Scurrying around the forest, Matthew is searching for another wandering spider for him to hunt and eat to complete his monster data collection and get more bionutrients. Although Matthew didn't know how many bionutrients that he needed in the evolution process or exactly how it works. Matthew is going with the logic that the more money you have then the more things you can buy, thus why it is one of his goals to also collect more bionutrients. While his other goal is to find other animals besides the wandering spider.
Since God said that Matthew can use other animals' body parts to upgrade his, finding more animals with their own uniqueness that may be useful for him is beneficial for himself. Looking at how the boars and wolves fight yesterday, Matthew knew that his current capabilities are not enough to fight or let alone defeat them.
Matthew used his excellent eyesight to find caves or other places that are suitable for the animals to rest since it's impossible for the animals from last night to just suddenly appear out of nowhere, they must have a nest or a place to stay while it's still daytime.
But nonetheless, his main goal right now is to hunt the wandering spider, so when Matthew spotted another huge web, similar to the spider's web yesterday, he then stopped and started to think about his strategy on how to do this hunt. Since he has a human level of intelligence, Matthew wanted to use that advantage to help himself survive in this forest.
Matthew is currently standing at the base of a tree where he found the spider web. He remembered yesterday that the spider appeared after he disrupted its web, so today, he could use that information to bait the spider to come out of its hiding place. But he also got to avoid the same situation yesterday where he was chased down because he panicked and got his side wounded from being careless, but luckily either a chameleon has a very good regeneration ability, or from other factors, the wound is fully closed up today when he woke up.
Matthew then decided his strategy and started his hunting operation. Instead of directly climbing the tree, Matthew walked around the area and grabbed a small pebble by sticking it into his tongue. Then Matthew started climbing the tree with the pebble still sticking into his tongue, but he put it under his body so that it wouldn't be noticeable from the outside.
In the middle of climbing the tree, Matthew slowly changed his skin color into a shade of brown, very similar to the tree bark that he is currently climbing on. One by one, starting from Matthew's head, his skin color changed. And when he is near the web, his skin color is already the same as the tree trunk from the top of his head until the tip of his tail. From a distance, it should be very hard to notice him right now clinging onto the tree trunk.
Matthew then climbed the tree a little more until he was slightly above where the web is hanging. After that, using his tongue muscle, he whipped his tongue and aimed it at the middle of the spider web and released the pebble at the right moment to give it the most momentum to fly straight into the web, causing the whole web to tremble a little by the strength of the throw. Matthew then retracted his tongue and stayed still at his current place.
Without waiting for a long time, soon a black spider with a similar size and characteristic as yesterday came out of a hole in the tree. 8 sharp and thin legs, with its whole body dyed black, Matthew is sure that this spider is the same species as the one he fought yesterday.
The spider went and check on its web to see what creature it caught today, but when he found out that it is only an inedible pebble that was stuck in the middle of the web, the spider looked pissed off, stomping its leg hard on the tree before it walked to the web to grab the pebble and threw it back on the ground.
If the spider were smarter maybe it will be curious and wonder how does a pebble that it usually find on the ground could end up stuck on its web, but luckily it didn't think that far, and couldn't realize that a tongue is suddenly stuck onto the back of one of its legs and yanked it until the leg was torn off its body.
The startled spider loses its grip on the tree and falls down the tree. Luckily the spider's body isn't dense and the spider used its web and shot it onto the trunk of the trees to break its fall. When the spider was angry and searched for the culprit, it couldn't find anything both on the tree or on the ground. But just when the spider is about to climb the tree, once again without realizing it, another one of its legs at the same side as the torn leg from before, was once again jerked out of its body and he fell again to the ground.
Now with only six legs left, 4 on the left side and 2 on the right side, it is hard for the spider to keep his balance and stand properly. It is now very angry that it started to release the high-pitched screech that Matthew heard yesterday. But expressing its anger didn't resolve anything. On the contrary, it gave Matthew a better angle to stab the spider leg that he got earlier to the spider's body and dragged it across to its back.
Blue blood started to gush out of the spider's torn back. And soon, the spider went limp on the ground and the machine-like voice on his head confirmed Matthew's kill.
-Level 2 Common Wandering Spider Killed-
'Now that is way more fun than yesterday.' Matthew said as he wiped his nonexistent sweat with his nonexistent palm.
Using his camouflage ability and the knowledge from yesterday's hunt that the spider didn't really have good eyesight, Matthew exploited the spider's weakness and used his advantage to the fullest to get a clean kill.
Looking at the spider's corpse that had its back torn apart and blue blood splattered everywhere, it looked even more unappetizing than yesterday. But Matthew got a reason for not killing the spider by stabbing its head like yesterday. Since it is harder for him to eat the spider whole if its venom glands exploded like yesterday and the venom spread everywhere, it will be harder for him to consume the spider. And Matthew is also curious if he needed to exactly eat the spider's head to complete the monster data or he could eat the spider's other body part and still be able to complete the monster data.
If he needed to eat exactly the spider's head to complete the monster data, it could be trouble in the future since if he was eating creatures with hard bones or they just have inedible parts, then Matthew won't be able to complete the monster data for a lot of animals.
Despite the unappetizing looks, Matthew still took a bite out of the spider's body. Then a notification at the right of his vision appeared again but,
-Bionutrients Consumed-
He didn't see a notification about the monster data percentage going up.
'Do I really need to eat the head part then? Whatever, I will eat the body first.'
Matthew then chomped and swallowed the spider's body again and again after his fifth time repeating it, he finally sees the notification he wanted to see,
-Data about Common Wandering Spider Collected (88%)-
-Bionutrients Consumed-
'YES! Thank the bearded God, this means I will be able to get complete monster data from the wolves or other animals with bones.'
Since Matthew is quite a distance away from his nest, he decided to gather up the legs and eat them first and leaving 2 just in case he needed it for another emergency situation on the way back to his nest since the sharp spider legs are proven to be useful since yesterday, Matthew decided to keep a few in stock just in case the situation where he needs it arrived.
After eating 6 of the legs and ⅓ of its body, Matthew felt that his stomach was already full and his monster data completion already reached 92%.
Since Matthew's hunt is already finished and it's still noon, Matthew was considering whether to go deeper into the forest or go back to his nest. He could continue his search for other creatures, but he still has to store the rest of the spider's body for him to eat later and complete the monster data. After remembering how dangerous the creatures can be and Matthew doesn't have any information about them, he decided to just go back home and train his skin color changing to be more fluent.
When the night comes, instead of holing up on his nest, knowing what will happen this time, Matthew will use the opportunity to scout the area near his nest and observe the many creatures that come at night to see if there are any of the creatures body parts that interest him and may be beneficial for him to use for his own in his evolution.
Changing his skin color into a darker shade of green the same as the color of grass at night and bringing one of the spider legs with his tongue that he placed underneath his body to conceal it, Matthew started his research trip.
