Chapter 83 - Midnight Snack

Matthew silently sneaked out of the kobold village and followed his minimap back to the bear's burrow as he still got a lot of bear meat to eat.

Matthew walked carefully when he was still near the perimeter of the village and when he was quite a distance from it, he climbed a tree and started swinging away because it's still the fastest way for him to move from place A to place B.

The 30 minutes walking distance is covered in about 15 minutes and Matthew soon arrived at the bear's burrow. The covers he made to cover the burrow's entrance using sticks are still untouched and Matthew heaved a sigh of relief as he worried a little that a curious animal would go into the bear's burrow and found a very expensive free meal for them to take.

But after thinking about it, it was a needless worry because,

'Who would dare to intrude inside the bear's territory, let alone go into its burrow?? Except for a certain stupid creature that had nothing to do with his life, I don't think anybody else will want to cause a problem with the bear.'

Matthew then took out the sticks one by one and went inside the burrow. The bear carcass is still intact and still in the same condition as Matthew left it.

Without waiting for long, Matthew went ahead and started opening up the bear's skin and started munching on the bear's raw meat.

'Although it's a shame that I can't bring it back and ask the kobold to roast it first since that means that I will have to share it, eating raw meat is not bad at all after you've gotten used to it.'

-Data about Horribilis Brown Bear Collected (1%)-

Matthew kept on eating the huge bear that was 2 or 3 times his own body size and thanked the system for giving him some type of magic stomach where he could eat something way bigger than his size since it would probably take him more than a few hours, maybe even half a week to finish such large amounts of meat and collect the monster data and bionutrients from the brown bear.

But fortunately, Matthew didn't have to deal with such problems as both his mouth and stomach had the capabilities to quickly suck the meat clean out of the bear in only about an hour. With the bear's body containing so much meat and organs and with the bear's anatomy having fewer inedible parts, Matthew was able to get 58% monster data about the Horribilis Brown Bear in one sitting.

Matthew's stomach was practically bloated right now and it might even explode if Matthew decide to poke it with his claws, but the fact that he could even eat the bear that was even bigger than the biggest crocodile he had before in one sitting, is a fact that Matthew could celebrate as it means that his stomach capacity had been doubled once again after evolving for the third time.

And more stomach capacity could only mean a good thing for Matthew whose growth literally depended on the things that went into his stomach.

'I wonder how much meat the system actually turns into bionutrients and how much it leaves alone for my stomach to digest and get the nutrients for my body…'

But Matthew didn't think about it too much as it didn't have any benefit for him yet to know about such things, but one thing that he is curious and wanted to know is just how much bionutrients the big bear had given him, so without waiting for anything, Matthew called the system and opened the basic info tab,

-----------

Name: Matthew

Race : Chameleon Chimera

Level : 18

Bionutrients : 1828

Monster Data Collected:

-Common Wandering Spider (100%)

-Brown-Tailed Deer (100%)

-Lupus Wolf (100%)

-Scrofa Boar (13%)

-Porosus Crocodile (100%)

-Boa Dendroaspis (100%)

-Macaque Monkey (100%)

-Horribilis Brown Bear Collected (58%)

----------

Matthew closed his eyes when he saw the top part of the bionutrients section and checked the monster data first, to double-check the amount of monster data that he got after eating the bear, and he also noticed the 1 percent increase in the Scrofa Boar monster data after eating that single thigh.

'Alright now big boy, let's see how much bionutrients you give me.'

Matthew then looked up the list and saw the number of bionutrients seems to change into a 4-digit number instead of the 3-digit number the last time that he checked his info tab. He then looked at the actual number and he finally saw that he currently had 1828 bionutrients sitting in his bionutrients storage.

'Alright, Matthew, quick maths. The last time you checked your bionutrients, it was about 800ish and now it has an extra 1 in front of the letter 8, which means...1000 bionutrients in one sitting…'

'...'

'Well, heck it should at least be worth that much! I spent all my aura reserve for that and if I only got a measly 600 or 700 bionutrients then I will only say that it's not worth it and 10/10 wouldn't do it again if not for the new monster data that I got with it!'

'With that same amount of effort, even maybe less, I could get more than 2000 bionutrients from defeating the crocodile group and without having to deal with that scary shining aura blade that could definitely make me a cripple!'

After Matthew finished throwing his usual little tantrum-monologue inside his head, Matthew then took a deep breath and calmed himself down as his next task will be a serious one that involves many lives and he needs to be in the right mindset to do it.

'Now that I have a few more hours until dawn and a full stomach, let's just wait outside the village, and wait for the humans to come.'

'If I were them, I would probably do the finishing blow right about today since the kobolds' strength is already dwindled enough and the humans only needed one final push to completely take over the kobold village. Dragging out more will only waste their time since the outcome is already decided for them. So the attack this morning will most certainly happen.'

'Now the question is, should I go over to them and intercept them even before they decide to move out? That is certainly the best course of action to catch them off guard and deal the most damage to them to prevent or at least make them think a couple of times before they decide to mess with the kobolds again. But the problem is, I don't know where their base is.'

'So… camping it is…'

Matthew then stretched a little after he spent a full hour sitting on his eating session, and soon set out to camp out around the outside of the kobold village and patiently waited for his targets to come to him on their own.
