With Matthew out of the picture, the two ogres and three kobolds were currently standing in the middle of the forest on their own with a pack of wolves going after them.
If they were to fend for themselves, the two ogres would have already run away as fast as they could from their current place as they were clearly outnumbered and there's no way for them to be able to fight against a pack of wolves alone with the current number of people. At least ten ogre warriors were needed and their numbers were half of that. Moreover, the three kobolds that were with them were still under level 20.
It made a huge difference in fighting power when they hadn't undergone their evolution first. With the sheer level difference between their team and the wolves, it wouldn't even be a fight, it would be a survival challenge instead if they decided to go against the wolf head-on.
