Reina's gaze landed on the grey cat she had rescued earlier before reverting her attention to the book she had picked up a while ago.
___
Her first encounter with the chubby cat had taken place a couple of hours ago and it had been hostile and vigilant towards her, marking her to be a threat to its safety.
It was unwilling to let her get too close but the pain it was enduring had weakened it to a great extent.
Though it was cautious towards her, she had finally won its trust by being patient and had succeeded in getting close enough to the injured feline to carefully check on its wounds.
Once she had reached this point, it did not take much time to coax it into her cottage so that she might treat it before its condition worsened.
Maybe because it had been enduring the pain for too long, the moment it had entered the cottage, it had lost its consciousness.
