A few days after the end of the Demon invasion, Sydney was determined to find the hidden DERAD Bunkers that she had made for emergencies like this. Driving to an long, empty road, Sydney reminisces back before she found out about Avery's powers. She was happy and naïve to the important things in her life. She loved her family, even if she didn't show it towards her daughter. Regretting how she treated her daughter; she began to feel jealous when she began to think of her daughter and her girlfriend. Suddenly, she slammed on brakes.
"No, I should be happy about my daughter finding love. I shouldn't be jealous." She thought to herself as she slammed her head against the steering wheel. "Wow, you're really letting Avery get to you. Kind of makes me want to help you two reconcile with her." Mai said as she appeared in the passenger seat, scaring Sydney. "What the h …How did you?" Sydney asked. "I sensed you needed help searching for the DERAD bunkers you're after." Mai said. Immediately, Sydney drew one of the guns on her thigh and pointed it at Mai's head. "You'll be wasting your bullets. Like Avery, I'm indestructible." "How did you know about classified information?" "Because DERAD's Database security is pathetic compared to the Nexus system we use on the base. Plus, you and I both know if you want to rebuild the world faster, then you'll need the DERAD's technology or something better." Mai said. "Better?" Sydney said as she slowly holsters her gun. "Yeah, and I can't guarantee you a meeting. Anyway, I wanted to give you a present.""Present?" Sydney said. Mai summoned a small watch to her hand. "This is a holoband. Similar to the one your daughter, this one will allow you to access the Moon base at any given time. Just touch a door and think about the Moon Base and the door will be connected to it. It will also allow you to use the vehicles we have in the hangar.""Wow, you really trust me enough to have this.""Sure, why not trust Avery's mother? It's not like you killed someone important to us. Besides, the wolves taken a liking to their grandmother.""Grandmother?""Yeah, they see Avery and Yolunda as their mother. So, that makes you their grandmother.""Well, I can't argue with that logic. It's their instincts." Sydney said as she grabbed the watch and put it on."Also, I wanted to give you a proposal you might like to hear. But, let's get to the first Bunker.""Okay, we'll be there in twenty minutes." Sydney said as pressed the gas pedal.Twenty minutes later, Sydney and Mai arrive at an abandoned gas station. Walking into the gas station, they seen nothing but trash and expired food. However, what they needed was in the back. Walking to the back room, Mai noticed a strange sound coming from the walls."Is that how you're dampening the powers of your superhero allies? That's amazing.""Wow, a compliment for our technology. I'm happy to hear you say that.""Well, you should be. We used the same technology to weaken Reo and Anko when they're training their children. It was effective bringing their power output down.""Huh, so your saying we can use the same technology to weaken Avery if necessary." Sydney said."Yeah, but are you serious about using something that weaken your daughter? Have you thought what could happen? Her enemies might exploit this kind of information.""Enemies? You mean Erius Dark." Sydney said, confused."Nope, I'm talking about the humans that fear her. And the all the others in this universe in the future. Not to mention, the Lucrada Clan's enemies. And they are more dangerous than any of the people here.""Alright, I won't use this information." Sydney said as she touched a wall, activating the hidden door in the wall. "After you," Sydney said.Mai walked into the elevator, followed by Sydney, and the room went dark."Forgot to pay the electric bill." Mai said as she created a ball of light."Of course not. There must be a problem with the power generator. Some wires must have been destroyed somewhere." Sydney said as she tried to find the elevator's junction box.""Let me ask you something. Did you keep anything dangerous down here?""No, nothing dangerous. An unstable being made of living energy. Our best scientists couldn't understand what it was, so we had it put it into a near-death state using the same tech we used to keep Draz under for years.""Worked out the same way, I guess. There's something draining your generator. Looks like an Olacian.""Olacian? What's that?" Sydney asked."An alien race, that comes from another universe, that can absorb any type of energy. They're one of the rare beings in the omniverse capable universal travel. Sadly, they used this ability to go on a quest to conquer the omniverse. Fortunately, they're process is being halted by the Nexus organization. I didn't even realize they made it to this universe." Mai explained."Another universe? Nexus? Reo?""Right, we haven't brought you up to speed about the more advanced things about the universe. Well, omniverse.""You mean like the reality tree thing you were talking about with Avery.""Yes, and no. Let's just say there's a lot of things you don't want to know about. Your human mental capacity wouldn't handle it all at once.""Okay, but I want a good explanation of everything you know." Sydney said."Alright," Mai as she summoned a red box. "Here put this on." She said as she handed the box to Sydney. "Alright, so what can we do against the… Olacian?" Sydney asked as she took off her shirt."I can fight against it easily but killing it would be dangerous. They explode once their hearts stop. But I do have a way to contain it. And, put it somewhere safe.""Wow, I wish I met you sooner. You would've been made a perfect agent for DERAD.""Yeah, I doubt you would've like me working for you. There's only four people in the omniverse I would listen to. Anyone other than them might as well be small suggestions." Mai said as Sydney finished getting dressed."So, what's with the suit?" Sydney asked."That suit was a prototype I made for Avery. It should allow you access your latent Jan-gu abilities buried deep in your body.""Jan-gu?""The race of your adoptive father.""Yeah, adoptive father. I don't share any blood with him.""Well, Jan-gu imbues their loved ones with a portion of their powers so they can stand beside them without any side effects.""Side effects?" Sydney said."Oh, don't worry. It's nothing major. Regular people would start to fear her more and more if they don't possess a strong enough will.""Really?" Sydney asked. "That explains a lot." She thought to herself."Anyway, you should be feeling a slight rush of power entering body right now.""What? AHHH!" Sydney screamed in pain. Then, visions of other worlds flew past Sydney's eyes as her appearance changed. Her hair became red and eyes became silver. Her body radiated a white aura."Good, it looks like your body is adapting to your powers easier than most. Now, all you need to do is breath slowly. Let the dimensional energy flow through your body.""Whoa, this is amazing. And Avery feels like this all the time." Sydney said as she looked at her hands radiate an energy. "Careful, your powers are extremely sensitive to your emotions. Get too excited and you might blow a hole in this elevator. Just sit here and try to keep your emotions in check. I'll go scout ahead the situation." Mai said as she phased through the elevator floor. Sitting down, Sydney decided to meditate. Meanwhile, Mai phased through the ceiling and sees a hangar full of fleets of planes, cars, and motorcycles onto two large aircraft carriers. "Woah, this place is huge. I am guessing with the help of their secret backer. Glad to see the Lucrada funds are being used for good." She thought as she flew down the ground. She, then, activated her holo-band and tossed up in the air small orbs that scanned the area and hacked into the system that everything worked on. "Alright, time for a major upgrade. But, first, let's deal with the Olacian first. Shall we? Sydney." She said before she turned around."How?" Sydney asked as she appeared from thin air."You and Avery are very alike. You're both are very stubborn and only listen whenever you feel like it.""Huh, and here I thought she got that from her father." Sydney said."In a way, she did," Mai thought."So, what are you doing? And what do you mean a major upgrade?""Exactly as I said. An upgrade. I set these spheres to scan and reconstruct your vehicles into something more efficient.""Like electric cars." Sydney said."More like Hyper cars powered by Atronium.""How did you know…"About the super-volatile element Derad sealed away in a self-automated headquarters in the oceans, you call the Raft.""Wow, the information network you have is top grade. Think we can get access to it." Sydney said."That's if you agree to my proposal.""Proposal?""I want you to form an organization to help Avery with her job as Guardian.""Guardian? What's that?""Guardians are as the name suggests. They are the protectors of one or many universes. And your daughter is the guardian of this universe. But, soon or later, she will be too busy to deal with your little problems that you can't deal with. Like seriously, demons and Angels should've been child's play to that sorceress and her organization. But, you all were too busy worry I got about making sure Avery weren't abusing her powers.""You're right. We should've handled the demon invasion better and could've solved it a lot quicker than we had. But, you can't say anything. You could've help us by informing Avery about the invasion when it happened." Sydney said."And, do you really think that she would've came to your aid? A planet who drove her away because of their own fear and…Mai, suddenly, felt something coming towards them quickly. Turning around quickly, Mai punched as fast as she could, sending out a compressed air blast. Hit by the air blast, a ball of tentacles was thrown into a wall. Quickly grabbing her pistols, Sydney aimed at the ball."What is this thing?""The Olacian?""What? That's not possible. It looks different from the first encounter.""Must've changed when it drained you power generators. One thing is for sure, Olacians have a distinct smell.""Oh, that's weird. I don't smell anything.""Well, that's because you haven't gotten used to your senses yet. The human sense of smell can't pick up on their scents. And that's for all for all universes." Mai said as she walked closer. Instantly, a hole opened and a hand grabbed Mai by the neck."Uo esemell sedislisous(You smell delicious)" The Olacian said before opening it mouth, that stretches abnormally large. Aiming at the Olacian's tentacles, Sydney fired her pistols until they were empty. Unfortunately, it didn't effect it. It was like the bullets were absorbed by it. "Shit! I should've brought more mags." She thought as she holstered her guns. She, then, ran towards a nearby case. Opening it, Sydney seen a bow with seven arrows with different arrowheads."I don't remember putting this down here." Sydney said as she grabbed the bow and one of the arrows. Aiming at the Olacian, Sydney drew back the bow, which should've been difficult due to the composition of the drawstring. Before letting go of the drawstring, Sydney noticed the bow generated a electromagnetic field around the arrow. "Hey! Get out of there!!" She yells out to Mai. "This is going to hurt." She thought as she released the drawstring. Instantly, the arrow was propelled forward abnormally fast and loudly, flinging Sydney back into a plane. Breaking four pieces, the arrow flew into the Olacian and exploded."Woah, I didn't try to do that." Sydney said."Well, luckily, it knocked out the Olacian. But, it didn't think you would have railgun technology like that. Not bad.""Thanks, but where's the Lucians?" Sydney said."Right here," Mai answered as she summoned a metallic plate. "This is a Binding Pad. We use this to imprison our most dangerous enemies. Whether they're living planets or power-hungry, man-eating parasites, this pad can hold it.""How?""Truthfully, I don't know. Reo and Anko created this when they were fused together. And they make the most complicated things in the omniverse.""Fused?""Sorry, Lucrada Clan secret. Can't tell you so easily. You'll need to be accepted into the clan.""Like a cult?""No, it's a family. A giant-omniversal sized family. Anyway, back to my proposal.""Yes, but let me use an airship and a small squad of jets. We need to get aid between countries quickly and safely.""Yes, of course. That's the purpose for me upgrading them.""So, if you knew I would agree to your proposal. Why give me the choice?""We, Jan-gu, don't like to interfere with the free will of lower beings. That's what make you alive.""Huh, well that's good to know. Glad to be working with you." Sydney said as she held out her hand."Likewise, Director…"No, sub-Director. Let my daughter be the Director. She's the best choice.""Alright, Sub-Director Ari," "Ari?"
