Azure thought about what happened earlier. She thought about accepting the offer from the lady.
"Maybe this is a better option for my father's operation. And I could provide my family's needs and for my siblings' school, as well as my father's medicine." Azure grabbed the opportunity to work as a singer in another country.
The next morning, after doing things in my house, I called the lady who offered me work in her country. And I told her that my documents were ready to process. The lady was delighted and informed me that after one month and a half might be my departure. And I should be prepared and ready. When I finished talking to the lady, I talked to my mom as well about my plan.
"Mom, I have an important thing to talk about with you."
"What is it, Azu?"
"Someone invited me to work as a singer."
"Oh, then what is the problem with that, for you to be informed and to have permission from me? You're not working far away from us, right?"
My mom and I were silent for a minute.
"Azure, don't tell me you're going to work in another city."
I nodded to mom and told her,
"Mom, it's not in another city. But...." My mom interrupted me, and I didn't continue my words.
"If not in another city, that would be great. You can still be with us."
"I'm sorry, mom, but this is the only way I can think of saving my father." My mom was stunned and waiting for my next words to speak. But I kept on silence. I didn't know what my mother's reaction would be after hearing me till the end.
My mom started crying.
"Azu, what do you want to tell me? Are you going to leave us?" My mom was sobbing and hugging me after telling her I was going to work in another country.
"Mom, please, I did this for my father. After my father is going well and finished his surgery, I promise to come back here to be with you again."
After I convinced my mom, she told me to tell my father as well about leaving them.
I went to the hospital to talk to my father. My father didn't agree with me either. He was blaming himself because of my decision. After I promised my father that I would take good care of myself in another country, he allowed me to go later on.
After I settled everything with my family and my documents, I went to work and to meet Bob and Darren to inform them, too.
"Are you sure about that, Azu?" Bob was surprised.
Darren was sad about me. He thought if he could help me, he would never have allowed me to work in another country. Darren felt the pain in his chest, thinking of me leaving them so soon.
"Azu, I will get you back when I become a higher rank here. Soon, I will be promoted. I will do everything to bring you back here. Wait for it." Darren said, and he patted my head. I am so touched by what Darren told me. I blushed and hugged him.
"Thank you, Darren" I responded. Darren smiled at me.
"Of course, you look like my sister to me." Darren stated.
After hearing Darren's words, I was disappointed. And to think there is really no hope of my feelings for him, since he treated me like a sister only.
"Yeah, thank you, bro!" I joked at him to lessen my disappointment.
We started working after our conversation. My boss asked me to hurriedly go to the warehouse to help the others. Because it needs to release the goods at the warehouse immediately. So I ran as fast as I could to the warehouse. Then I accidentally bumped into someone and I apologized to him.
"Boss, I am sorry because I'm in a hurry." When I looked at him, I was so amazed and drooling at his beauty. He is very handsome. A perfect man that every girl would dream of.
"I never thought that they accepted here a girl to work." he said. I was stunned because I didn't expect that he would recognize me. Luckily, Bob came to me.
"Boss, I am sorry he was a man. His physical was petite only. That's why sometimes they think of him as a girl." Bob explained to him.
"OK, please be careful next time. We don't need some idiotic worker here." He arrogantly stated to us. Bob and I nodded to him. Bob scolded me to be careful.
"Yeah, I know. I was just in a hurry. And I didn't mean to bump into him. He's so arrogant. And I apologized to him already." Bob knocked on my head and said, "Shut up! No matter what you say, he is still our boss! He was the one our superior was talking about yesterday. A wealthy man."
"OK, I understand. I'm going back to work now and I will behave myself." I said to Bob and continued to work.
After our work was done, the arrogant handsome boss announced that more shipping would arrive tomorrow, so we needed to work early in the morning until late at night and he would double the payment for us. Everyone was glad about the announcement.
After the announcement, Darren informed me we would go to the bar later for a drinking contest.
"Wow, really? Hehehe! I can make money again." Darren pinched my cheek and said, "You really love money, huh!" And Darren shrugged at me.
While Darren and I were teasing each other, I felt someone was watching us. When I turned around to see who was staring at us, it turned out to be an arrogant, handsome boss.
The arrogant, handsome boss was still confused about Azure's identity. He didn't believe that Azure was a boy.
Darren and I entered the bar. And we started joining the contest. While enjoying the night, I didn't realize that there were a lot of customers watching us. And someone who was staring at me intensely. After my last shot for the win. Someone was approaching behind me.
"Wow, I didn't know you were a very good drinker. Are you still able to work early tomorrow?" I turned back to see who was talking to me. I was shocked when I saw the one who was talking was our arrogant, handsome boss. I suddenly stood up, but he pushed me down to my seat. Then he sat beside me as well.
