The expedition group then followed after Gruron and the elders' lead as they walked through the half-build houses and the other ordinary ogres working on those constructions.
Seeing the village chief walking in with at least 10 huge ogre warriors at his back, the other ogres stopped their work for a second as they slightly bowed their heads when the group walked past them. Most of the ogres could be seen working on building the second layer of wooden wall while the rest took care of making the simple houses.
It was expected that the ogres that were found outside of the initial wall of the village were busy with constructions as they were pressed on time, not knowing whether the humans would attack them again or not. And if they haven't finished making the second layer of walls by the time the humans decide to come over and visit the village, then there's zero chance that the new houses that they've built will be able to stand the siege.
