Synopsis
Each letter of our words has its meaning, has it's the definition given by the person who owned it. Each thank you, congrats, I miss you and I love you we say...we defined it the way how we understand it. How important words are? The significance of words can't be measured of any device and instruments that the world has. The world will be in chaos without words. Everything will be confusing without words. Every single word that comes out from our lips has a big impact not only on us but on the people around us. Words can change everything. Yes! It can change everything. Like how a single word changes my life. Who would think that a simple goodbye would be this hurtful? Who would think that a simple goodbye would break me? Who would think that a single goodbye changes my life? I lost him with just a single word. A single forbidden word. He's a player who likes the game too much... And I'm just a simple girl who hates the game but learned to love the player. And we despise only one word. The forbidden word. Goodbye.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

I don't know how it started. I was always don't like him because of his arrogance and confidence. He's not the man that I dreamed of but I still fell in love with him. How is it possible to fell in love with the person that you used to hate?

I stared at the setting sun and a bitter smile crept at my lips. And as long as my eyes remain on it, the memory of the past starting to play like a movie. A memory of how it all started.

"HOW can he do this to me after what I have done for him?!"

I secretly grimaced in my best friend's remark, Allison Sullivan. She dramatically wiped her tears and blow off her nose on the tissue that she was holding and hug her pillow tightly. I sighed. This is what I hate every time she got a boyfriend. She's so dramatic that even a simple argument could make her cry and whine like a child.

I was busy reading my favorite novel when I received her message saying that it's 911. I fastly went to her apartment because I thought that it was an emergency but what I saw when I arrived make me sighed heavily. It's just like I'd always seen her in this situation for the same reasons.

I walked slowly near her and squat in front of her. And again I sighed.

"What is it again?" I asked.

She turned to me still sobbing and started to tell me what happened.

" I saw James with another girl and they are holding hands and sweet at each other. He cheated on me."

I raised my brow at her.

"Did you ask him if who is that girl?"

She shakes her head and then wipes her tears. When she turned at me she's already smiling which makes me massage my forehead and sighed again. I don't know how many times I did it since I came here.

"I just run away when I saw them."

I rolled my eyes at her and lightly slap her face.

"Don't assume and do things impulsively so you won't regret it in the end, Ally. And please don't use 911 again. I nearly have a heart attack when I received your message."

She bites her lower lip and nods at me. I sighed again and look at her but then slowly I smiled and hug her. Maybe sometimes I got irritated and annoyed at her but I love her. And I always want her to be happy. If I will go back to the time and they will make me choose a best friend I will still choose her because she is the one I want to have.

"I'm sorry for bothering you, Xyley," she said.

"You are not a bother to me just don't use 911 again."

She lightly giggled and hug me again. She began to tell me her plans about confronting her boyfriend about what she saw and I just nod at her if I needed to. Well, I'm going to support her as long as she did it right. The sun is already set when I decided to go home. I quietly walking in the street while hugging my book. The noise made by different living things that I passed by invading my ears. Some street kids keep bugging every pedestrian to ask for money and food. And a noise came from different vehicles with the noise of all the people strolling in the street make the twilight busy. I turn towards the murky alley when I reach our streets. Good thing that some politicians put some street lights here that make the place not too dark at night.

I almost near to our house when I heard a lot of footsteps, seems like the ones who owned it is escaping from someone because of its desperate pace. It was followed by the shout and whimper of some guys that made me turn where it came from to check out what is happening. And my eyes open widely when I realize what is happening.

"Shit! A riot!" I whimpered and find a place where I can hide to avoid the two groups who almost kill each other with their fistfight. I look around to find a place that I can hide but before I can find one, a firm hand pull me behind the car that made me shrieked but his large palm covers my mouth that makes me move harshly to slip away. I struggled to slip away from those hands who holding me tightly. But it's too strong that it didn't even move a bit.

"Can you stop moving?!"

I froze when I heard that familiar voice. I turned to the guy who is still holding me. And when I saw Prism I almost step back from him. I look at him with my horror expression but he just gives me his bored look.

"Don't make noise." He seriously said to me, almost a warning.

I irritatedly removed his palm from my mouth and throw him my death glare. What he is doing? I am sure that he's one of those guys who are fighting like a criminal. I know that he is involved in the riot because the other group was his friends. But why he's here?

"What----.?

" Don't make some noise, Xyley!" he interrupted which make me close my lips firmly. He glared at me but I just rolled my eyes. Being involved in his shitty doings is the last thing that I want to do. I attempt to walk away but he harshly pulled me back and gives me his deathly glare. "You stubborn woman! Do you want to die?"

"Let me go you asshole!"

He holds my hand tightly that made me whimper again. He pulls me out of where we are hiding and began to walk away from the riot on the other street. I still struggling on his hold but it's too firm. Strangely it doesn't feel hurt.

I look at him with a wonderful expression when he stops walking. And when he turned his gaze at me I unconsciously stepped back coincide with the sudden fast pace beating of my heart. I avoided my gaze away from his Irish-mud eyes. My eyes get widened when I realized that we're already in front of our house and when I walk to enter our gate I abruptly bounce back because he's still holding my hands.

"Where's my thank you?" He asked with his furrowed eyebrows.

I raised my brow at him and remove his hold that luckily he let go of my hands that make it easier for me. I rolled my eyes at him.

"Why would I?" I stubbornly said as I turned my back from him.

Thank you, your face!
