'I'm awake now system, you can turn off the scanner function. Thank you.'
Matthew opened up his eyes and saw that his current nest is quite stuffy with 3 crocodile corpses laying around him.
Matthew spent hours last night dragging 4 crocodile corpses back to his nest, putting three of the crocodiles inside the nest with him while he left the big crocodile outside the nest because Matthew wouldn't be able to sleep comfortably if he also put the giant crocodile inside with him.
There are supposed to be 5 crocodiles that Matthew had defeated last night, but after the long fight Matthew decided that he wanted to eat one to ease his burden so that he would be dragging fewer crocodiles back to his nest, and he is also curious how long would it take him to eat a single crocodile, and what is his limits.
Considering that Matthew now is able to eat 2 deers in 1 sitting, Matthew thought should be able to at least eat 1 normal-sized crocodile in 1 sitting. To satisfy his curiosity and to help ease his burden, Matthew decided to just eat one of the normal-sized crocodiles then and there fresh at the lakeside.
And after trying it for himself, Matthew now knew that the amount of crocodile's meat is not to be underestimated and eating 1 whole crocodile in sitting is about the same as eating 2 whole bodies of deers.
After Matthew finished eating, he finally started doing the hard labor that he was avoiding, which is dragging and pushing the hundreds of kilos of crocodile back to his nest. Although there is supposed to be no other predator in the area since Matthew had dealt with both of them, the wolves and the crocs, Matthew just wanted to be safe and just in case there are junior crocodiles still living inside the lake, and Matthew didn't want his hard-earned crocodile meat to be taken by them.
Matthew knew that the task would be arduous, but he did it nonetheless and adding reasons such as training his stamina and his tongue strength to motivate himself even more even though he didn't know if such training would even work. But boy, he didn't expect that each croc would take him around 1 hour, and the big crocodile took him about 1 and a half hours to drag. By the time he finished, Matthew only remembered plunging his body down head first to the soil inside his nest, activating the scanner function before he totally lost his consciousness and just only woke up earlier.
As usual, when he just woke up, Matthew stretched his body first shaking them around before going outside the nest, and stretched his tongue by hanging on the trees and doing a little swinging session.
When he finished exercising his physical body, Matthew then connected to his aura center and checked to see if his aura had returned back to full capacity. Matthew then relaxed his mind and connected his mind with the orb in the center of his body. When his mind and the orb connected, Matthew was relieved that the brilliant white glow was back and the clear glass container that he saw yesterday was nowhere to be seen.
With everything checked out and there is nothing wrong with his body condition, Matthew can now focus on the problem at hand. Because he is currently outside, he could clearly see the big crocodile corpse is now just sitting still near the entrance of his nest looking like a gatekeeper for his nest.
'Having a powerful companion would be nice I guess.' A thought flashed by Matthew's head.
But after looking more at it, the big crocodile looked more like a statue rather than a guard because of his stiff body after its death.
But the main problem here is not the crocodile's taking up space in his home or anything like that. Although sleeping with crocodile carcasses is not normal by any means, Matthew is now more worried about how long could he finish all the crocodiles.
Even his stomach now is still a quarter full from eating one of the ordinary crocodiles last night.
'From this many portions of meat, how much bionutrients will I get by the time I finish them all?…'
'System, can you please open the info tab?'
-------
Name: Matthew
Race : Altered Veiled Chameleon
Level : 14
Bionutrients : 1769
Monster Data Collected:
-Common Wandering Spider (100%)
-Brown-Tailed Deer (100%)
-Lupus Wolf (100%)
-Scrofa Boar (12%)
-Porosus Crocodile (34%)
-------
'Wait, isn't 1769 bionutrients is already more than the last time I stored up my bionutrients for my evolution!? How could this be? How much did I actually eat??'
'If I remember I only ate 2 deers which is about 350+ bionutrients each, the boar's intestines, and a whole crocodile which I don't know how much bionutrients they gave me, added with the remaining 281 bionutrients leftover from my evolution….'
'I don't know… I don't want to deal with maths first thing in the morning,' Matthew then looked up to the sky and corrected himself 'afternoon.'
'I guess it doesn't matter whether in this world or back on earth, my sleep schedule is destined to be always messed up.'
As someone who wanted to do music and make music for a living, Matthew depended a lot on his mind to be creative. And for unknown reasons, Matthew's brain that was in charge of creativity only worked well starting around 1 AM in the morning until 5 AM. It runs so well as if it was given doping if its performance was compared to any other time of the day. And that leads to Matthew forming a habit of sleeping around 7 AM and waking up at 4 PM every day, making him a nocturnal human.
Putting the bionutrients matter aside, Matthew then looked at the monster data that he had collected. The deer monster data is already full after he had eaten another 2 deers, which is neither good nor bad since Matthew didn't really have any body parts from the deer that he wanted to add to his body.
He then looked at the crocodile monster data which he had just gotten yesterday,
'If I assume that one whole crocodile could give me much or less 30% of monster data, then it would at least take me eating 2 other ordinary-sized crocodiles if I'm lucky and 3 other ordinary crocodiles if my luck was bad. But, If I eat the big crocodile, I think it could give me around 40 to 50 percent of monster data which will guarantee me getting the complete 100% after eating one more crocodile. That means it should take me about 2 more days to complete the monster data for the Porosus Crocodile.'
Matthew didn't know what level his next evolution would be, but he got a feeling that it would be when he reached level 15, which is only a level away from his current level.
'And why do I waste my time playing the guessing while I can just,'
'System, what is the required level for my next evolution?'
'Host's third evolution will be in level 15.'
'Yup, I guessed it right. Thank you system!'
'Talking about level, why is it so hard for me to level up when I defeated opponents in the same level or 1 level above me, but it is significantly easier to level up when I defeated creatures 2 levels above mine? System?'
'The leveling system of the creatures in this world is already set by a system on its own.'
'Yes, I heard from God that he uses an automatic system in this world for the reincarnation system as well, maybe he made a similar thing for managing the levels. I guess ruling two worlds at the same time is not easy even for God. By the way system, do you know how the leveling system works?'
'The system has insufficient data to answer host's question.'
'I guessed so. Thank you system.'
Since Matthew hasn't felt hungry yet, he decided to skip his breakfast first and decided that he wanted to take a swing to the new area. But he hasn't decided to fully explore the unknown area beyond the place that he had mapped out in his minimap since he still has to finish eating the crocodiles first to complete the monster data for his next evolution.
'But before that, I guess I could tidy up my nest a little bit.'
Matthew is still using the wolf den just like when the wolves left them. Besides throwing out the boar remnants that the wolves had for their last dinner, Matthew hasn't cleaned up the wolves remnants that he had for his meals.
Except for the wolf bones that he used for a makeshift door the last time, the rest of the bones are piled up in the corner of the nest as Matthew didn't have any use for them.
Now with 3 additional tenants with big bodies inside the nest, Matthew wanted to make some extra space for them so that he will regain some of his comfy sleeping space.
Matthew then decided to bury them near the entrance of the nest at the side of the big rock as a memento that this place used to be their home and making it their final resting place would be proper according to Matthew's conscience.
After that, he stacked the 3 crocodiles in the corner. He left the big crocodile outside since Matthew is still against moving it into his nest because Matthew is quite sure that the place is free from other predators for now and it won't get stolen even if he put the crocodile outside of his nest.
With Matthew finished cleaning up, he then climbed up a tree halfway, before he attached his tongue to its branch and started swinging away towards the new area.
