us because we don't want them in harm's way." Liliana says and stops as she touches the water with her finger tips. "But what if there is something inevitable and hard to prevent which could lead to a lot of deaths and suffering?" Liliana asks which Akalea was surprised at. "Then, we try to prevent as much destruction, deaths and suffering as much as possible." Akalea says and Liliana nods. "But it's not all the time that things would go our way favorably. We can't save everyone which we need to save so badly because we are only few but in my case, I was the only one in my lifetime. I have experienced so much that I can't bear but hate myself for the times I wasn't able to save someone."
Liliana says as she looks at her reflection on the water, the sad expression on her face. "I know I can't always protect them but it destroys me whenever I couldn't protect one because there were many more who need help and need protection. I wasn't perfect nor was I perfect in my job as a Protector. I always wondered why I, of all people out there, was chosen as the Protector of the three dimensions." Akalea could see Liliana's sad look as she spoke of her past. "I always doubted myself and hated myself because I'm the Protector who needs to protect but....." Liliana trails off and looks at Akalea with a smile.
"As I went through my life and moved forward, I have realized why I was chosen and why it is also a difficult job out of everything in this world. It was because so I could see the smiles of the people I had saved, their tears for surviving, their generous gestures towards me even though I heed nothing in return and their support of me even though I couldn't save the others on multiple occasions. But thanks to my power of seeing and talking to the dead, most of them had thanked me instead of resenting me of why I couldn't save nor protect them. They told me even though I couldn't save them, they were thankful that I was even thinking of them while saving the others around them trying to save them as well but failed by a few moments."
Liliana gave Akalea a sad smile while reminiscing the past as Akalea understands Liliana's situation and feelings. "Even though I hated my job at times but I'm also thankful for it because if it weren't for this, I couldn't have met Luke, conceive my children, the people I have met and saved throughout my whole life. I wouldn't be here, looking at another Protector besides me." Liliana ends with a happy smile towards Akalea who smiled back. "So, I wish you will choose to become a Protector like me and I wish you would give me your permission to teach you what I had learned." Liliana says to Akalea with so much sincerity that took Akalea's breath away as she smiles at Liliana.
"I would love to if only you'll let me." Akalea says and Liliana nods her head, smiling from ear to ear, happy of Akalea's decision. "I will tell you first what power a Protector has. There is only one and that is The Light of the Protector or basically speaking, The Light. The Light will either make a shield around you and other people around you or will make a shield around your body, protecting you as you fight. This shield of The Light is different from the power of forcefield or the power to shield since those powers can be broken once the bearer is weakened or is destroyed by a stronger power. The Light's shield will never break nor will it be destroyed, it can prevent you from taking any damage whatsoever."
Liliana explains and Akalea looks at her, her eyes brimming with excitement from knowing about The Light. "That's kind of overpowered though." Akalea says and thinks about The Light in that kind of manner. "Yeah, that's because it's the power the One above has given to me, a Protector and you, a Protector as well." Liliana says and Akalea nods her head, understanding. Liliana suddenly claps as if she had forgot to say something. "The Light also enhances whatever power you're using by 5x unlike the usual power to enhance which is 2x." Liliana adds and Akalea looks at Liliana with a dumbfounded look. "That's too overpowered!" Akalea yells and puts her hands on her head, silently panicking but also excited by that.
"I know, right? I mean we need to protect the people around us and ourselves at the same time so I don't think it's that much since I was the only one and I needed it but still it's overpowered like you said. Now, you'll be able to use it, too. Come on. I'll teach you, right now." Liliana says as she got up and pulls Akalea up before Akalea could even move. Akalea was stupefied as to how she got up when she was just on the floor a second ago. "Relax your body and close your eyes. Try to hear everything around you, the wind, nature and the darkness you see after you closed your eyes. Similar what you did earlier about imagining the ball- I mean the core of light at the center but with light instead. Imagine the darkness begins to lighten as a trickle of light forms from little stars to bigger stars until the darkness is gone."
Akalea does what Liliana has told her and relaxed as she imagines. "This took me a while to master since the One above didn't specifically tell me how it is done so I had to find a way myself. That stingy old-" Liliana was looking away as she remembers what she had gone through to find a way to master the power with little details of what she was given by the One above. As she turns to look at Akalea, she was cut off by gasping. The scene in front of her startled yet fascinated her at the same time. Liliana could already see The Light's shield forming around her body like a body shield. "Wow. You got it in one go. Lucky." Liliana glooms out as she was envious that Akalea did it faster but then again, Liliana felts proud.
"Well, I have a good teacher." Akalea says with her eyes still closed and Liliana looks at Akalea with teary eyes as if in awe of what Akalea said. "You can open your eyes if you feel comfortable and ready." Akalea opens her eyes once Liliana said that. Akalea looks at her body and could see a bright white light just a centimeter away from her body. "Your shield looks more brighter than usual. Hmm.... I'll attack you so brace yourself." Liliana says with an excited grin plastered on her face as Akalea felt a drop of sweat run down the side of her face as she braces herself of the impact. "Hyaa!" Akalea sees Liliana forming a mixture of Water, Wind, Earth and Fire into a ball that looked deadly and destructive to Akalea but she trusted the shield... I... Trust the shield, right? Akalea asks herself as the elemental ball of destruction was hurled towards her.
Akalea looks right ahead, facing the elemental ball head on. The elemental ball made contact with Akaleas shield and Akalea took a step back from the impact but was nonetheless, unscathed from it. "Cool." Akalea coos at the shield and looks at Liliana who still has an excited grin on her face. "Okay, now try using a power while in the shield and see if the power has been multiplied by 5." Liliana says and Akalea nods her head as she racks her brain to decide what power to use. In the end, she chose wind as it was what she previously used. Akalea closes her eyes and puts her right palm up like she does when trying to make a weapon out of wind. She imagined her sword but wind form. She felt her power ripple from her body towards her palm.
Akalea opens her eyes, lo and behold the sword in wind form where it was more detailed, has more wind blades than the last time and it felt more sharp than usual. "Here, slice this." Liliana suddenly throws a huge ass boulder at Akalea which caught her off guard and sliced the boulder in pieces in a hurry which is unlike herself. "That could've gone wrong, Liliana! A little heads up next time would be good!" Akalea exclaims as she was stunned by what just happened and if it weren't for her fast reflexes... I could've XP.... Akalea shivers from the thought. "But look on the bright side. That boulder just now was enhanced by 5 times but you still beat it with your wind sword." Liliana tries to cheer up Akalea to make her stop thinking about the boulder again.
"You're right. But if you think I would forget about the boulder, then you're wrong." Akalea says, crossing her arms like a child angry at her mom. Liliana's eyes soften, looking at the child-like Akalea knowing she hasn't even met her mom yet she got through everything with her father. "Come on. We gotta train more so you can get accustomed to The Light." With that, Liliana and Akalea trained all night until it was almost 12am. They were both sweaty and breathing heavily as they fought it out as they trained. "I'm having this feeling you didn't give all your strength." Liliana says and Akalea laughs. "Like you weren't?" Akalea replies back and Liliana narrows her eyes. "Touché." Liliana says and this made the two laugh. Thus, concluding their training has ended.
The two made their way back to Luke's office and sees that Luke was patiently waiting for them to finish as he was enjoying his coffee time. Akalea and the couple parted ways, going to their own rooms. As Akalea walks towards her room, she looks at her surroundings seeing no one out as it's late in the night. As she got near to the stairs, she suddenly hears a noise and whispers so Akalea got curious and decides to follow the noises as she uses the power of invisibility while already concealing herself and her aura. She smoothly makes way to where the noise was at while seeing one hooded person taking a turn to the left hallway.
Akalea follows right behind the person and sees this person opening the last room door to enter. Akalea quickly enters the room right after and once the door was shut, all Akalea could see was the darkness of the room. Then, a fire was suddenly lit and Akalea could see that it was a fireplace and the hooded person lets down his/her hood. Right then, the fire starts to go unstable until it begins to form a demon's face, it's horns and evil look in sight. But Akalea was more shocked to see who the person in the hood was.
What are you doing here?!
