Chapter 3 - Volume 1 – Chapter 2 – An unforgettable action …

After Nadia abandoned me, I thought I should analyze a little what I have around me.

Since I was on a hill, I could feel the wind blowing on my skin. When I tried to look at the sun, my eyes tended to close due to the blinding light (as in reality).

Everything was all too real ...

Anyway, I started walking towards the village, I wanted to find out more information about this world.

To tell you the truth, maybe the developers when they were creating the game made some historical simplifications. I mean that perhaps this village is not even so well known and to simplify they called it that even if the name was probably given to it later.

I noticed that the houses were made of wood and there weren't many (obviously from a medieval village I couldn't expect who knows what breathtaking constructions).

I reached the market, there were a lot of vendors shouting to grab the customers: << Fresh game hunted yesterday !! Plenty of rabbits! >>

<< Milk milked just a little while ago, come and try it! >>

There I noticed an unusual thing. Inside the market square, there was a stall that sold fish even though we were inland, how did he manage to get here?

There were two solutions: either the fish had been imported and therefore expired (since in those times it is very difficult to transport this type of product due to backward conservation techniques), or it was fish caught in various lakes and rivers.

I approached the seller and asked: << Excuse me, sir, where does this fish come from? >>

I asked him without even thinking about it, it took him a while to answer me enough to make me think he didn't understand me: << Well you see, from what I know it was brought to me by the Elbe river which is further south, so I think it's edible. .. >>

I didn't want to buy it at all and even if I wanted to, I still wouldn't have the money.

From this brief dialogue, I realized that the game was probably translating my language into theirs. So I tried to ask the same question in Russian (if you're wondering why it's very simple. In Germany, given the history it had during the Cold War, it kept a lot of Russian-speaking population within its territory. Since my father was German. and my Russian mother, taught me to speak her language a little too) to which the merchant replied: << Are you stupid or what? I said it to you just a few seconds ago! >>

My theory was therefore correct.

On the way home I also saw a wooden church under construction, what would later become the church of St. Nikolai. No wonder given the Christian faith of the Holy Roman Empire.

A little further on, after the church, I noticed a gallows for the impacts.

There were some people (I didn't pay attention to their number) with a noose around their neck and another person, a judge, and a crowd gathered to listen to him. He kept talking in such a way as to emotionally involve the crowd, and he was just succeeding as the audience shouted in unison: << Death to the traitors! >>.

I didn't like the scene, I kept walking ignoring that macabre event.

After a while, I realized I was in front of the door of that house I had fled from in the morning, even though I had never been there. Yet somehow I knew how to get there.

<< So the smallest memories and habits were passed on to my brain >>

I thought. I knocked, a few seconds later the door opened, it was my mother who with a contemptuous look.

She was a slender woman, with long brown hair but a face far from being as young as before, perhaps this was caused by the general stress. With an angry and disgusted voice, he shouted: << Come in, we haven't finished our talk>>.

I sat down at the table in front of her, she began to speak in an ever higher tone: << Even if as a young man I had the heart to take you with me, this does not mean that now you do what you want, you do not work in the fields and indeed you also create a lot of damage. Just the other day you accidentally let a cow escape, it cost us a fortune. Then even if you don't do shit from morning to night, no one told you you can laze around, you didn't even have the decency to tidy up the house in our absence !! >>

Before I took control of this body, my alter-ego wasn't exactly a saint. All of a sudden, while I was thinking, she resumed furiously: << Are you even listening to me or are you ignoring me like always, filthy spoiled cock! You see that I also hit hard you know! >>

I didn't know how to answer.

After she see that I did not respond to anything she said to me, got up and began to slap like a machine gun, this time even more violently than the others.

It hurt a lot (shouldn't the pains be reduced?). After she pulled me quite a bit, I took strength and blocked her hands so that she could not withdraw them from my strong grip.

<< See like you continue to ignore me!! >>

I stood mute and stared at her with a look full of anger, I remembered that if I was now leading this life full of injustices, it was also her fault. The fact that she "saved me" as a child didn't mean at all that I should see her like a saving angel. However I felt compelled to apologize for the damage my alter-ego had caused, in a low voice I said to her: << I'm sorry mom, I didn't want to make you sad. I'm still a fool ... >>

I still held her hands, she seemed to understand: << Promise me that now you will commit yourself? >>.

I didn't even have time to tell her that a man came out of the bedroom, it was her husband. He saw again that I was holding her hands. He misunderstood the scene by suggesting that I was somehow causing physical damage to my mother. He screamed as he ran towards me: << Who do you think you are to raise your hands on my wife eh, ungrateful shit !! >>

I hit the ground and started punching myself in the face. I felt a lot of pain, unlike my mother, he went down hard. The woman was trying to separate him from me: <>

He replied with a smirk under his moustache: << Even if he hasn't done anything to you now, he deserves a lesson anyway! >>

He continued, continued, continued and continued until my face began to bleed non-stop, I thought he would deform it. He was finally done, he was out of breath, he was committed to beat me.

I was without strength, I decided to stay a little on the ground to rest.

Meanwhile, I thought that I could not take this situation anymore, if the game aimed to become King, this situation could not have been one of the worst starts. I thought once more about what that man and his companions had done to my parents.

They had been brutally killed in cold blood on that dark and terrible evening ...

Even though my sisters and I were spared that day, we were still divided.

Also here it just seems like I'm not a human being but a punching bag of that bastard and the trash can of insults for everyone else.

From what this body remembers, these pigs also have children, two brothers.

They learned a lot from their parents and by imitating them they too found it normal to take it out on my alter-ego.

How do I get out of this shitty situation?

I thought to myself. Unexpectedly, a deep hatred took over from the other emotions.

Wait a minute ... on the back cover of the game, it said ** You aim to become King, whatever the cost.**

Come to think of it, in the end, these are just...

"NPCs" NO !! ??

I turned towards the entrance, there was my mother who was looking at me worried but did not dare to help me, her husband had told her not to come near me.

Near the door was a pitchfork, like the one they used to kill my parents. Seeing him I was assailed by an intrusive thought, something I never thought I would do...

I tried to get up. My face hurt and I didn't see very well. I leaned against the table and sat in the chair for a few seconds. As soon as I resumed seeing decently I decided to look around.

I saw my mother in a corner, she had a face that was somewhere between worry and fear.

I got up and, heading towards the entrance, took that pitchfork that was placed next to it.

As far as I knew, it could also have been the same one they used to kill my parents. I locked the door.

My mother whispered to me in a very low tone: << Attila, what do you want to do ...? >>.

She understood what my intentions were, so I decided not to listen to her.

I approached my "father" and while the pigface down on the bed, I planted the pitchfork in his throat.

I didn't even give him time to turn around, that bastard died in that instant.

Seeing the scene, my mother covered her mouth, after a few seconds she started screaming at the top of her voice.

After that, I turned with killer eyes to her. After what I did, however, it would be over for me.

ALL WITNESSES HAD TO DIE

My "brothers", hearing their mother's screams from outside, broke down the door I had locked and rushed into the house. What they saw was me with a bloodstained pitchfork, the father lying on the red-coloured bed and their terrified mother. In the middle of the scene my adrenaline went up, I realized what I did and now I had to deal with these three.

One of the two brothers shouted: << Attila !!! Do you realize what the fuck you did !! ?? >>

The other shouted: << Dirty son of a noble, I swear I'll kill you !! >>

This last statement had bothered me enough. While my body was in the house, my mind was elsewhere.

I killed a person, an action that is severely punished in my time.

Then I remembered what I read on the back cover of the game: that I must become a king, whatever the cost. I woke up from my thoughts even more pissed off than before seeing that the two brothers were about to attack me.

I did not have time to think about how to deal with them that by simply raising the pitchfork I pierced one of the two who had loaded me like a bull that saw the red flag.

He died immediately after the spikes pierced him.

To get rid of its weight, I detached it from the pitchfork and threw it on the ground.

I had killed another person but it had little effect on me compared to the previous murder, perhaps because this time I was interpreting this crime as self-defence.

I turned to the other enemy, who was appalled by the scene. But after a few seconds, he regained his courage and managed to close the distance by hitting me with a series of punches on the stomach and face.

After all those years of suffering, those punches didn't hurt that much anymore. I threw ahead at him so that I could take advantage of the distance given by the pitchfork.

Understanding my intentions, the enemy retreated, shouting threats at me, as if I were the one who should have been afraid. I did not give him the time to escape nor to elaborate a strategy that I charged him by sticking him against the wall of the house, leaving him hanging like a sack.

I turned to the woman who, terrified by the sudden death of her whole family, said in a desperate tone: << Attila, why did you do all this ?! Don't you have even a shred of gratitude towards us...?! >>

I smiled and replied: << The fact that you have had, according to you, a heart of gold to save me does not make you special in my eyes. Especially if you are among those who killed my real parents. It was okay too, you know? In the end, I was safe, yet you believed that I still deserved to be insulted, beaten and discriminated against just because I was born in a lucky family?! I don't know what gratitude you are talking about! Take this hypocritical bullshit of yours to hell! >>

I stuck the pitchfork in his eyes before she could do anything.

Well, now that all the witnesses are dead, I can't stay here anymore, I have to get out of here asap. If they find out, I can't go on with the game.

So I left the pitchfork stuck in the wall and walked away from the house without being noticed.

Sayonara bunch of filthy pigs.
