The group of monkeys might have already scattered and ran away after being faced with the towering wall of fire, but Matthew didn't want to take a chance that the more or less 20 monkeys will return and try to attack the three kobolds once again after they realized that the firewall was not coming back again. So right after the wall of fire dissipated, Matthew quickly launched himself off of the tree branch towards the front of three kobolds, leaving the alpha monkey a large room to breathe and rest after the constant game of chase that it had with Matthew earlier.
However, the alpha monkey didn't seem to have any plans on making that time to relax as he released another scream, the same exact one as before with its finger still pointing toward Matthew and the three kobolds.
