Doctor Bundt had expressed his acceptance of the four conditions that the young vampire had put forward as he desired no one but Rein to be his test subject.
"I shall think of a worthy payment when you come to my annex tomorrow morning for the commencement of our experimental study." He reminded Rein about the time and place that he needed to be bright and early tomorrow morning.
However, instead of nodding straightaway to display her compliance, she paused after remembering another prior agreed obligation that she could not miss for the world.
'His punishment starts early in the morning tomorrow.' She recalled that it was she who had determined the time and place for Treegan Molt's punishment so there was no way that she would skip witnessing that glorious sight.
"I shall be there after breakfast. I have a prior commitment before that so I might be a little busy around that time." She apologized after stating the reason for changing their plans.
Doctor Bundt would have been happy as long as Rein was willing to enter the annex which served as his clinic, research lab, and his residence.
Therefore, he agreed without making a fuss and decided that it was about time that he left this place now.
Preparations needed to be made before he could welcome Rein into his annex, thus, he would have to leave now.
However, he did not forget to explain how to consume the medication he had brought along with him today.
"Please do not consume any blood pills until tomorrow even if you feel the urge later on." He requested because this might interfere with his test results.
Reina had been too demanding until now so she gave her word that she would abstain from consuming anything blood-related during this brief period.
'I wouldn't know where to find more either.' She sighed at her pitiful lack of knowledge about Rein and this world that she now lived in.
The old man gave her a few more pieces of advice about the medication and she nodded, paying attention to his every word.
Once he was done, Reina walked the old man to the door and watched him leave before locking the main entrance to her room.
As her feet dragged her tired body back inside, she recalled another crucial matter that needed her attention.
Turning sideways, she glanced at the side entrance which was connected to the King's chambers.
The King and his aide, Treegan had entered her room from the main entrance while she was with the physician and left by using this side entrance.
Thus, right now, this door was unlocked, allowing anyone from the other side to walk in at any time.
'Better lock this as well!' She rushed ahead and sighed only after making sure that she had secured this exit properly.
With both doors locked, Reina ambled back to the bed and fell face-first on it.
The soft cushioned mattress broke her fall and her weary body slumped into it.
Despite looking relaxed, her mind was whirring constantly as she absorbed the numerous memories that had been triggered thanks to the old man's nature to spill excessive information than what was needed.

As silence fell over Reina who was deep in contemplation about the memories she had obtained in the last few hours, there was chatter in the room next door.
Treegan Molt had a sullen look on his face as he glanced at his Master.
However, the displeasure written all over his face was not aimed at his King but was towards the man next door.
"Master, do I really have to be punished tomorrow?" He grumbled in the softest of voices but that was more than enough for King Zander to hear.
Raising his head from the papers in his hand, King Zander looked right at his trusted shadow and aide.
"Why were you punished?" He interrogated, placing those papers back on the table.
With his back straightened in his seat, his golden eyes leered at the man opposite him like a predator gazed at his prey before devouring it.
Treegan's body shuddered at this sight and he lowered his head and his body to bow towards his Master.
"For disobeying your command." He answered in a mutter as his voice trembled.
King Zander scoffed before giving him a nod of approval.
The sole reason Treegan was being punished was that he had disobeyed the King's command and even gone as far as to forget what it was in the first place.
No matter what his grudges against the chamberlain were, he should have kept them aside to complete the task handed over to him.
However, Treegan had failed to do so on account of his personal grievances and misgivings with the other man.
"Is my command something that you can forget?" The King's chilling voice rose in the silent room once again, making Treegan flinch.
In the next second, the aide was down on his knees and his head was in the same position, lowered to be gazing at the ground.
"This servant deserves greater punishment, My Lord!" He exclaimed, realizing where and how he had messed up.
His emotions had gotten the best of him and he had failed to do as he was told.
It was his duty as the King's aide and shadow to accomplish every task given to him but he had not completed it and even dared to forget about it.
Thus, he was ashamed of himself and did not raise his head, hiding his face from his Master whom he had disappointed.
King Zander ran his fingers through his neatly combed hair, tousling it without a care.
The stern aura around them faded after observing the sincere apology and desire for repentance his servant had displayed.
"Accept the punishment tomorrow and do not disobey my words ever again." He announced and saw the other man nod with his head still lowered.
"Raise." He commanded after seeing his obedience and his words were accepted in the next instant.
Treegan was still embarrassed by the punishment he would be facing tomorrow morning but for the sake of his King, he was willing to do anything just to obtain his approval once again.
Having completed their conversation, Treegan stood in silence while King Zander thought of what he had overheard just earlier.
The room where they were currently in was his personal office adjoined to his bed chambers.
Since this was his personal space, there were a lot of mysteries buried within.
No one was allowed to enter this room without the King's permission and those who disobeyed would have to face his wrath.
The taciturn man who liked his solitude had enchanted this room to ensure that his privacy when inside this room was maintained at all times.
Not a soul outside this office could hear a word being spoken inside but those inside could clearly hear what was happening around them.
Thus, after Treegan and the King had entered this office, Reina was unable to hear any other sound coming from this room.
However, these men had overheard every single word the young chamberlain and the old physician had spoken.
King Zander had seen Rein Melk consuming blood pills in the past but had never paid it much heed.
Therefore, the revelation made by the old man was an unexpected surprise for him.
'Is that why he had been so unwilling to display his strengths?' He wondered whether the lack of life essence in the chamberlain's body as a result of not drinking any blood was the cause for his weak appearance.
He could tell from the very first time he had seen Rein that the other vampire had his own set of strengths but due to reasons that even he could not understand, Rein Melk never revealed his strengths to anyone.
